SGT. BETSY BRANTER SMITH – Well it's no secret that our leaders are working overtime to destabilize our communities. And if you are paying attention at all, it's a coordinated effort between elected officials, Marxist groups, policy makers, and the state media. They are working overtime to demoralize the police, exhaust the border patrol agents, decriminalize rioting and looting, and divide us against each other in any way possible. Police officers are retiring early and we are having a heck of a time recruiting new officers. Meet Betsy Smith.Well our guest today is a retired 29-year veteran of a large police force in the suburbs of Chicago. Her name is Sgt. Betsy Branter Smith. She's held positions in patrol, investigations, narcotics, hostage negotiations, K9, and just about every other aspect of police work. Betsy is the creator of the only course of its kind for women in law enforcement, “The Winning Mind for Women”. She's an expert in law and order and the spokesperson for the National Police Association.

Sergeant Betsy Brantner-Smith and Jared Bradley return for the finale of the 3 part series on Police's Uphill Battle. Specifically, examining why crime has been increasing in the United States and what factors have been contributing to it.The rise of crime and de-policing has led to an influx in homicides, sexual assaults, and carjackings in many urban areas. This has caused many people to be fearful to leave their homes and go out in public, leading to a decrease in economic activity. This situation is further complexed by the open borders in the United States, which has allowed for the increase of MS-13 and other criminal gangs, as well as fentanyl and other drugs. This has led to an increase in overdoses and other criminal activity.Unless something is done to solve the root causes of crime, fear, and chaos, the situation will only continue to worsen. It is up to all of us to take a stand and work together to bring justice to every victim.Betsy Brantner Smith is the national spokesman for the National Police Association. My guest is another WINNING MIND from history: He was born in Ireland in 1898. His mother died when he was 10, and 1 month later he moved to England to attend school. He later joined the British army and fought in WW1. He was a friend if J.R.R. Tolkien, author of the “Lord of the Rings.” He was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. [He] wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. One of his works is the classic series: The Chronicles of Narnia. Who is this WINNING…and apparently, WRITING MIND? It is Clive Staples Lewis, also known as CS Lewis. This reading is called “On Living in an Atomic Age” is just one of the many essays in a book called “Present Concerns.” It is a collection of essays CS Lewis wrote and published during his life. It speaks of an Atomic Bomb, which I think is relevant to us now, but could also be substituted with the threat of pandemic, war, famine, or whatever else seems to threaten us any given year. Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy this, and that it challenges you to think and live, and that it contributes to your next WINNING decision. Anthony Pompliano Pomp

My belief is that the self doesn't need to be improved for happiness but only needs to be understood. Each one of us came to earth with a unique set of strengths and weaknesses! The reason we have those strengths is to find, own and build a life on them. The reason we have the weaknesses is to allow the strengths to shine and for us to stay humble and understanding of our place on earth. If there is any desire to improve, what makes life truly fun is improving in your strength because that's a win-win-win for you, for your micro and macro society! Weaknesses need to be acknowledged and accepted! Self-development and improvement and so on constantly focus on improving your weaknesses and when you can't, because you are a mere human who is inherently faulty (plus you really don't have time) then you are left feeling awful and broken! Through my course you will learn 2 MAJOR lessons: 1: That you are NOT broken and do NOT need fixing 2: You CAN contribute and live a “whole” life without constantly improving yourself. From my perspective the “self” needs to be discovered, acknowledged, strengthened and celebrated and NOT helped. Self-help is dead but self-discovery and strengthening and celebrating should be alive! My contention is let's build our “self” on understanding our strength and thriving for peak performance instead of trying to endlessly change what can be neutralized just by awareness and acceptance! Why not live a happy life with discovering what makes us tick instead of constantly beating our heads in the wall feeling bad about ourselves for having a weakness! Start 2021 off by building on your strengths instead of focusing on your weaknesses! We are in a tough situation in this world already why not turn self-help upside down and become strong and happy by discovering, owning and monetizing your genius! Stop “self-helping” your weaknesses and start neutralizing the emotional triggers in order to build the calm yet bold confidence we all have in us but seem to have forgotten to claim it! QUOTES 02:55 "Law enforcement is a lot like any high-level sports activity. You're going to make critical decisions under great stress, often under physical duress." 06:27 "Deadly force is defined as that amount of force that cause serious bodily injury or death. Serious bodily injury. Multiple assailants attacking you is deadly force. Someone striking your head with any object, including fists, can be deadly force." 09:32 "Criminality comes from a lot of things, a lot of motivations, partly because of the nature of mankind and that's one of things we're not allowed to talk about is the nature of evil. People can be evil. People can be misguided." 15:38 "Our primary job is dealing with victims and people who are in crisis, not dealing with criminals. And that's what people don't understand." 17:02 "We're seeing part of chaos in these communities is that we're going to see people allowed to break laws to aggravated assaults, to do vandalisms, and they just turn their backs to them. They call it a protest. A riot's not a protest." ----------------------------- SUMMARY In this episode of the National Police Association Podcast, Sgt. Betsy Smith interviews Dave Smith aka JD Buck Savage, former police lieutenant and trainer for “Winning Mind Seminars.” Dave discusses how athletic training conditions police in the face of deadly force, criminality's roots in culture and human nature, and the primary duty of police in healing communities. Dave also comments on weak links with officials of the executive branch aggregating laws and prosecutors who refuse to prosecute criminals. ------------------------------ HIGHLIGHTS 02:22 Using athletic training to hone police decision-making 07:48 Criminality: A taboo subject rooted in nature and nurture 11:14 Defunding and re-imagining policing negatively affect citizens 16:23 Weak links in law enforcement are in the executive branch 18:32 Eliminating "warrior training" is a mistake ------------------------------ RESOURCES National Police Association

On this segment, Rod goes All In with New Orleans Saints’ Wide Receiver, Juwan Johnson.  Prior to starting his career in ‘The Big Easy,’ this New Jersey native excelled in high school basketball and track.  Juwan surprised his family when he shifted and made football his focus. Juwan was a college football star at Penn State while balancing his undergraduate studies toward a degree in telecommunications.  Soon after the passing of his Dad, Juwan made the decision to become a graduate transfer for the University of Oregon.  While he may not have known it as the time, his move to another part of the country was a part of Juwan’s healing and continued growth. As an Oregon Duck, Juwan continued to shine on the gridiron, including the best performance of his college career in a game against USC...after overcoming an injury. Sports are a family affair for Juwan.  His Dad was an athlete, and his brother, George., Jr. played in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.  They are a close-knit family who push each other to be the best versions of themselves. Listen as Rod talks with Juwan about his family, his success in sports, and the beginnings of an investment strategy.  Go All In with this episode --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Brian Kennedy always wanted to be successful and make money. While in college he had a part-time job at an electronic store “circuit city” making an average of 5k a month. He later learned that at the time the average UCLA graduate makes 43k a year. After that Brian decided to end his college career.     Brian was in the process of becoming a stockbroker in Beverly Hills when a friend of his suggested he talk to his father who was a Manager of a Mitsubishi dealership. After weighing the risk and reward between the two opportunities, Brian started his automotive career.  For the first three months, he was averaging 10-11 cars per month making between $4000-5100 each month. Brian wasn’t ok with his results. He’s manager started to coach him on what to say and how to overcome objections. By implementing the instructions word for word, he sold 24.5 cars and made $10,700 the remaining 23 days of that month   Brian believes that the biggest mistake that people make in the automotive industry is hanging out with people who sell 6 cars a month and who doesn’t have the desire to achieve more. You must be intentional about finding people better than you and learning from them. Also by being in Automotive management for the last 15 years, Brian adopted the mindset that you have to help your team make money and in turn, you will make money. Tune in with us as Brian Kennedy shares how important it is as a manager to support and pour to your team.
