In a frank interview about his desperate struggles with gambling and alcohol addiction, Steven Caulker reflects upon his difficult journey with Mark and Andros - who experienced similar problems to his former teammate and good friend as a young player. From training by himself through being shunned by ex-colleagues and turned down by 70 clubs, he's suffered many a setback. But circumstances are looking up. Now plying his trade at Turkish side Alanyaspor, Steven is in a much better place mentally and, it seems, geographically - he spends his afternoons walking along the beach, playing his guitar and fishing! He also reveals how he's now in touch with current players at the highest level who are going through the same tribulations as he did.

The usual trio of Grant, Danny and Gary are back to dissect a fairly miserable week for the Dees, helped only by the capture of Steven Caulker. We go through the Cup exit, chucking away 3 points at Killie, before going through a few mailbag questions. The episode was recorded before the fantastic result against Thistle, but due to "technical difficulties" (e.g. Gary's laptop turning the recording into static) we've only just got around to publishing it. Call it a time capsule piece. Instead of talking about losing to Dnipro and Norwich properly, Jack sang a song and Raj had a meltdown about people running around in the woods on The Walking Dead. No, really. We regrouped and actually had a decent discussion about the games, if you were maybe worried, but we'd rather have found a corner to gently sob and rock in. Joined by two Cardiff fans before this weekends game, we thanked them for Gareth Bale and checked in on Steven Caulker before getting all Paxman about their red shirts and mental owner. Many thanks to Joel and Steve for putting up with us questioning their morals. All aboard the banter bus...apparently. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Another win under Tim Sherwood to discuss, the lads look back to the Palace game, with special attention paid to poor old Jason Puncheon. Also discussed was Lewis Holtby's future, Nabil Bentaleb being the second coming and the possible passing of Capoue to Napoli. Then joined by Matt from Lost Boyos, this weekends game was firmly on the agenda. We talked Laudrup, Martinez and Rodgers, as well as players such as Bony, Caulker, Sigurdsson and Michu. Not to mention Gareth Bale's enormous, talent. I wouldn't listen if I was a Cardiff fan, we weren't very nice. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
