Patrocinador Clinica Nativa https://clinicanativa.weebly.com
In today's Daily Fix: Martyn Ware, co-founder of the 80's synth band Heaven 17 told Rockstar Games to "Go F*** Yourself" after getting a lowball offer for the band's song, Temptation. The license would have paid each of the song's three writers $7,500 to use the song in Grand Theft Auto 6, but it would include no royalties from the game. Considering that GTA 5 is one of the best-selling games of all time (and continues to sell to this day), Ware refused, even when other gamers argued that the amount was better than nothing. In other news, a modder has unlocked the full developer toolkit for Baldur's Gate 3, which could lead to complete custom campaigns and other content beyond what the "official" modding tools provide. We could see something along the scope of Fallout: London or The Forgotten City, both of which started as mods for Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, respectively. And finally, Sony has announced a PS5 technical presentation for tomorrow at 8am Pacific. Join us here at IGN for the stream, after the event for a live Beyond! episode where we break down all the news.

On episode of 165 of the Hardcore Archive Podcast, Greg is joined by Michael "Popeye" Vogelsang of Calling Hours and Farside. Greg and Popeye discuss his introduce to hardcore in the 1980s, experiences he had attending hardcore shows in Orange County, and the influence early California hardcore bands like Hard Stance had on him. The discussion also includes how Farside came together, notable shows that the band played, other notable bands that Farside shared members with, and how the band came to be affiliated with Revelation Records. The conversation takes a detour from hardcore to discuss Popeye's work doing voice over work, and his career as a voice actor. Fun fact: if you have ever played through The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Fallout 4, you are already familiar with his voice work. Greg and Popeye shift back to discussing hardcore, and we hear about Popeye's move from California to Pennsylvania, how Calling Hours came together, notable shows Calling Hours has played in recent months, and a tour of Europe Calling Hours is currently on with @BeWellHC. This is great episode for fans of late 80s and early 90s hardcore, and for those of us who love classic @RevelationRecords bands, and confused fans of the Gary Larson comic who came to the wrong place. This episode features two tracks after the credits from up and coming Rochester, NY hardcore bands. The first track is "The Squirming Mass of Teeth and Hair" by Debatably Stable. Debatably Stable will appeal to fans of post-hardcore bands like At the Drive In and Refused. The second track is "Overdose" by Deep Disdain. Deep Disdain will appeal to fans of beatdown and heavy hardcore. Even though you can explore its entirety from the comfort of a living room beanbag, the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (commonly just referred to as 'Skyrim') is vast. The video game contains cities, villages, high waterfalls that cascade into deep pools, and packs of wolves that roam the edges of misty alpine forests. Skyrim is celebrated for the intricacy of its environment and is one of the top-selling video games of all time. But if you spend enough time in a fantasy, it might change how you relate to the real world. In this favorite Outside/In episode, first released at the start of the pandemic, producer Justine Paradis speaks with the environmental artist tasked with creating one of the video game world's most iconic landscapes, the limits of environmental design, and how Skyrim shaped his view of the actual outdoors. A recent interview with Skyrim's lead designer on Starfield's origins and Bethesda's evolution. My Starfield review hasn't changed much since my latest experience with Starfield gameplay. Bruce Nesmith sat down with MinnMax and had a lot of insight into Starfield and the Elder Scrolls 6. The interview also touched on Fallout 76 and why it released in the state that it did. I think the interview touches on more than why the Elder Scrolls 6 trailer released, but also into what the Elder Scrolls VI will look like as a game. Starfield is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was announced during Bethesda's E3 presentation in 2018. The game takes place in a space-themed setting, and is the first new intellectual property developed by Bethesda in 29 years. Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. Today we're playing what we coined BRPG, better known as the Bethesda RPG, Starfield…Is this game just another Skyrim or Fallout clone in space? And will I FINALLY be able to customize an attractive character in a Bethesda game? Well, Let's find out!About Starfield: Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.Find more hilarity and chaos with Chadd, Tim, and David on our YouTube Channel
My time with Starfield gameplay is slowly winning me over. I still feel that my Starfield review is in process and my criticisms haven't faded, but I now want to at least finish the Starfield campaign. I've been playing on PC because of Starfield 30fps on the Xbox Series X. The Starfield reviews are slowly lowering the game Starfield metacritic score as well as the Starfield steam score. I'm not surprised by this given all of the rough edges of the game. But that doesn't mean there isn't a good game here that can be enjoyed. My experience with Starfield gameplay has changed a bit after letting go of some expectations and listening to reviews. While my Starfield review is in process and my criticisms still stand, I feel there are ways to enjoy the game. I'm sticking to PC due to Starfield 30fps on the Xbox Series X. The Starfield reviews were discussed yesterday because of the double standards I am seeing. This stream can be another good Starfield before you buy discussion. I will do another Starfield walkthrough today to help showcase what I talk about in this show. The Starfield review double standards continue to emerge the more I look at them. My experience with Starfield gameplay quickly drove me to PC due to Starfield 30fps on the Xbox Series X and I was still fairly disappointed. The Starfield reviews have a lot of themes that I noticed and want to discuss. This stream can serve as a great Starfield before you buy discussion. I will not be doing a Starfield walkthrough but we will be diving back into a gameplay live stream after this show. This will serve as a Starfield review roundup as well as my own personal Starfield first impressions from playing the game. I tried Starfield gameplay on both Xbox Series X and PC and will be doing a gameplay live show after this. I can already say that I greatly prefer Starfield PC gameplay vs Xbox but it is not the game many of us were hoping for. We will be looking at what the Matty Plays Starfield review along with Force Gaming and the Digital Foundry Starfield video to get a consensus. The thing I am looking forward to the most is the Starfield ship building but the reviews are mixed on how good it is and it shows up a bit late in the game flow. If you are looking for a Starfield review from some outlets you will have to wait a bit longer. The Eurogamer Starfield review in particular will be late given how they didn't get a code but then did. I just covered the Starfield leaked gameplay and now it seems Xbox and Microsoft are being selective with Starfield review codes. Does this mean they are trying to hide someting? Does it mean the game is rough shape? I don't think so, but something about this is very odd. There seems to a heavier focus on YouTubers and content creators versus UK press outlets. The new Starfield gameplay showed boundaries and my previous Starfield leak impressions were positive. So I will have to wait to do a Starfield review roundup. The latest batch of Starfield leaked gameplay is concerning given what it exposes. The new Starfield gameplay shows boundaries and how the generated tiles on the planets work. My Starfield leak impressions were previously mostly positive, but this is concerning. The latest Starfield leaks are causing headlines and video to emerge about "Starfield boundary reached". For now we wait for a Starfield review roundup and how outlets will feel about this. Even the way the planets operate is discouraging given how the tiles of the planet are not connected and don't appear to be saved. We were told this weeks GamesCom was going to be a weak sauce, and sure enough, Opening Night Live was a bit of re-hash of the same old Triple-A trailers we've come to expect this year! It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006), and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011. The game is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in Skyrim, the northernmost province of Tamriel, a continent on the planet Nirn. Its main story focuses on the player's character, the Dragonborn, on their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely. ________________________________________________________________________ Grab a beer, a slice of pizza and come hang out with us. Who better to dig into creating villains with than Bruce Nesmith - the man behind the Ravenloft Boxed Set? For those who don't know, Bruce started out in tabletop RPG design at TSR. He worked on MANY different products, but most notable (to me anyway) was his early involvement in the Ravenloft setting. In 1995 he made the switch to computer games by joining Bethesda Game Studios to work on Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. He remained with Bethesda until recently, working on Oblivion, The Shivering Isles, and being the lead designer on Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Most recently, he has ventured into novel writing, with his trilogy Loki Redeemed. The final book, Ymir's Return, is released this week! In this episode we dig into, amongst other things: Bruce's starting point when creating a villain, Motivations and making believable villains, Do you need a great villain for a great story, The differences between novel and game villains, Bruce's favourite Elder Scrolls Online villain, Ravenloft (we talk about Ravenloft a lot) villains, settings, and the great Castle itself, And we wrap it all up with Bruce Nesmith's Six Keys to a Great Villain! This week's guest at The Corner of Story and Game is Jeff Gardiner, the CEO and Founder of Something Wicked Games. Jeff has been producing video games for over 20 years, with credits on such major games as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. Like many of the other video game creators we have talked to, Jeff's roots start in Dungeons & Dragons - which is one of the first topics we discuss. We also explore areas relating to working as a creative and the challenges, but mostly focus on what it is like starting a brand new studio and a brand new IP - and what that means as far as writing and worldbuilding. While he doesn't share too many secrets behind their new game, Wyrdsong, he does give some very informative insights into how they came up with the core concepts and where it is leading. Adam Crowley's book Representations of Poverty in Videogames (Palgrave MacMillan, 2022) argues that digital games address contemporary, middle-class anxieties about poverty in the United States. The early chapters consider gaming as a modern form of slumming and explore the ways in which titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and World of Warcraft thematize poverty. The argument turns to the field of literary studies to identify analytical frameworks for addressing and understanding these themes. Throughout, the book considers how the academic area of inquiry known as game studies has developed over time, and makes use of such scholarship to present, frame, and value its major claims and findings. In its conclusion, the book models how poverty themes might be identified and associated for the purpose of gaining greater insights into how games can shape, and also be shaped by, the player's economic expectations. Rudolf Inderst is a professor of Game Design with a focus on Digital Game Studies at the IU International University of Applied Science, editor of “Game Studies Watchlist”, a weekly messenger newsletter about Game Culture and curator of @gamestudies at tiktok.
