Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013, Lis van Lynden has refused to let the condition define her limits. With no prior cycling experience or training, Lis set off in 2022 on a solo, unsupported ride around the entire coastline of Great Britain—covering 5,000 miles over seven months and raising over £13,000 for MS charities. Her journey didn't stop there. Lis went on to cycle the Irish coastline and most recently visited 12 of the UK's national parks by bike, with plans to complete the final 3 in 2025. Along the way, she's faced physical challenges, experienced incredible acts of kindness, and become a passionate advocate for others living with MS. Lis's story is one of courage, conviction, and living life on her own terms—no matter the obstacles. *** Catch the latest episodes of the Tough Girl Podcast, dropping every Tuesday at 7 am UK time! When I started my business, I thought more clients and more money would mean more freedom — but it didn't. It just meant more work. If you're stuck below seven figures and feeling like your business owns you instead of the other way around, this episode is your wake-up call. I'm breaking down the real reason you can't scale yet — and it's not because you need to work harder. If you're ready to grow without losing your mind, you need to hear this.

Bookmark today and our source material as the definitive show proving once and for all that our founders never adopted a system of judicial supremacism. In fact, the courts are not even equal. Except for a couple of issues, Congress fully controls the structure, jurisdiction, and makeup of the Supreme Court. I explain how judicial supremacism was born out of a political, not constitutional, argument of deferring to the expositors of law. I arm Trump with all of the intellectual firepower he needs to push back against the courts. Also, DeSantis is right about the need for Congress to strip the courts of jurisdiction over issues like immigration. I provide the full history and legal rationale behind that provision of the Constitution. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Heston grew up ranching and training horses with his family but he went to college unsure what he wanted to do with his life. He fell back into rodeoing and riding some outside horses in college and then had an opportunity to go work for a guy that was building a horse program and that job allowed him to also day work and ride other outside horses. Heston was living the dream doing this but he realized it wasn't sustainable. He started keeping an eye out for other opportunities and of course he found one. It came in the form of running a feed store with the intention of ownership one day. Although it didn't work out like that. Unemployment found him seeking opportunities again and if course he found one in buying another Ag business. They've been able to grow Agrotech since taking the reins and he's been able to get back into some ranching and riding horses again. Monday Motivation: How to Keep Moving Against the Void Welcome to another Monday Motivation! This week, we're tackling a feeling that hits all of us sooner or later: facing the void, the wall, or even the battle against yourself. You know the moment when every step feels heavy, every task insurmountable, and you're just one lousy email away from grabbing a metaphorical (or literal) shovel. First, let's acknowledge that the void is real. Whether it's the creative block, burnout, or the sheer weight of responsibilities, the void can feel like it's swallowing you whole. It whispers lies: You're not good enough. You'll never get there. Why even try? And you know what? That void is full of crap. So, how do we fight back? Start Small, Start Nowbut When everything feels impossible, shrink your world to a tiny, doable thing. Write one sentence. Sketch one line. Make one decision. Starting is often the most challenging part, but it's also the most essential part. Momentum doesn't come from thinking—it comes from doing. Redefine “Progress” Progress isn't always finishing the thing. Sometimes, it's just showing up. Give yourself credit for every inch forward. Some days, success might be simply opening your sketchbook or brainstorming ideas without judgment. Battle the Inner Critic The harshest voice you'll ever hear is your own. Counter it with curiosity instead of criticism. Instead of asking, Why am I so bad at this? Ask, What can I learn from this? Shift your mindset from self-sabotage to self-support. Remember Your Why When the struggle gets real, reconnect with your “why.” Why do you create? Why did you start this journey? Your passion isn't just fuel—the fire that keeps you going when everything else feels cold. Laugh at the Absurdity Let's be honest: sometimes, the world feels ridiculous. Instead of letting it crush you, laugh at it. Humor is a weapon against despair. If you can find something funny—even if it's just imagining yourself wielding that shovel—you're already winning. Set Boundaries with the Void Not every battle needs to be fought. Some struggles aren't worth your time. Identify what truly matters and focus your energy there. Saying “no” to one thing is saying “yes” to something better. Lean on Others You don't have to face the void alone. Share your struggles with someone you trust, whether a friend, a mentor, or a fellow creative. Sometimes, just knowing someone else gets it can boost you. Celebrate Survival Even if today is a train wreck, you survived. That's worth celebrating. You push forward daily; no matter how small the step, you win the fight against the void. So, how do you keep moving? By showing up, laughing at the chaos, and never letting the void win. Tune in to the full episode for more tips, stories, and (maybe) shovel jokes. Let's face this week together—because you've got this. Check it out now at FWACATA.com!

Artificial intelligence is an actively surging field in today's digital landscape, and as each new AI interface reaches the public it throws into sharper resolution that all the big tech players are getting involved. And quickly. But where are the roots of this rapidly expanding industry's interests? How does AI impact individuals, established industries, and the future of our society if it continues to grow faster than it is critically examined? In his newest book Taming Silicon Valley: How We Can Ensure That AI Works For Us, author and scientist Gary F. Marcus uses his expertise in the field to help readers understand the realities, risks, and responsibilities the public faces as AI gains widespread traction. Taming Silicon Valley aims to compare and critique the potential futures that AI– alongside Big Tech strategies and governmental involvement– could present to our world. Marcus asserts that if used and regulated properly, there are openings for huge advancements in science, medicine, technology, and public prosperity. On the opposite side of the spectrum, there lie vulnerabilities to abuses of power, a lack of effective policy, and dwindling protections for intellectual property and fair democracy. Marcus emphasizes that AI is meant to be a tool, not an unchecked entity and that it is up to the public to choose how it is allowed to shape the paths ahead. His work sets out to provide context to how AI has gotten to its current state, guidance towards understanding what coherent AI policy should look like in the future, and a call to action in pushing for what is needed in real-time. In the tradition of Abbie Hoffman's Steal This Book and Thomas Paine's Common Sense, Taming Silicon Valley urges readers towards awareness, analysis, and activism in this pivotal time of new AI integration. Gary F. Marcus is an author, psychologist, scientist, and prominent voice in the field of artificial intelligence. He is Professor Emeritus of Neural Science and Psychology at NYU and was the founder and original CEO of Geometric.AI. His previous publications include Guitar Zero, Kluge, and Rebooting AI: Building Artificial Intelligence We Can Trust. Ted Chiang is an award-winning science fiction author. His publications include Tower of Babylon, Exhalation: Stories, and Stories of Your Life and Others, which has been translated into twenty-one languages. He is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker, particularly of non-fiction related to the intersections of art and technology. SERIES 3 EPISODE 37: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: I am only reading tea leaves here but Trump's panicked post yesterday about how HE did everything right on January 6th but the "deep state" let him down, followed by his afternoon lie about how Nancy Pelosi ignored his offers of troops MAY imply that he's gotten some sense of the evidentiary brief Jack Smith filed to Judge Chutkan before yesterday's deadline. I'm guessing that Smith is going to try to start by proving that long before January 6th Trump knew damn well that he had lost the election and thus no act he took to get a recount or challenge it was an "official act" and thus immune but simply a personal one for which he'll have to face charges. Smith's filing remains under seal. MEANWHILE BACK AT THE RANCH: So New York Mayor Eric Adams allegedly sold himself to Turkey's dictator for only about $17,000 a year? Adams is a messianic idiot and his "I'm not resigning" press conference began with him being shouted down by a critic with a bullhorn, and his defense seems to have been damaged by his niece telling everybody to stop criticizing the Mayor because Jesus put him there. AND LIKE I SAID: They published the "Iran Trump Hack" yesterday and it wasn't a big deal but the newspapers all made a big show over martyring themselves for supposed journalistic principles when in fact they weren't even sacrificing one good story. ALSO: Brian Ray has done a new version of the theme! We'll premiere it Monday but there's a quick tease here, just for you. B-Block (28:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: NYC Mayor doubleheader! Adams indicted, Giuliani disbarred. Media management suck up Dylan Byers accuses me of "rushing" to reveal something I actually stayed quiet about for more than a decade. And Clay Higgins managed to both try to walk back his racist, stochastic terror comments about Haitians AND double down on them at the same time! C-Block (35:13) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: Muggs isn't the sweetest dog Thurber ever wrote about. But he may be the most memorable: "The Dog That Bit People."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
