Sorcha goes, “This is exciting, isn't it, Ross?” because – yeah, no – we're having dinner in Iguazu, a new hipster restaurant on Camden Street, where there's no actual menu and an algorithm chooses what you're going to eat based on the answers you provide to 10 questions when you're booking. It has been another tough year for restaurant and café owners – according to the Restaurant Association of Ireland, two venues a day are closing as businesses struggle to make ends meet amid rising inflation and a spike in payroll costs. On this week's episode of Inside Business, host Ciarán Hancock is joined by Vanessa Murphy, co-owner of Las Tapas de lola on Camden Street in Dublin's city centre, and Aisling Rogerson, owner of the popular Fumbally café and bakery in Dublin's Liberties. On this episode we heard from a woman who described how she and two friends were attacked early on Sunday morning in Dublin City Centre...and nobody helped! This is a shocking story about how dangerous the city can be on a night out.
Willkommen, bienvenue, and welcome to Episode Four. This week I'm super excited to chat with one of the loveliest, funniest, smartest and most gloriously irreverent people on this planet; my lovely chum, Mark Congiusta. (Fair warning, this one's sweary. Oops!)Mark made the terrible mistake of hiring me waaaaaay back in 2010. He knew it was a terrible mistake because he left the agency and moved to the other side of Ireland a mere three months later. No, he really did. (None taken, Mark). In reality though, Mark single-handedly changed the trajectory of my life when he hired me and I wouldn't be where I am today without him. Nor would I be semi-barred from Eddie Rockets on Camden Street in Dublin, but that's a story for another podcast… whenever I get around to recording my memoirs. Mark's pandemic music, and the music that has sound tracked his life, not only confused my Spotify algorithm, but also helped me discover some new music, and revisit some old favourites with a fresh perspective. In this week's episode, Rob Jacomen and Ryan Staton, Co-Hosts of The Trusted Advisor Show are honored to sit down with a very special guest, Kate Lawrence, the Founder and Partner of Lawrence Law to share her amazing success story. Backed with hard work, belief in her dream and the determination to overcome the challenges of entrepreneurship, Kate founded Lawrence Law in 2013 to build her construction law practice after several years working as a business lawyer and litigator. Under Kate’s leadership from 2013 to 2019, Lawrence Law focused exclusively on serving the legal needs of the construction industry, and Kate grew the firm to be an established leader in the field. Kate also served as leader in the construction industry itself. She currently holds leadership positions in multiple industry trade organizations, including serving as the Chapter Attorney for Associated Builders and Contractors, Greater Baltimore. This is one of the most inspiring and uplifting interviews we've ever had the pleasure of doing. Kate is a true visionary and business community leader whose list of achievements and entrepreneurial accomplishments are too long and distinguished to mention them all here. Most importantly, Kate reveals what she values most in life...her amazing children, supportive husband and relationships, first and foremost, and, how to balance family, business, relationships, community service and leadership. And the best part...Kate shares her heart-felt and personal story of the challenges she has faced as a woman in two traditionally male-dominated industries (Legal Profession and Construction) and what it took for her to rise to the top and prove she could achieve her goals and dreams! To connect with Kate directly and learn more about Lawrence Law, LLC:

I spoke to Gary Perry about the company's long history, how they've been serving Ireland's Jewish community for decades and why Corrigan and Sons came to be the funeral directors for medical school donor bodies. He gave me a tour of the venerable building which included the coffin showroom. Gary explained how families are now looking for more eco-friendly choices.
