Once, when I was on pilgrimage with my senior Godbrother, we were traveling to many temples. Every time we go into the temple, we would offer our obeisances and we were next to each other so we can hear the mantra we were chanting, which was: nama oṁ viṣṇu-pādāya kṛṣṇa-preṣṭhāya bhū-tale śrīmate bhaktivedānta-svāmin iti nāmine namas te sārasvate deve gaura-vāṇī-pracāriṇe nirviśeṣa-śūnyavādi-pāścātya-deśa-tāriṇe One of those times he looked at me and said, "So here we're coming to all these temples. Every time we come in, we pay our obeisances and we say Prabhupāda's praṇāma mantra—why are we doing that in front of all these Deities?" I said, "You're my senior Godbrother, you tell me." He said, "It's because we're telling the Deity who invited us to come in here. We all know from traveling that..(partially inaudible) very difficult with the visa situation. When you're traveling, if you miss it by a day, you're in trouble. You might have to take a new flight or not come. So what's our visa to come to the holy place? We come only under the protection of the śrī-guru-paramparā." And we find prevalence in Prahlāda's prayers when he had been elected by Brahmā and the other demigods to pray to Lord Narasiṁhadeva, because all of them had prayed, and Lord Narasiṁhadeva was unsatisfied, so they asked Prahlāda, "You go." In his prayers, Prahlāda says before Lord Narasiṁhadeva evaṁ janaṁ nipatitaṁ prabhavāhi-kūpe kāmābhikāmam anu yaḥ prapatan prasaṅgāt kṛtvātmasāt surarṣiṇā bhagavan gṛhītaḥ so 'haṁ kathaṁ nu visṛje tava bhṛtya-sevām "I cannot forget my spiritual master." He's there in front of Kṛṣṇa, in front of Lord Narasiṁhadeva, and he says, "I was falling into a blind well, a pit full of snakes, following the general populace." That's what most people do. They just follow the general populace; whatever's on television or on social media, they just adopt that style, that idea, and they go into the pit with everybody else. He said, "But my spiritual master saved me. Therefore, how can I ever give up this service?" "So 'haṁ kathaṁ nu visṛje tava bhṛtya-sevām—I'm the servant of my spiritual master." And he says it several times in his prayers to Lord Narasiṁhadeva. So, the approach is important. How we approach Kṛṣṇa is of utmost importance: that I come here as the "servant of the servant of the servant" to offer myself to You. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark

We want to advance, so we have to have courage; and that's the theme of this campaign. It's based on what Prabhupāda said when he told a couple of his disciples—Gurudāsa and Śyāmasundara—that when he was a child, he had gone to the Victoria Memorial which was being built and had scaffolding on it still, and he climbed to the top. Brahmānanda or Gurudāsa (I can't remember which one) said, 'Prabhupāda, you must have been very brave.' And he said, "I'm still brave. Who else would come to America alone to preach?" So that's the theme of this year. It's no fun holding back. We only experience our full potential when we're brave and we move forward. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

How To Kill Kālī | The Three Sacrifices of Tāntrik Sādhana

One of the distinctive features of Kālī pūjā is animal sacrifice. But you know, this is only practice for a much greater sacrifice: the killing of the paśu, that is, one's own sense of limited self. Notice how Sri Ramakrishna used the same sword that is reserved for the goat sacrifice to offer Mā Kālī his own head (the best form of Nara Bali, human sacrifice) and also how later in his sādhana, he used a subtle, internal sword to cut even his beloved Kālī in half, to discover Her formless aspect? This krama (process) of killing the literal, external animal, then killing the "paśu" (the animal within) and then finally even killing Mā as the "other" or "object of devotion" (in order to recognize Her as the Self) are the three stages of Tāntrik sādhana that I hope to explore with you a little bit in this talk. You see, to become Śiva you must first kill Brahmā as per the foundational Puranic story of the beheading of Brahmā and the transformation of Śiva into Bhairava, the Kāpālika par excellence. This narrative arc is the age old process of going beyond religion to spirituality, from externalized institutions to the interiority of genuine mysticism. Its at its core a story about transcending the rules and regulations (and above all, externally and societally informed purity codes of the Vedācāra all of which at one point can be spirituality productive but eventually become obstacles to intimacy, to true interiorization. And to get to Mā you have to then kill Śiva! Otherwise, on what corpse will Mā dance? We gave this talk a day or two after the Śyāma-Kālī pūjā and clearly we're in some kind of bhåva because this might be one of our more controversial, yet most honest and if I may say so, most inspired  discussions we've had in a while: Khadganāthāya namah! Śīghram! Śīgrham! Kuru Kuru Svāhā!Mā, idam māmsa ca raktam! Mā, esha sa-pradīpa śirsha! Rudhirapriye, Balipriye, Grhna imam! Grhna imam! Prasīda, prasĩda! Siddhi me bhavatu, Devī Tvat prasādān, Vameśvarī!Salutations to the performer of the animal sacrifice!Quickly! Quickly! Do it, quickly! May it be an offering!O Mā, here is some meat! Here is some blood! Here is the severed head with the burning lamp!O You who are fond of blood and sacrifice,Come! Come and take this and be pleased, Mother!Grant us power and perfection, O Goddess of the Left, By Your grace alone is anything possible. MāLead us from religion to spiritualityFrom externalized institutions to the interiority of genuine mysticism From purity to powerFrom morality to freedom From the periphery to the centre!Support the showLectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PST and again at Friday 11am PST Use this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrM

Is a monk living in a temple necessarily deeper than someone living an ordinary life in the world—or could it be the other way around? In this episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore that question through Brother Lawrence's realization that you don't have to leave ordinary life to find God—you only have to bring God into ordinary life. That insight opens directly into the stunning conclusion of Krishna's childhood pastimes in the Tenth Canto of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, where after humbling Brahmā with cosmic revelation, Krishna returns to the simplest childhood games, revealing that the deepest exchange of love doesn't require grandeur at all. ******************************************************************** LOVE THE PODCAST? In the mountains of western North Carolina, something ancient waits in the darkness. For over eight hundred years, mysterious lights have appeared above a low ridge called Brown Mountain, dancing across the sky in ways that science cannot explain and folklore cannot forget. Tonight, we journey into the heart of Appalachia's most enduring supernatural mystery. This episode begins with the Cherokee legend of a great battle fought in 1200 A.D. between the Cherokee and Catawba Nations. When the fighting ended and hundreds of warriors lay dead across the mountain, the women from both tribes came searching with torches held high, calling out for husbands and sons who would never answer. According to the legend, some of those women never stopped searching.Eight centuries later, their torches still burn on the ridgeline. We explore the first documented white witness to the phenomenon, a German cartographer named John William Gerard de Brahm who observed the lights in seventeen seventy one and tried to explain them as nitrous vapors catching fire. We follow the story of Fate Wiseman, whose family legend about a faithful servant searching for his lost master became the famous bluegrass song that made the Brown Mountain Lights a household name across America. The episode delves into darker territory with the murder of Belinda, a young healer whose abusive husband killed her and her newborn child sometime before the Civil War. According to local legend, the mysterious lights led searchers to her hidden grave, and they still appear above that ravine to this day.We examine the government investigations of nineteen thirteen and nineteen twenty two, when scientists declared the mystery solved by attributing the lights to train headlights and automobiles. We reveal how the devastating flood of nineteen sixteen destroyed that explanation entirely when the lights continued appearing even after all the trains stopped running and the roads washed away. The narrative takes us through the strange case of Ralph Lael, a furniture salesman who claimed to have followed one of the lights into a cave where he made contact with beings from Venus. We hear about Tommie Hunter, who actually touched one of the lights in nineteen eighty two and felt an electric shock surge through his body while six witnesses watched. We follow TV journalist John Carter into the woods after midnight, where he watched a glowing orb approach his group in a zig-zag pattern before making a dramatic turn and vanishing into nothing. Modern investigations receive thorough coverage, including the work of Dr. Daniel Caton at Appalachian State University, whose team accumulated over six thousand hours of camera footage and still couldn't explain everything they recorded. We explore the theories of paranormal researcher Joshua Warren, who believes the unique geology of Brown Mountain creates conditions for ball lightning and who successfully recreated similar phenomena in his laboratory. Throughout the episode, we encounter the many legends that have accumulated over the centuries. The lover's light, where a young woman still holds her torch waiting for a groom who never arrived on their wedding night. The Civil War ghosts, soldiers in blue and gray still searching for fallen comrades. The Revolutionary War patriots, still carrying the flame of liberty through the eternal darkness. This is a story about mystery and meaning. About the places where our certainty breaks down and the universe reminds us that it still contains secrets. About love so powerful it became visible, and grief so profound it became eternal. Whether you believe the lights are spirits of the dead, ball lightning generated by geological forces, or something we haven't discovered yet, one thing is certain. The Brown Mountain Lights are real. They've been appearing for eight hundred years. And somewhere in the darkness of Linville Gorge, the search continues.

Psychedelics can shoot you to the summit, but they can't make you a mountain climber. You may get a glimpse of the view, but the glimpse doesn't change you — you didn't build the muscles, you didn't shed the weight, and you didn't face the inner terrain that actually transforms a person. In this episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore the difference between quick-hit "insight" culture and the steady, muscle-building path of Bhakti, drawing powerful lessons from Lord Brahmā's humility in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. It's an honest, humorous dive into why real growth means doing the inner work — not looking for shortcuts. From psychedelic detours to Facebook flame wars, from ego trips to genuine surrender, this episode blends ancient wisdom with modern mischief in the signature WOTS style. Key Highlights * Raghunath's mushroom story is back. * Brahmā: four heads, cosmic mastery, still doing the uncomfortable inner work… one apology at a time. * Why psychedelics may give you the view — but Bhakti builds the muscles to actually live there.

Rūpa Goswāmī explains that we understand the hierarchy of The Lord's manifestations in terms of His qualities. And one of His qualities is that He plays a flute. Think about that: He is a musician. Once, when somebody asked Prabhupāda why Kṛṣṇa (God) plays a flute, Girirāj Mahārāj told us, Prabhupāda said it means that He is all play and no work. In the 1960s, way before you guys were born, here in the Bay Area, you could have a sighting of a certain kind of creature called the hippie. And lots of hippies played flutes. They also had bare feet, just like Kṛṣṇa is bare feet, and they had long hair, just like Kṛṣṇa has long hair. They played their flute, and they'd sit on the sidewalk. They had an idea also that they would be all play and no work. But it didn't work out, because then the '70s came, and then the '80s, and everything was finished, because everyone went back to business school and forgot about being hippies. They had to work hard, and most of them died early. So utopia, or the land of eternal happiness, is there in this association with Kṛṣṇa. And it comes down through sound when Kṛṣṇa plays His flute. Brahmā, the first living being in the universe, hears it. Then he realizes the Absolute Truth through the flute sound. That same sound can be transferred from one devotee to the next. Prabhupāda gives a statement, which we should not overlook, in his purport to a verse in the Madhya Līlā, in which he says that same flute sound that Brahmā heard at the beginning of creation, which endowed upon him enlightenment, is fully present now in the form of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahāmantra. So, we should listen for that sound. Our purpose in life is to organize in such a way that we can hear the sound of the spiritual world. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Transcendental poets and experts in spiritual science could not fully express their indebtedness to You, even if they were endowed with the prolonged lifetime of Brahmā, for You appear in two features — externally as the ācārya and internally as the Supersoul — to deliver the embodied living being by directing him how to come to You. https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/11/29/6 ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Cc Madhya 21.1-149 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/21/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura gives the following summary of the twenty-first chapter. In this chapter Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu fully describes Kṛṣṇaloka, the spiritual sky, the Causal Ocean and the material world, which consists of innumerable universes. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu then describes Lord Brahmā's interview with Kṛṣṇa at Dvārakā and the Lord's curbing the pride of Brahmā. There is also a description of one of Kṛṣṇa's pastimes with Brahmā. In this chapter the author of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta has presented some nice poems about the pastimes of Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa's superexcellent beauty. Throughout the rest of the chapter, our intimate relationship (sambandha) with Kṛṣṇa is described. How could we enter into Vrindāvan? How could we have a relationship with Kṛṣṇa? Revive our original relationship with Kṛṣṇa? The way that Yaśodā and all the residents of Vṛndāvan did. Isn't that what everybody here wants to know? Isn't this why you came to Brahmāṇḍa Ghāṭ today? This was what Rāmānanda Rāya said, and Lord Caitanya accepted. He said: jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām (SB 10.14.3) Brahmā said, "Throw away as far as you can throw it, any idea of figuring out Kṛṣṇa with your intellect. Make no attempt by your intellect to try to understand Kṛṣṇa, because if you could understand Kṛṣṇa by your intellect, he wouldn't be Kṛṣṇa. He would be some ordinary person. jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām He recommended something that all of you are doing. Do you want to know what he recommended that you're already doing and what you're doing right now? He recommended dedicating one's life to hearing about Kṛṣṇa. Why did you come on this Yātrā? You just wanted to hear about Kṛṣṇa. Admit it. I want you to admit it. All you wanted to do was hear about Kṛṣṇa, right? So he said, "Jīvanti" means "just live for this." If all you do is live, stay alive somehow or other, so that you can hear about Kṛṣṇa in the next class, your life is perfect. All you need is a little khicaḍī and some ācār and maybe a pāpaḍam, but definitely some lime or lemon. Lime is better. That's all you want, so you can stay alive, a little something to feed the fire in the belly. Then all you want is a little place to lie down. It has to be clean. Maybe a mat, a straw mat. Is that good enough? A little straw mat, maybe six and a half feet? Is that good enough? Okay, so all you need is a little khicaḍī, some ācār, maybe pāpaḍam, lime, and a mat to lie down on, so that you can stay alive. You wake up and you think, "Okay, I'm still alive, right?" And then you say, "What do I do now?" Nothing else to do but hear about Kṛṣṇa. So Brahmā said, "Make this your life," or he said, "If it is your life, that's the perfect life. Lord Śiva is described in this verse as the chief of all thinkers. Lord Śiva, of course, does not engage in useless mental speculation, but as stated in the previous verse, he is always thoughtful regarding how to deliver the demons from their fallen condition of life. It is said that during the advent of Lord Caitanya, Sadāśiva appeared as Advaita Prabhu, and Advaita Prabhu's chief concern was to elevate the fallen conditioned souls to the platform of devotional service to Lord Kṛṣṇa. Since people were engaged in useless occupations which would continue their material existence, Lord Śiva, in the form of Lord Advaita, appealed to the Supreme Lord to appear as Lord Caitanya to deliver these illusioned souls. Actually Lord Caitanya appeared on the request of Lord Advaita. Similarly, Lord Śiva has a sampradāya, the Rudra sampradāya. He is always thinking about the deliverance of the fallen souls, as exhibited by Lord Advaita Prabhu. Would you like to inherit the kingdom of God? Just say, "Yes." Brahmā says, there's one technique, and that is whatever happens to you in this world—and the same kinds of things happen to all of us, understand that this is the mercy of God, because this world is not for enjoyment. It's an Airbnb, it's an Uber. You don't own it. You don't get to keep it. You don't get to stay. So why are we here? It's a classroom. We're meant to learn something. And if you accept that God's creation is perfect, and the way that He interacts with His devotees is for their ultimate good, and you accept that in your life, and you tolerate whatever miseries come as the special gift of God to purify you of your last vestiges of attachment to the material world, he said, then you inherit the kingdom of God ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #prabhupadapicks #backtogodhead #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

When Brahmā saw this little child in Vṛndāvan playing with his friends, some of them were stealing food from one another, putting it in their mouths, taking it out, and giving it to another, like kids do sometimes, he thought, “Why is everybody making a big deal? This couldn't be the Supreme Personality of Godhead.” So he played a trick and stole the calves and cowherd boys. Kṛṣṇa re-manifested them exactly the way they were, and Brahmā became extremely bewildered and offered prayers to Kṛṣṇa. One of the first prayers, which is very famous, is: jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām (SB 10.14.3) You're going to be happy to hear this, because in this verse spoken by Lord Brahmā, he says, “Forget about trying to understand God with your intellect, completely forget.” He's the smartest person—he got 16 million on his SAT—and he said, “Forget about trying to understand God with your intellect.” Jñāne prayāsam udapāsya! 'Jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām.' Jīvanti means, “If all you do is stay alive somehow or other so you can make it to the Bhāgavatam class and hear about Kṛṣṇa, if that's all you do, “What do you do?” “I just try to stay alive.” “Why?” “Because I want to go to the class. I just want to hear about Kṛṣṇa.” 'Jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām.' He said, then your life was perfect. You don't have to do anything else. And then Brahmā says: 'Sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir.' This means you don't have to quit your day job. No moving to the Himalayas. "Sthāne sthitāḥ.” Sthitāḥ means, “Stay, stand, don't move. Just stay in your position and hear about Kṛṣṇa and worship that vibration with your body, mind, and words.” And then he says something remarkable and that is just by that simple process of bhakti—of hearing about Kṛṣṇa, revering the transcendental vibration, the līlā of Kṛṣṇa, the instructions of Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad Gītā— 'sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām." Kṛṣṇa is known as ajita, which means he's unconquerable, but he becomes conquered by the love of his devotees. He's submissive to his devotees' love, and one develops this love by hearing about Kṛṣṇa from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

O my Lord!

This is the title of Jagannath Puri itself-- Vipralambha Kṣetra, the place where Caitanya Mahāprabhu goes to dive deeply within this mood of separation. The residents of Vṛndāvana felt. And so, the benefit of this festival, of course, there are many verses. We have read some in the Nectar of Devotion. There are many verses in the various Purāṇas, that if somebody sees Lord Jagannātha on his cart, or hears about his pastimes, such a person gets eternal benefit. It even says they'll go back to Godhead. And for those who have dedicated themselves to Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and his movement, Brahmā gives us a verse in his prayers to Lord Kṛṣṇa that is uplifting and directive. He says: jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām (SB 10.14.3) And a key part of this verse is where Brahmā says, "jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām," and the word "jīvanti" means to live, but to live for what? To live just to hear about Kṛṣṇa, as is mentioned in this verse, "Don't try to speculate. Don't try to follow your own path." This morning, we were on a japa walk. We went three times around the entire block, and at the end, we had a sharing session to see how it was for everyone and how the japa went. And Bhāgavata Prāṇa, who's sitting right here, said that he had gotten a little behind the parikramā, and so he thought he would cut across somehow and try to catch up. He found himself in the middle of a sprinkler that went off. Dogs barking, (I'm embellishing, a little), zigzag, lost, couldn't find it. And when he finally caught up at the end, he said, "Better just to follow the straight path." The moral is, don't try to take a shortcut. And so, "jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ" means that if you simply take the authorized version given through paramparā and hear about Kṛṣṇa, that's your life. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

When you inquire, there's going to be a response, because Kṛṣṇa is fully responsive. So it's quite natural when one evolves. It's not Darwinian evolution that matter evolves, but we, the soul, evolve through different species by the law of karma. When we come to the human form of life, there's a natural sense of inquiry. And when one exercises that inquiry, then Kṛṣṇa, who's the Antaryāmī within everyone's heart, He says in the Gītā: "Teṣāṁ satata-yuktānāṁ bhajatāṁ prīti-pūrvakam dadāmi buddhi-yogaṁ tam yena mām upayānti te," that if you are sincere and you inquire, then I'll guide you from within the heart. So because Brahmā was deeply self-searching, even though he was born into ignorance, he did have that impetus to ask. And Kṛṣṇa fulfilled his desire: "uvāca puratas tasmai tasya divyā sarasvatī" (Bs. 5.24). Divyā Sarasvatī appeared before him as a representative and gave him a mantra: "tapas tvaṁ tapa etena tava siddhir bhaviṣyati" (Bs. 5.25), and she said, "You take this mantra and you'll have all perfection." Then Brahmā chanted the mantra; he got clear knowledge. He also met personally with Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa gave him, heart and soul, all the knowledge that he needed, which is the truncated version of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam in four verses. What is the access point for all of us in talking about conquering the heart of Kṛṣṇa? We hear the pastimes in which great devotees conquer Kṛṣṇa's heart, but how is it that we all have access? Well, we heard this morning that one of the ways is to understand what "providential" means. Once, when I was having a managerial crisis, I consulted some godbrothers about what to do, and they tried to placate me by saying, "It'll probably be all right." And I've heard that a lot before, throughout my whole life, and it wasn't necessarily true. I came home and was still quite disturbed about the situation, which I won't go into now, because I'm sure you have many of your own. Then I got an email from one of my godbrothers who had been there when I had gone to consult with several of them, they happen to be in one place same time. And he said, "Oh, maybe this will help you." It was a verse from the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam in the pastimes of Pṛthu Mahārāja. Pṛthu Mahārāja had been engaged in performing his 100th horse sacrifice, but it was thwarted by Indra, as you know, who became envious and didn't want to see him complete it, because he's known as the one who's done 100 horse sacrifices—Indra, that is. He disguised himself several times as a sannyāsī (which he's not), and he stole the sacrificial horse and rode off into the sky with it a couple of times. Pṛthu Mahārāja, his son, chased after him. Finally, Pṛthu Mahārāja said, "Oh, I'm going to kill him." The priest there said, "Not a good idea. We'll kill him. We'll use our power of mantra, and we'll suck him into the fire, and he'll be killed in that way." Then Brahmā came and said, "You can't kill Indra. He's a devotee." And at that time, Brahmā gave a verse to Pṛthu Mahārāja, saying that these kinds of twists of fate come to us, and we have to learn to tolerate them when there's nothing else that can be done. In the purport, Prabhupāda said, "When something's providential, and you have to learn to tolerate, just as Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, what else can you do?" When I read that, I felt relief, amazingly, as if I had taken a magic pill. There's a way in which we have the opportunity to enter into the mercy of Vṛndāvana and avail ourselves of the Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu's mercy by ārya-vacasā—following the order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In the Second Canto of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, in the matter of the catuḥ-ślokī Bhāgavatam, Śrīla Prabhupāda writes in a purport that "The order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is a manifestation of His internal potency." I'll say that again: "The order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is a manifestation of His internal potency." And then he goes on. You want to hear the second part? (Yes) "It is by that particular potency that one comes to see the Personality of Godhead face to face." When I read that, I thought, "Oh, this is access." I had spoken with the scholar and great devotee, Rādhikā-ramaṇa Prabhu, when we stayed at his house in Utah, and we had a conversation about access. And he said, "Scholars everywhere, philosophers everywhere, say that whatever philosophy you may present, if it has no access point for people in general, that philosophy is useless." What good is it to us? It sounds good, but where do we come in? And finding the access point is always important, because we want something to do, and we want to know what's in it for us, right? so this is the order. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, which is abundantly available to anybody. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/

It comes from the root word viśeṣa, which means specific or special. It's a name of Kṛṣṇa, indicating that His creation is unique in every aspect, and that means that there's no one particle that's the same as another. There's no one relationship that Kṛṣṇa has, as Brahmā mentions in his prayers, in the 14th chapter, of the 10th Canto, that it's multifaceted, or unlimitedly faceted, his relationships with living beings—they're all unique. So it means "unique Kṛṣṇa's unique nature and His unique creation." It's also a name of Lord Balarāma, found in the Balarāma-sahasranāma, where it says He is the knower of Vaiśeṣika philosophy. And it's also an atheistic philosophy by Kaṇāda. In that philosophy, the word viśeṣa, or the root word viśeṣa, indicates his philosophy of how the universe works—their unique particles that, as I alluded to before, they have different properties, and when they mix in the combinations and permutations, they form, the different forms in the world appear from that process. And if you consider my name to be Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, and I would serve those who are illusioned by that philosophy by giving them Prabhupāda's books, that's a service that I would like to offer to the Vaiśeṣikas. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Moving Toward Safer Pediatric Transport Care in EMS Insights from Dr. Nick Cochran-Caggiano's Research on Pediatric Transport and Resuscitation By Bram Duffee, PhD, EMT-P Transporting children in ambulances presents unique challenges that EMS providers face every day. Issues like the correct use of safety equipment, performance of life-saving procedures like CPR, and the absence of universal standards can make pediatric care in emergency settings more difficult than necessary. Dr. Nick Cochran-Caggiano, an emergency physician and researcher, has taken a deep look into these challenges through two pivotal studies that every EMS worker should know about. Both studies were discussed on the latest podcast episode of “EMS Research with Professor Bram.” The Unsafe Reality of Pediatric Transport in Ambulances One of Dr. Cochran-Caggiano's studies, published in Pediatric Emergency Care (2023), examined how children are secured during ambulance transport. The study reviewed over 3,000 cases by observing video footage of ambulances arriving at a pediatric emergency department. The findings reveal a troubling reality:  Just 53.5% of children were transported using the correct safety device for their weight.  A staggering 77.1% of transport restraints were not used properly, putting children at significant risk.  Commercially made pediatric restraints were found to be the best option, yet these were still improperly used half the time.  For many patients, ambulance cots were the default method of transport, but this was only the correct choice in 18.2% of cases. Dr. Cochran-Caggiano shared his thoughts on this alarming data during a recent interview, emphasizing that the absence of consistent safety standards puts children at unnecessary risk. "Having some sort of ability to transport children safely is a must," he said. He also pointed out the pitfalls of the current patchwork approach to pediatric safety in EMS. "There's no appropriate way to secure [a child's car seat] to an ambulance stretcher. You can make a good faith effort, but that's really all it is." Why This Matters Improper restraint practices don't just violate safety protocols—they create scenarios where otherwise preventable injuries become inevitable. Reflecting on the need for systemic change, Dr. Cochran-Caggiano pushed for a proactive approach, stating, "Let's make a difference before

We find in the Bhāgavatam, in the second verse of the First Canto, the amazing statement: 'sadyo hṛdy avarudhyate 'tra kṛtibhiḥ śuśrūṣubhis tat-kṣaṇāt.' And that is, that when somebody applies himself or herself to hearing Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, then the Lord feels compelled to stay within that person's heart, or as Prabhupāda says He remains packed up within the heart of that person. He won't leave because He's so attracted by the Bhāgavatam and to a person who would give attention to hearing Bhāgavatam that it's presented as if He can't leave. That's emphasized also in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, 10th Canto, 14th Chapter, where Brahmā says: 'sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām,' indicating that, although Kṛṣṇa is unconquerable, He becomes conquered by the devotee who steadfastly hears about Him. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Kṛṣṇa gives facility for everyone to either try to ensconce oneself in the material energy and pull the covers over their head and just be absorbed in the material energy. However, His ultimate purpose is to give an opportunity for everyone to realize the path of bhakti. Amongst the Vedas that I mentioned, Brahmā manifested earlier. He also manifested the Purāṇas. And of course, we get, in the recent age, the essence of all the Vedas and all the Purāṇas in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. And we also get the essence of the process through Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu of practicing all the Vedas through the nāma-saṅkīrtana, which is available to everyone. And then here we are connected to the line of Lord Caitanya and the great ācāryas. So, we have the opportunity to take the essence of the spiritual knowledge that Brahmā, manifested under the direction of Kṛṣṇa, and make it available, and take advantage of it ourselves and make it available to everybody in the world. How can he be satisfied in the self through this gratitude ? That is mentioned in one of the verses that Uddhava says at the very end of the Uddhava-gītā (SB 11.29.6), "naivopayanty apacitiṁ kavayas taveśa brahmāyuṣāpi kṛtam ṛddha-mudaḥ smarantaḥ," in which he says, 'When I think of you, Kṛṣṇa, the way you take care of me from within and without, I'm so grateful that I couldn't express that gratitude. Even if I had a few life spans of Brahmā, I wouldn't come to the end of it.' And based on that, one of our ācāryas says the devotees remember Kṛṣṇa's promise in the Bhagavad-gītā: "sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ. I'm here for you. I'll deliver you from all the problems. Just give them to me." And Jīva Gosvāmī says that the devotee always remembers Kṛṣṇa's promise. And in that, while we're chanting japa, we take the time to notice the conveyor belt. Just take shelter of Kṛṣṇa's mercy that he says, 'Just hand over your problems to me and take shelter of me. I'll absolve you of all these difficulties.' And then notice that you're not your problems.
