Becca's love for advocacy stems from two years of working in the Child, Youth and Family sector of social work. During her time in the field, she saw just how important advocacy for healing after a trauma is. After moving from Nebraska to Denver, CO, Becca started the Denver chapter of Room Redux. Room Redux Denver is dedicated to encouraging healing and improving the lives of children who have faced abuse in their homes through Room Transformations. Before moving to Denver, Becca also worked in advocating for more mental health education, eating disorder awareness and has spoken at schools and colleges about these topics. She was inspired by her own journey through an eating disorder and the lack of resources and understanding that impacted her recovery. Her keynote presentation, Starving For Perfection, highlighted education around eating disorders, the impacts of social media and how to support a loved one who is struggling. Outside of Room Redux, Becca works in higher education and loves to enjoy all the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. She is an avid football fan and loves to cook and eat. She strives each day to live by this quote: “In this world, one must be a little too kind to be kind enough.” Music: https://www.purple-planet.com
