See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Winston Churchill is probably one of the most iconic symbols of modern Britain but did you know his mom was American. Jennie Jerome was born into new American money and would start the dollar princess trend where rich American heiress would trade 5th avenue mansions for tiaras. Come learn about the incredible life of the first dollar princess. Kent has often said he would have liked to have met Sir Winston Churchill. In this episode Kent shares some of the personality traits possessed by Churchill that helped him lead Great Britain through World War II.
Your Mood Decides Your Future5/21/1965Neville Goddard The late Winston Churchill made the statement that the mood decides the fortunes of people, rather than the fortunes decide the mood. I wonder if he had that in a vision, had that from a dream. He undoubtedly to make that bold statement had it from some depths of his soul, anyway. But is it true? Does a man's mood decide the fortunes and does he wait for something good to happen in his world in order to get that mood of satisfaction? I tell you from my own experience that the great Sir Winston is telling the truth. I could quote you, I wouldn't say unnumbered, but so many of the great mystics of the world who came to the same conclusion. Take George Russell, better known to us as A.E., he said: “I became aware of a swift echo, a response to my own mood in circumstance that seemed hitherto immutable in its indifference. I could prophesy from the uprising of new moods within myself that I would soon meet people of a certain character; and so I met them. Even inanimate objects were under the sway of these affinities.” I know from my own experience this is true. What a life. What an incredible testimony by this beautiful stunner boss babe Kristin Navarro, who defies the stereotype what ranchers are supposed to wear with her heels, Make Up, sparkly outfits and glam all day. Everyone needs to go to Oak Meadow Ranch and experience the 20 acres of natures beauty with it's zoo, exotic animals, lodging, 5 star Restaurant "The White Horse", a wedding venue, a church and lots of amenities. It is super convenient close to Dallas and Winstar Casino and next to Lake Ray Roberts. The lodging has all different types of glamping and 4 new cabins that are interactive - you can feed the brand new giraffe "Puzzles" directly from your cabin. Puzzles is the newest addition to Oak Meadow Ranch. Puzzles is an older giraffe and there is no better place for him to live out his final years. He is very used to people encounters. Kristin talks about that the exotic community is very small. She doesn't know Joe Exotic personally, because he was already in prison when she started but they do have a peacock from the Joe Exotic Zoo and used to have a donkey that just recently passed away. Oak Meadow Ranch has over 70 animals and 15 different exotic species. Kristin is USDA licensed and the government regulates everything and has to approve all the different animals. Sidney the Kangaroo lived in her house for 3 years and did a lot of community work for children's hospitals, retirement homes etc. She is her little celebrity and travels very well. Kristin got started with a zebra, a camel and a kangaroo. Kristin is very attached to her animals and extremely protective over them. She is an amazing boss babe but gives zero grace to her team if her animals are not taken care of properly. The Oak Meadow ranch and its exceptional team hosts weddings, bachelor, bachelorette parties, kids parties, proposals etc. "The White Horse" 5 Star Restaurant has the exceptional Chef Eduardo who creates a new menu every 2 to 3 weeks completely from scratch. They serve 4 or 5 course dinners and 2 course brunches. The dinners are an experience, withtable side cooking, live music and the best food known to man in an old fashioned traditional setting, where everyone experiences and enjoys their time together and most put their cell phones away. The Dinner shows are extremely VIP. With the arrival of Puzzles the giraffe they have added a Thursday Night outdoors, under the stars African Dinner Experience. Make your reservations now, as they book way in advance. Kristin has big plans for the future and wants to build a resort with a salt water pool and lazy river and to top it all off add swimming with otters. Kristin and her husband Eduardo want to show the world that owning an exotic ranch zoo is not like Tiger King at all, but when done right does so much good. They have to deal with negative comments on the Internet sometimes but they want the animal activists to consider that some of the animals are endangered species and will be extinct in the wild one day. The only way you will ever have these species is by breeding them in captivity. You are literally preserving these species. The animals are Kristin's babies and they love their human interaction and the animals love her like crazy. Every animal has 5 star accommodations. The sloth, Sir Winston loves giving sloth hugs and Kristin hopes that Kristen Bell will come visit the ranch so she can spend time with Sir Winston, since she is so obsessed with sloths as seen on Ellen. Kristin says that it is amazing how many people are obsessed with sloths and that they are actual therapy for some. Please watch the YouTube episode so you can see the adorable 4 weeks old large spotted genets "Ross and Rachel" who joined our podcast towards the end. What a fun interview. We cannot wait to visit the ranch and see all this amazingness in person. Stay tuned to our Instagram and Tik Tok accounts. https://www.instagram.com/oakmeadowranch_texas/https://www.instagram.com/lemurqueen2018/https://www.tiktok.com/@oakmeadowranch_texas?lang=en
Terrific episode on Winston Churchill, his prodigious skills as a rhetorician, and in particular his speech to a joint sitting of US Congress on Boxing Day, 1941. Our guest is Richard Cohen, founder of the popular Winston Churchill facebook group and a legal scholar who has immersed himself in all things Churchill. He was a proof reader of Andrew Roberts 'Churchill: Walking with Destiny' biography, and a great interviewee for this one. Churchill speeches mentioned in the episode include, the Dunkirk 'Beaches' speech, and The Iron Curtain 'Sinews of Peace' speech. Richard Cohen's own candidature speech to Board of Deputies of British Jews is also on Speakola. Speakola is supported by listeners. https://richperry.com/ [DAILY MINUTE with RICH] There are countless inspiring quotes on the topic of success. One of my favorite quotes comes from Sir Winston Churchill, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom along with many other notable roles during his lifetime. He said, “Success is the ability to go from one failure to the next with no loss of enthusiasm.” That has always stuck with me. Sir Winston knew that no matter how good you are, no matter how hard you try, and no matter how successful you are you're sure to have a couple of failures along the way. But your attitude and willingness to keep going forward will set you apart from everyone else who has already given up. Whenever I'm struggling with something or felt the blow of defeat, I remember the words of Sir Winston Churchill and it gives me that push I need to keep moving forward. In 1929, in Montreal, Churchill observed: “How splendid is our common inheritance. It was with a thrill that, after crossing for several days the great wastes of the Atlantic, I landed in a new world, in a new hemisphere, and found myself at home.” Winston Churchill had a deep affection for Canada, which he referred to as "the linchpin of the English-speaking peoples." The City of Toronto played a special role in this Canadian connection. Churchill first visited Canada in the winter of 1900/1901. In praise of Brian Mulroney and Winston Churchill. In the final episode about Churchill for now we discuss the best of friends, Winston and Gandhi. We completely skip WW2 as much as possible because, come on. We also discuss Penny Farthings, Facegram, and why should never vote Crossfit.
This week we talk about the OG Jowly-man himself: Winston Churchill.Sorry, "SIR" Winston Churchill....I'm sorry what's that? Oh okay. "The RIGHT AND HONORABLE SIR" Winston Churchill. Ryan's canned beverage choice mistake, Irish and German exits, and Babe Ruth. Enjoy!
Greetings to you. This is the 4th chapter on Resolving Conflict. In the next three weeks, we will discuss what we mean by ‘returning a blessing for an insult' and how we can apply it. We will concentrate on cultivating a new attitude with our husband or wife. WHAT DOES AN INSULT-FOR-INSULT RELATIONSHIP LOOK LIKE? An example of an insult-for-insult relationship is the classic relationship between British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, and Lady Nancy Astor, the first female member of Parliament. They were both known for their quick tongues and their dislike for one another. Lady Astor on one occasion said to Churchill, ‘Sir Winston if I were married to you, I would put arsenic in your tea!” To which Churchill replied, “Lady Astor, if I was married to you, I would drink it.” One can only imagine what a marriage relationship would look like when two people speak to one another in this vein, and this insult-for-insult relationship happens far too often in many homes. 1 PETER 3:8-9 - “Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. DO NOT REPAY evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, BLESS, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.” I am sure you will agree that life and marriage will be special and fulfilling if we could have this attitude in our marriage relationship. Next week we will discuss how we can have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind in our marriage relationship. Giving a blessing for an insult.
Judgment is a virtue marked by the ability to carefully consider the facts at hand, weigh all the options, and use critical thinking to make decisions based on one's conclusions. Judgment is perhaps no better exemplified than in the life of Sir Winston Churchill. In this episode, we will explore his life and how we can use his example to make good judgment calls in our own lives. Hosted by Jamie Adams and featuring special guest best-selling author and historian Stephen Mansfield.

In 1969, psychiatrist Anthony Storr published an essay that established very firmly in the public imagination that Sir Winston Churchill suffered from recurrent attacks of severe depression, which he termed the ‘black dog'. But how much evidence is there to support this diagnosis? In this podcast, Dr Raj Persaud interviews Dr Anthony Daniels about his recent paper which calls into question this supposed diagnosis, and considers the extent to which Churchill's low moods could be accounted for by circumstance and simple human nature.
The magnificent new Churchill movie, “Darkest Hour,” easily counts among the year's best, but a crucial scene sends a message the real Sir Winston would have hated. In the movie, the Prime Minister wavers over starting peace talks with Hitler, and on the way to a cabinet meeting, he wanders into the Underground—London's subway. He asks the opinions of ordinary Englishmen in his car, and—only when they tell him to keep fighting at all costs—does he convey that message to Parliament in the famous, “we shall fight on the beaches” speech. It's a touching sequence, but totally misleading: Churchill never rode the Underground, and never shared the comforting, populist notion that leaders should take direction and inspiration from the common man. Like Reagan, Thatcher or Lincoln, Churchill knew that great leaders must provide inspiration and direction to the masses, not the other way around. That's a role today's leading figures must learn, and embrace.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
