This week, in Dallas, Oregon, a successful family gives up the grind of the city, and moves out to the country, so they can run a farm, and shelter their children from the dangers of the big city. This plan works beautifully for a while, until it's proven that you don't have to be in the city to have murder come knocking on your door. The events leading up to the tragedy are as crazy as they come, complete with murder instructions, whispered by forrest! Along the way, we find out that wine is better while it's raining, that wolves & trees might not give the best life advice, and that you should always bring a decent murder weapon with you, when planning to murder!! In book one of Psalms, the writers praise God for his justice, express confidence in God's compassion, recount the depravity of humanity, plead for vindication, ask God to deliver them from their enemies, speak of the blessedness of the forgiven sinner and portray God as a shepherd. We should worship God with the same sense of adoration found in these psalms. READ PSALM Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for this day. I thank you for our blessings. I pray you watch over us and place your hand over this community, our friends, and our neighbors. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Murder on the Orient Express is hitting theaters in November. And what an awesome cast it has: Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley. The movie is based on the book of the same name by Agatha Christie published in 1934. Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Holmes first appeared in 1887. He was described as a “consulting detective” which we would now call a private detective. The great detective has been in over fifty short stories!
“The Mountain Between Us” is due out in theaters this October. The film is based on the book of the same name by Charles Martin. Martin is known from books such as “Thunder and Rain” and When Crickets Cry.” On a bad wintery night at the Utah Airport, all flights have been canceled. Dr. Ben Payne is in a hurry to arrive at his destination to take care of a patient and hires a charter plane. Ashley Knox is on her way to home to get married tomorrow. Idris Elba has had a big couple of years. He was in “Zootopia,” “Finding Dory,” and “The Jungle Book” as Shere Khan. The 2016 film was a mix of live action and computer graphics and was direct by the same guy that did “Iron Man” and “Elf.” Both the original animation and remake were based on the collected work of Rudyard Kipling. The stories center around the man-cub Mowgli and the animals teach moral lessons to the young boy. The stories were first published in 1893! Kipling was english, however lived in India for several years as a child. Historians suggest that he began writing the stories for his young daughter who died at age six from illness. “The Jungle Book” has been adapted into film and TV many times over the years.
The movie adaptation of the Young Adult book “Wonder” is coming to theaters later this year. The book was published in 2012 and was largely inspired by a real life incident. The Hunger Games was first published in 2008. Since then, two other books have followed and each one has been made into a movie, smashing the box office. I don’t think I can imagine anyone portraying Katniss other than Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer Lawrence began her career at ge 14! “Red Sparrow” is written by first time author and former CIA agent Jason Matthews… if that’s his real name. Another big author in the spy fiction genre is Brad Thor.

“Where the Wild Things Are” was published in 1963 and has become a staple in American culture. Selling over 10 million copies and winning multiple awards. Jonze began his career directing commercials and music videos. He has worked with great musical talent such as Daft Punk, Weezer, and the Beastie Boys. Adaptation is loosely based on the book “The Orchid Thief.” Kaufman was hired to adapt the book for film in 1994. However he suffered from horrible writer’s block and wasn’t sure of what to think of the book.
Are ghosts real? I don't know, maybe, maybe not, bu they can certainly be fun to watch in the movies. And one of the most fun horror movies I have seen is “1408” starring John Cusack. and Samuel L. Jackson. Cusack plays a travel writer who researches hotels and haunted houses. Of course he has yet to find any so called ghost. That is until he comes across the 1408 in The Dolphin, a upscale hotel in New York City.
