Pokemon hit a stride with games on the DS to the 3DS. The Nintendo 2DS was made for people to have the most affordable option on the market, but it was pretty ugly. The "New Nintendo 3DS," was a major improvement in tech and a huge dropoff for the marketing department. If Nintendo had tried to do more to connect the Wii U and the 3DS the U would have had much greater success. Of the few accessories, the Circle Pad Pro was an amazing anomaly, ugly yet criminally neglected. We'll greatly miss the services that will go missing without the 3DS: Virtual Console, Internet Browser, Mii Plaza, and Spot Pass. And of course, Fire Emblem Awakening forced Nintendo to hold onto the series. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

It's a bit later than expected, but the 3DS has finally gotten the second stick (well, a nub really), and enough buttons to make it nearly feature complete with a Wii U GamePad. A herald of things to come for Nintendo, or sheer coincidence? Sean and Vinnk wonder if this is the next logical step for the 3DS, or merely a placeholder for what's really coming next. Vinnks Zonks out with Future Retro, and Sean tries out a Nintendo classic finally coming to the US on 3DS Virtual Console.
