This is actually a good game, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to talk about Forbidden Cubes. If you're familiar with this, it's probably because of a demo disk that came with your PlayStation, or from buying the PlayStation Classic mini-console. Its austere, frankly creepy presentation wraps up a satisfying puzzle game that gives us plenty of geometry-based digression material.
In this weeks interstitial episode, Jared, Ky, and Ben play the exciting puzzle game for the PS1, Intelligent Qube. We discuss our overall thoughts on the game, as well as try and figure out why this man is stuck in a never ending cube hell. Find us on Twitter and Instagram @PlayAlongPod. This week , we discuss: - Passing up big AAA games for less known and Obscure Games - Freedom Fighters, Intelligent Qube, Spindizzy Worlds, Thief Simulator just to name some - Why some people might forgo big games for less known titles - Why AAA studios won't incorporate some of these elements in their games
Dave calls Jay to marvel at a soundtrack that was groundbreaking at it's debut, Intelligent Qube. For this PlayStation puzzle classic, film and television composer Takayuki Hattori was tapped to produce a score that features a full live orchestra, as well as mind-bending music theory elements such as the whole tone scale and augmented triads, resulting in a truly mesmerizing sound that appropriately conjures up feelings of mystery, playfulness, defeat, and hope.
Mike and Derrick wishes everyone a Happy Halloween! This week we discuss some game delays, some updates on Spider-man Miles Morales, the last Nintendo Partner Showcase of the year, the newest Final Fantasy XVI trailer, yet another videogame show coming to Netflix, and much more! Games discussed: Hyrule Warriors 2, Hades, Mother Russia Bleeds, Tokyo Xanadu Ex+, Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom Re-hydrated, Destroy All Humans!, Intelligent Qube, Brigandine - The Legend of Forsena, Hellnight, The Legend of Dragoon, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV Derrick X Mike Anime Challenge: Berserk Episode 6 / Full Metal Alchemist Episodes 16-18 For questions, comments, suggestions, etc. please email us at mcpaperstacks@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/player2hasenteredthepod/support

Happy August 15th, 2008! Settle around the camp fire children, because have you a story for you! The Legend of Stevé! With this story you'll learn the importance of playing it your way, how to become a grill master, the power of escalation, and much, much more! Also we countdown to 2019... or 2020 if you want to be correct about it. We attempt another top 7 list with much better results. Also we are pretty sure James says "like" way too much when telling any story.
Greg, Brian, and Colin regretfully pass on publishing a recent "piece" by Ari Hoffman in the city's elite subterranean paper, Mechanical Freak, and an extremely reasonable member of WE Demand SAFE Shopping (this is not a joke) tells Safe Seattle harrowing tales of rampant "robbery" (shoplifting) at their local Safeway, where we learn no cut of meat is safe from pillage and no employee willing to die for the cause of loss prevention.
