Two new books that examine the past yet remind us in some ways of the present. Meet Dr. Mary Triece, author of Radical Advocate: Ida B. Wells and the Road to Race and Gender Justice, in which Triece introduces the concept of “radical embodied advocacy. ” Also, Triece explains her findings in Memory Work: White Ignorance and Black Resistance in Popular Magazines, 1900-1910.

The use of various types of heart monitors is relatively common, and Dr. Kye-Shin Lee, associate professor in UA's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has found a way to make the monitors more accurate while using less battery power. 

The Akron Baseball Project CEO Donny Brooks is continuing to blend community, education, and baseball for young people in Akron. The project, offering a camp August 17, is also unveiling a new theme song. Brooks, along with Mz Pursley and Peoplez330 talk about it all.
