Arcand dives into the praise that Josh McDaniels has been getting and compares it to when Bill O'Brien returned as OC in 2023. They both are expected to save the offense, but don't put the cart before the horse.
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death” (Hebrews 11:17-19). In our ears, the story of God's command to offer Isaac as a sacrifice is laced with ethical problems. How could God ask this? There's much in this story, told in Genesis 22, that will leave any thoughtful reader with questions, or that seems downright unspeakable. But the spare, skillful narrative points the way to its beating heart. The story is structured in three cycles. Three times, there's a summons to Abraham - first by God, then by Isaac, and then by the angel of God. Three times, Abraham's tender answer: "Here I am" (Genesis 22:1, 7, 11). Three times, a response. And those three cycles have Abraham's trembling reassurance to Isaac at their rhetorical center: "God himself will provide" - literally, "God himself will see to it." This is what the author of Hebrews draws to our attention. Isaac was the child of promise. Through him, the promise to bless the world, in fact, the promise to repair this sin-polluted creation, that promise would be fulfilled through Isaac. It was God's word, his promise. Now Abraham is commanded to sacrifice him. A test of faith indeed. God's promise and God's command are diametrically opposed to each other. Abraham is now a man of faith. This is God's problem to solve, not his. So, he goes to the Mount with his son. When Isaac askes, “Where is the lamb?” Abraham simple responds, “God himself will provide.” After God provides a ram for the sacrifice, Abraham names that mountain: Jehovah Jireh, "The LORD will provide." The church father, John Chrysostom noted that Genesis 22 is a "sketch ahead of time in shadow" for how God would one day provide for the putting right of God's whole world, once and for all. I think he was right. God said to Abraham, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love” (Genesis 22:2). Later, at Jesus' baptism, God speaks again saying, “This is my Son, whom I love” (Matthew 4:17). Eerily similar words – a sketch ahead of time in shadow. This dark story, in the end, foreshadows another journey taken untold centuries later. Jesus of Nazareth - Son of Abraham, and Son of God - would walk into that same mountain range, with wood on his back, and make the dreadful three-day journey into death. These are the lengths to which the divine Love would go for the sake of the world. Abraham's son was spared death. But God did not spare his own son. Isaac knew not what lay ahead. Jesus did. He willingly took up his wood; he went willingly to the altar of the cross; he willingly offered himself unto death. But death could not hold him. Abraham was right – God can and will raise the dead. Can we trust God in the face of a bleak future? Is God anywhere to be found when we're walking in darkness? Is God at all present in the horrors of human life? The empty cross and the empty tomb are the answer. The light has pierced the darkness. The promise of God is that someday, there will only be light, nor more darkness. With faith in that promise, we walk hopefully in the dark of our Mount Moriah. As you journey on, go with the blessing of God: May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you: wherever he may send you. May he guide you through the wilderness: protect you through the storm. May he bring you home rejoicing; at the wonders he has shown you. May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.

Shortly afterwards, he accidentally drove his car into a ditch, and called his parents asking for help. During a frustrating ordeal in the middle of the night, his parents couldn't find him amongst the flat farmland, even though he was confident he was in a particular area and giving them clear instructions. At Marine Street Beach, the crystalline waters reflect the brilliant glow of the sun, an ordinary day that turned out to be anything but. As image-capturing enthusiast and San Diego local, Jack Enright experienced, the tranquil scene was agitated by a roaring motorboat zooming directly towards him. With swift strokes, Enright slipped aside, instinctively turning his camera towards the spectacle that was evolving before him. A sleek boat packed with around eight individuals hastily hit the shoreline, an act so sudden, Enright couldn't be sure if the engine was even terminated. The scene befuddled onlookers and sent a ripple of shock through the serene beachfront. According to Enright's account to Fox News, pandemonium took over the peaceful day. The beachgoers were left stunned as this boatload of people dashed up a staircase towards the road, disappearing untraceably into the upscale neighborhood of La Jolla. As a San Diego native, Enright recognized the signs. Though he was witnessing it firsthand for the first time, he grasped the gravity of the scene unfolding. Despite the beauty of the setting, what laid before him was a glaring example of a rampant problem plaguing the Californian coastlines - a human smuggling operation in broad daylight. On that January 30, 2024, unsuspecting Marine Street Beach visitors witnessed suspected unauthorized immigrants run ashore. Eerily enough, only days before, a similar event had transpired on Windansea Beach, a mere half-mile to the south. Images of individuals, allegedly migrants, leaping into awaiting cars painted a haunting visual - a testament to the multi-faceted issues along the border. Episode 209 is the twentieth in a series covering the Secret Service and possible involvement in the coverup, or the actual plot itself to assassinate President Kennedy. Today's episode covers the plot to kill the president in Chicago on November 2nd, 1963. just twenty days before his actual assassination in Dallas. President Kennedy was scheduled to attend the Army Airforce Game in Chicago. Several days prior to his arrival, the FBI phoned the secret service Chicago office and apprised them that there was a plot afoot that deployed paramilitary gunman to kill the president. And that they were likely to be aiming at the president as he exited the expressway close to stadium. The clue was provided by a man with the first name of Lee. Shortly after a landlady came across rifles with scopes in one of four rooms that she had rented to four men, she concluded it was suspicious and informed the authorities. The head of the local secret service knew it was the plot that he had been forewarned about by the FBI. For reasons that are still, to this day, not completely clear, the FBI chose to "turf" the case entirely over to the secret service. They did so despite the fact that the secret service had minimal personnel in the Chicago office, consisting only of eight agents at the time. After a surveillance snafu, only two of the four men were identified and taken into custody for questioning. The other two men known to the landlady, were never identified or found. Meanwhile, through an unidentified tip, the authorities became aware of an ex-Marine that turned out to be a perfect patsy. Thomas Arthur Valley. His credentials looked surprisingly like Oswalds...both were marines, both served in the marines in japan at bases there, and both bases were CIA fortresses. With a history of far right leanings and connections to the John Birch society and later shown to have trained with anti-Castro Cubans, Valley had a sketchy mental health background. No doubt that he would have been considered a lone nut. A perfect patsy. He had recently taken a job in a manufacturing concern located in a multi-story building along the motorcade route, close to a point in the road where the president's limousine would come to the end of the expressway and stop, and then make a 90 degree turn. Eerily similar to the Dealey Plaza scenario. Details of the Chicago plot were sealed up by the secret service and apparently not made available to the planners in Miami, Tampa and the Texas trips including Dallas. It was many years later before the plots were revealed generally. Was there more to the story. Why were these details withheld from planners in Dallas?Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it, were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. This real-life story is more fascinating than fiction. No matter whether you are a serious researcher or a casual student, you will enjoy the fact filled narrative and story as we relive one of the most shocking moments in American History. An event that changed the nation and changed the world forever.

Hey Lifers!Welcome to your therapy Thursday where we answer your deep, dark and burning questions.Laura nearly died on her way to work today, Britt's needs to look out for the sucky sharks and Producer Keeshia has a big life update. Our vibes/unsubscribes for the week: Keeshia: Drew Birnie's Traction NewsletterBritt: American Nightmare on NetflixLaura: unsubscribing from SaltburnThen we jump into your questions! I have a beautiful friend. She is married and in a same sex relationship. She has one toddler and is pregnant with her second baby. Both share the same biological father, a sperm donor. I recently became good friends with a different mum friend through my husband. Her baby is the product of a sperm donation due to her husband's fertility issue. The two children of my two different mum friends look identical. Eerily similar. Both are pretty vocal and upfront about their IVF and sperm donation stories and the donor information they have shared with me is crazy similar; same nationality, same height, same age, same hair/eye colour choices etc. Do I bring it up with either of them? It seems entirely possible but I don't really know what to do. The kids look so alike! I've been with my partner for nearly 5 years. I have begun to realise that we are super different in many ways. He is really introverted and runs out of social battery fast. He prefers staying at home and gaming with friends whereas I love camping, going on road trips, adventures and travelling. We've tried some of these activities together and it uses up his energy pretty quickly or it just ends with a migraine from the sun and I don't really enjoy gaming. It worries me that our differences will get the better of us long term but I still really like him. For milestones such as birthdays and anniversaries he isn't very good at planning anything or getting any gifts and says that he has no time. Are shared interests really important in relationships/what would you do in this situation to decide if I'm in the right relationship? I go to a prestigious University and everyone there is well off and always very posh and well dressed (Rolex, Cartier, LV, the works). I've had to fake it till I made it my whole way through trying to fit in. I am often embarrassed in public by my family, they're polar opposite of me and are very loud and obnoxious, very Aussie if you know what I mean. I am a very self-conscious person and it'll ruin my day if I think someone is judging me and I'm scared this will happen. I don't want to offend them and I love them but is it okay for me to ask them to act differently and tone it down for my sake? Any help is appreciated. One of my closest friends has an almost 1 year old baby. Her partner and her are the type of people who love having TV on in the background at their house most of the day (e.g. think music videos, sport etc.). I've noticed that since having baby they have continued with this. I don't think bub is getting direct screen time but I would say they're getting a significant amount of indirect screen time. For example, my friend has commented to me before how much the baby loves watching TV and in videos she shares of the baby, the TV is always on in the background. I don't think my friend is aware that screen time is not recommended for children under 2 years. My question is should I bring the screen time national guidelines to my friends attention and if so how should I do this in a kind and non-judgemental way? In a chilling revelation, Joran van der Sloot has confessed to the murder of Natalee Holloway, almost two decades after she vanished in Aruba. The 36-year-old's confession was obtained by PEOPLE, shedding light on one of the most enigmatic cases in recent memory. According to the partial transcript, van der Sloot admitted to attempting to seduce Natalee on a beach. However, after the 18-year-old declined his advances, he attacked her. Van der Sloot stated, "she tells me 'no'… Uh, I insist. I keep feeling her up either way." In the ensuing altercation, he kicked her in the face, leaving her "unconscious, possibly even... dead," and then brutally struck her with a cinder block he found nearby. This heart-wrenching confession provides insights into the final hours of Natalee Holloway, an aspiring doctor who had traveled to Aruba to celebrate her high school graduation. She had been last seen leaving a bar with van der Sloot earlier that day. Van der Sloot recounted the chilling aftermath of the crime, saying he pulled Natalee's body into the ocean, let it drift away, and simply "walked home." This admission fills the void of years of speculation and anguish for Natalee's family. However, due to the statute of limitations for murder in Aruba, which stands at 12 years, it is unlikely that van der Sloot will face prosecution for this heinous crime. Further compounding the family's agony, Natalee was legally declared dead in 2012, but her remains have never been located. Making matters even more convoluted, van der Sloot had deceitfully extorted about $25,000 from Natalee's mother, Beth Holloway, in 2010. He falsely promised her answers about her daughter's mysterious disappearance. The deception did not end there. Van der Sloot subsequently used the extorted funds to flee to Peru. It was there that he committed another appalling crime: the murder of a 21-year-old student, Stephany Flores Ramírez. Eerily, this murder occurred exactly five years to the day of Natalee's disappearance. The web of crimes stretched even further. Van der Sloot's confession emerged as part of a plea agreement related to a federal case in Alabama, where he faced charges of extortion and fraud. He was handed a 20-year sentence for these financial crimes. This sentencing will run alongside his 28-year prison term in Peru. However, should he be released early from the Peruvian jail, he will be obligated to serve the remainder of his 20-year sentence in the U.S. The years of anguish have taken a toll on Natalee's family. However, this latest development has provided a semblance of closure. Outside the Birmingham, Ala. courthouse, Natalee's mother, Beth, remarked that van der Sloot's confession and subsequent sentencing meant "the end" to their "never-ending nightmare." She poignantly stated, "It feels victorious. Like we finally transitioned from the victim to the victor." The Holloway case, with its twists and turns, has gripped the nation for years. While justice may seem elusive in terms of a direct prosecution for Natalee's murder, the recent revelations and sentences offer some respite to a family that has endured unimaginable pain. In a recent episode of the "Hidden Killers" podcast, Tony Brueski sat down with Richard Forsythe, the brother of the mysteriously murdered Dr. John Forsythe, to discuss the baffling circumstances surrounding his death. As investigators weave together the fragments of this complicated case, the evidence has only thickened the plot. From the outset, the key topic of discussion was a perplexing camera footage showing what was believed to be the last moments Dr. John Forsythe was seen alive. Richard recalls, "The last footage we saw [was of him] in that parking lot...getting out, getting into another vehicle, going back to the car, but leaving his things there and walking off camera." The sequence raises more questions than it answers. Why would Dr. Forsythe leave his belongings in the car? And even more baffling, why would he walk off without his phone? One of the theories floated was the potential consumption of DMT or some other substance by Dr. Forsythe, which may have influenced his actions. However, it does little to shed light on the subsequent events that culminated in his being shot. Delving deeper into the camera footage, Richard seeks to correct misunderstandings and rumors that have clouded the investigation. Contrary to prior beliefs, the footage, which was unfortunately blurry, revealed no clear evidence of Dr. Forsythe entering another vehicle. Richard emphasized, "There's no evidence of that whatsoever." It seems initial rumors and incomplete information had birthed a narrative that was hard to undo. Adding to the mystery are a series of potential sightings and tips that arose following Dr. Forsythe's disappearance. Richard recounted: "There was an account of somebody sitting in an infinity black infinity M at the roaring river hatchery...and this tipster claimed that he definitely matched the photos we circulated in his missing poster photos." Yet, without concrete evidence or follow-up, such claims further muddle the waters. One might wonder if there were other surveillance cameras in the vicinity. To this, Richard acknowledged that while other cameras existed, relevant footage was hard to come by. "Some of my family went to the roaring river fishery to see if they had security cameras. They did, to see if they had footage. They did not have footage, unfortunately." Perhaps the most chilling piece of the puzzle is a photograph of Dr. Forsythe, known for his distaste for outdoor activities, on a fishing trip at Beaver Lake. Eerily, this is the exact location where his body was subsequently discovered. Richard expressed his shock: "I've got a photo of him on a fishing trip with an acquaintance and it's at the place where his body was found. And I think that is extremely bizarre." While the details and the chronology of Dr. John Forsythe's tragic end remain ambiguous, what is clear is the pain and quest for answers felt by those left behind. Richard's attempt to clarify the record, correct misconceptions, and seek the truth serves as a testament to the enduring love of a brother seeking justice. As listeners and readers absorb the unfolding mystery, the enigma continues: if not under the influence, why would Dr. Forsythe, a professional, leave his car and belongings, seemingly walking away from his life, only to meet a tragic end? With more questions than answers, one cannot help but ponder, What truly happened to Dr. John Forsythe? Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? May 1, 2002. San Francisco, California. After finishing a phone call with one of her sisters, 24-year old Evelyn Hernandez and her five-year old son, Alex Hernandez, vanish without explanation. At the time, Evelyn was only six days away from giving birth to her second child, but when she fails to resurface by her due date, she is officially reported missing. Over three months later, Evelyn's torso and legs wash up onshore along San Francisco Bay, but neither Alex nor the fetus for Evelyn's unborn son, Fernando, can be found. It turns out that Fernando's biological father was a married man whom Evelyn had been having an affair with, but no evidence is found to link him or anyone else to this crime. On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we cover a story involving a murdered mother and a missing boy which is often compared to the famous Laci & Scott Peterson case.Support the Show:Patreon.com/julesandashleyPatreon.com/thetrailwentcoldAdditional Reading:https://charleyproject.org/case/alexis-geraldo-hernandezhttps://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=131949&page=1https://people.com/archive/the-other-laci-peterson-who-killed-evelyn-hernandez-vol-60-no-1/https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Remains-may-be-S-F-woman-who-vanished-Remains-2789331.phphttps://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Torso-in-bay-is-identified-DNA-matches-that-of-2802079.phphttps://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Eerily-similar-case-languishes-in-obscurity-2621215.phphttps://www.modbee.com/news/local/crime/scott-peterson-case/peterson-preliminary-trial/article3096894.htmlThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4838527/advertisement

My guest today was the FIRST to reach the DEEPEST point of the ocean, known as Challenger Deep. In 1960 US Navy lieutenant Don Walsh and Swiss oceanographer and explorer Jacques Piccard piloted the bathyscaphe Trieste 35,797 ft BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE SEA, when itbecame the first crewed vessel to reach the bottom the Mariana Trench, the deepest point in Earth's seabed. My conversation with Don Walsh could not have predicted that such a disaster as the Titan submersible would have taken place. Walnuts. The most delicious walnuts. They can lead you down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole on your darkest days, but can also make you scratch your head about why things are the way they are. Do we accept them as "the way we do things?" Or do we try something new? Fourth-generation walnut farmer Kaben Kramer and his wife Jenn are trying new things and making a go of it. But a look at the history of the farm since 1980 and the industry numbers are really head-scratching. Northern Ireland has given up sovereignty to the European Union and is reaping the consequences of open borders, globalist policies, and cultural Marxism pervading its institutions and crushing the people's rights. Eerily similar to the United States, Ireland is facing a tipping point for its national identity. Irish Freedom Party president Hermann Kelly joins to describe the protests and advocacy from the people to reclaim their republic and what concessions of sovereignty does to a nation. It's a cautionary tale to America to show why we have to protect our sovereignty at all costs from those who would be disposed to usurp.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
