What if one morning, or afternoon, or evening, we suddenly came to the realization that we've been needlessly working hard for people who don't care about our ultimate welfare, and that death and taxes are not inevitable, that we can rise above them? Well, that's the message of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, that we're not meant for this world. We have a higher mode of existence which has to do with the goings-on in the spiritual world, which are full of bliss and knowledge and they're based on loving service, not hard work, drudgery, and death. And then, what if we found out there was a method through which we could transform our hearts and minds, and transfer ourselves to that realm? And then, what if we found out it was easily available to every human being who has a tongue and the inclination to be connected to that world? Well, such a thing has happened, and that's why we're here. So the rest of the world may consider that this is a normal place, but it's not—this, meaning the material world. And Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, to those who have a hankering for more, who have tasted something unusual and want to enter into that realm, has given the Mahamantra. So it's a prayer which is begging Kṛṣṇa and Rādhārānī for service. We're simply begging for service in that realm which may begin and does begin in this realm. The mode of service doesn't have to wait to be transferred somewhere; it has to do with our intention. So, as we chant today, we can remember how fortunate we are to have received this information from the spiritual world and the means to transfer ourselves there, even while we're in this world. Like a gardener without a garden, the eye remains empty without Love. What is the state of a human being without Love? He is like one who is denied all delicacies and whose mouth is filled only with dust. Without Love, one does not find the flow of the Sound Current. It is exactly the same: those who experience Christ here on earth, experience Paradise... Our task is to attempt to find a way to enter into the light of Christ." -Saint Porphyrios "416. Are you crying due to the grief due to lack of food, clothes and money? Sing Naam, sing Naam! Whether you desire it or not, food will be heaped at your doors, you will be able to feed thousands of people. Without seeking it, lots of money will fall at your feet. You will not have to worry about clothes; in fact, you will be able to distribute clothes to other people. Even if you want to renounce it, the objects and wealth you are indifferent to, will follow you. I am in no way exaggerating. Should you require proof, come to me I can give you a testimony of this. 417. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare: Keep chanting this mahamantra continu-ously. You will not have to worry about anything; God will take care of your entire burden. He will look after your needs; you will be free of all tensions. Just keep chanting Naam. Don't let a single breath be wasted. He who enthrones Naam on the asana (seat) once, he doesn't have to think of anything, the second seat is naturally taken by God. Wealth rolls at the feet of he who sings Naam. The singer of Naam sacrifices both sin and merit. By hearing Naam constantly, the Mother [kundalini] is awakened. Then she starts singing and dancing, emanating light both inside and outside the singer [She comes in the form of Nada]. The singer of Naam then keeps hear ing this spontaneous singing by the Mother. In the brilliant light of the Mother's body, the singer sees the devayana - the road to vaikuntha. At the time of departing from this life, he discards his outer frame and goes out by the Brahma-randhara and this liberated soul goes along the devayana, where he is worshipped by the gods and finally arrives at vaikuntha, at the feet of Sri Bhaga wan, who lifts him up and endears him." -Sri Sri Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnathji

Keep an AirPod in on low volume. Listen while you sleep. Listen while you play. Listen while you work. and chant, chant, 'chant and be happy!' "Chant Hare Krsna Mantra Sixteen Times--Please!So people are so rascal, they will not even chant Hare Krsna mantra. So Krsna is teaching. Krsna is so kind. He's personally teaching. That is, perform yajña. He's personally chanting, dancing, Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Personally, He's teaching us, "Perform this yajña you rascal, and you'll get everything. You'll get everything." Now, where is the proof? The proof is this Krsna consciousness movement. We are simply chanting Hare Krsna maha-mantra and spending millions of rupees. Simply. What we are doing? We are not doing any business. We have not many professional men.But why we are getting ..? We are spending eight hundred thousand rupees per month. And we have got food, we have got milk. We are feeding others also, bringing food. So why don't you see practically how these Krsna conscious people are fabulously rich. This question was raised in Parliament also. So how we became fabulously rich? We do not do anything. I have not taught you anything magic. I simply request you, "Chant Hare Krsna mantra sixteen times- please!!" But you are not even following that. This is the only remedy."-(Lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.8.18 /Mayapura, September 28, 1974)Helpful links--How and Why to Chant the Hare Krishna MantraMantra Chanting ChallengeSupport the show

Wake up an hour earlier to chant (think of it like your actual job that will pay you actual dollars) at least 12 rounds on your mala/prayer beads while hearing the words clearly. Hear the Names of God, even though your mind will be split and doing/thinking about other things. Keep bringing your attention back to the sound of the Name. That's all. Keep coming back to the Sound on your tongue and silence in your head. 2. Chant your last 4 rounds in the evening before bed. Throughout the day, allow your attention to be directed toward the mantra which will still be running in the background-- let It hangout in the foreground as you run errands, eat, drive, shower, etc. When you're home doing it formally, you can chant it just barely audibly, or loudly if you choose, but while out, you can keep it going silently within, or just allow your lips to move slightly with no sound. And that's it! We're starting with a week so you can 'try it on', but if you keep it up for at least 6 months, you'll drastically change your entire life for the better! Support the show

Live Kirtan from Mantra Night in Auckland. Chanting the Mahamantra
The Mahamantra can be translated as, “My Friend, My Friend, My Friend”. By chanting, we call out to Radha-Krishna and rekindle our friendship with Them. It's as simple as being true to the Holy Name. Our greatest fortune is that we have access and know about Krishna. When we perform positive, charitable actions and never stop chanting, it places us into the mindset of serving the center rather than being the center.
How do we practically put Krsna first in our pursuits? / Is personality a superficial aspect of the mind or do we have a transcendental personality? / how can one practice Ekadashi? / What do I do if I just can't connect with the Maha Mantra?
