Hahn breaks down which members of this championship core could someday join Jalen Brunson in the rafters. He also looks ahead to the Eastern Conference landscape, including how a potential move involving Giannis Antetokounmpo could impact the Knicks' chances of repeating as NBA champions. What Does Your Legacy Really Mean? When you hear the word legacy, what comes to mind? A name on a building? A foundation created after you're gone? Or something far simpler — the way you show up every day and the impact you quietly leave behind? I sat down with Kari Alterman, founder of Good Name Advisors, to explore how each of us can shape our legacy with intention — starting now, not someday. Kari helps individuals and families clarify their values, elevate their giving, and preserve their good name through thoughtful, lasting philanthropy. What struck me most in our conversation is that legacy isn't about wealth or waiting until the end of life. It's about how you treat people, where you choose to give, and how you align your actions with your values today. My Take Too many people wait to think about their legacy. They assume it starts with money or ends with a big gesture. Kari reframed this for us: legacy is built moment by moment — through kindness, intention, and generosity that matches who you are. Whether you give $5,000, $50, or just your time, what matters most is purpose and INTENT.

Muslim. Jewish. For many people, those words feel like lines that divide. But what happens when women refuse to let difference become distance? In this powerful conversation, Niki Roberts, who leads INSPIRE with Multi Faith Neighbors Network, a global movement helping women build authentic friendships across faith traditions without compromising their beliefs shares outcomes. This episode explores:• Why women often become bridge builders before institutions do • How language shapes trust across faith lines • What happens when dignity becomes the starting point instead of agreement • Why friendship might be one of the most courageous acts in our world right nowThis is a conversation about shared humanity, and the courage it takes to cross lines of difference. OneTable is a non-profit organization with two goals: make Shabbat a regular part of young people's Jewish lives, and combat the epidemic of loneliness among that same demographic. Hosts can receive a small stipend for every guest who attends their Friday night dinner, and the broader Jewish community benefits from higher levels of Shabbat engagement. But despite hundreds of thousands of young Jews being interested, OneTable laid off a quarter of its staff in December 2025, struggling to find financial support while realizing their repeat users were often accepting money for hosting dinners with friends that they would have hosted regardless. And on an even deeper level: is there even a viable business model for a one-note non-profit like this? Our rabbinic podcasters discuss. After that, they look at how the Art Gallery of Ontario came under fire when they decided not to acquire work by acclaimed photographer Nan Goldin because of alleged antisemitic comments, and finish off with some Textual Healing. Wil welcomes guest Ken Stemke, owner of Main Street Social in Libertyville, IL, an upscale Italian-American restaurant with its own wine label. Ken traces his hospitality spark to bussing tables in high school, then a 35-year career in banking that armed him with the financial discipline many restaurants lack. He shares how a seasoned team, empowerment, and a recent, internally driven menu refresh (60+ dishes tested) improved culture and guest experience. The convo dives into COVID cash-flow planning, POS frustrations, the importance of listening to staff and guests, policy headwinds like tip-credit changes, rising costs/tariffs, tech overreach, and why independent restaurants—and local coalitions—are essential to community life. Key Takeaways Banking → hospitality advantage: Ken's finance/accounting background gave him crucial cash-flow and planning skills most operators need but often lack. Seasoned staff pays off: With servers averaging ~40 in age and long tenures, May Street Social avoids much of the turnover drama. Empowerment drives innovation: Shifting decision-making to loyal team members led to a broad menu refresh without outside consultants. Manufacturing mindset: Treat each dish like a mini job—know costs, margins, and process control just as in production. Plan for storms: During COVID, Ken worked off daily cash-flows and prebuilt “Plan A/B/C” responses to policy changes. Policy ripple effects: Eliminating the tip credit (e.g., in Chicago) raises labor costs significantly and can hurt independents more than chains. Tariffs & uncertainty pinch demand: Cost shocks (produce, glass, wine) and scary headlines can temporarily depress traffic. Right-sized tech: Restaurants should resist feature bloat; deploy only tools that simplify ops (Ken is doubling down on using Schedulefly fully). POS matters: Weak reporting and lack of integrations create friction; handhelds and better data can smooth service pacing. Community is the moat: Independent restaurants anchor local identity; forming downtown/indie coalitions amplifies marketing and advocacy.

On this episode of Taste Buds with Deb, host Debra Eckerling speaks with Amy Bebchick, Chief Program Officer of OneTable aka the AirBNB of Shabbat. OneTable is an online platform that connects hosts with guests - and vice versa - and also offers Shabbat support and resources.    OneTable, aimed at adults 21 to 39, launched in 2014; two years ago, they expanded their offerings with OneTable Together, for people aged 50 and up. People in both demographics - and in all levels of faith - are interested in starting, rebooting or re-envisioning their Shabbat practices.    “One of our taglines at OneTable is Find Your Friday,” says Bebchick. “There's not [just] one way to bring Shabbat into your life.”   Shabbat, she explains, is all about marking the moment and making that moment sacred.    Some use this end-of-the-week gathering as an oasis with the people closest to them. Others invite their neighbors or open their home for an additional guest or two in order to build community connections. People Shabbat through OneTable in more than 700 communities all over the US and in Toronto.    “We're in the business of peer-to-peer Shabbat,” Bebchick explains. “Now more than ever, we are all really hungry for a way to escape from what is going on outside and to really find that place that feels like a warm blanket on a winter day.”   Bebchick, who has been practicing Shabbat her entire life, starts planning her Friday night menu as soon as she is done with Shabbat the Saturday before. Sometimes Shabbat is enjoyed around the dinner table, other times it's part of a picnic or a hike.    “I start thinking about what the weather is going to be, what do I want to be cooking, who else might be coming to the table,” she says. “[I like] the idea of really carving [out] that space every Friday.”   Amy Bebchick talks about the evolution of OneTable, the value of a Shabbat practice, and more. She also shares her recipe for gazpacho soup on-the-go, one of her favorite portable Shabbat dishes, which you can find at JewishJournal.com/podcasts.    Learn more at OneTable.org and follow @OneTableShabbat on Instagram. Today we're back in conversation with Dr. Adam Cohen, social psychologist and psychologist of religion at Arizona State University, who shares another research project that explores the way religious ritual connects participants more deeply not only with faith, but with community — this time, not through the practice of abstaining from food, but from breaking bread together.  Dr. Arielle Levites, Managing Director of the Collaborative for Applied Studies in Jewish Education and a Research Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at George Washington University had the same idea — that observing Shabbat wasn't just a nice idea, it was a practice with measurable impact. So the team designed a study, enlisting the participation of Aliza Kline, founding President and then-CEO of OneTable, an organization designed to help young Jews develop independence and confidence in observing the ritual of Shabbat dinner in their homes. The question they wanted to answer? Does Shabbat dinner as a spiritual practice increase social connectedness? Read the transcript of this episode
