Should Bears fans remain optimistic about Matt Nagy? Most of the evidence says no. Nagy has struggled to find an offensive identity since 2018 and Mitchell Trubisky shouldered a lot of that blame. Last show we talked about the heat getting turned up on Matt Nagy and it has been. There are no more scapegoats and the offense still looked lackluster in Nick Foles fist start. The optimistic Bears fan in us is willing to look past the rough showing and make excuses for it. Nick Foles does need to knock the rust off. There were a few missed opportunities. There were a few miscommunications that you would expect from a rusty starter. The Colts do have a solid defense. Even still, it's hard not to realize the reality of the situation. Matt Nagy has struggled to balance head coaching and playcalling duties. When asked about Cole Kmet's usage, he said 15 snaps weren't enough, and he needs to be out there more. How many times have Bears fans heard something like that come out of Matt Nagy's mouth? At the end of the day, Bears fans hope they're overreacting, but where there's smoke there's fire.
