Then in The Storm [01:08:08], they break down the teaser for the season finale, "The Real Monsters," and piece together what little is known about how the season will end. In The Calm [04:58], they consider which human characters they are still rooting for, question whether Wendy can actually communicate with the Xenomorph, and begin to wonder what kinds of safeguards are built into Kirsh's programming. Then in The Storm [01:13:14], your faithful hosts make their predictions for what will be the big showdowns of the final two episodes and check-in with their ongoing theories about where and when a Predator easter egg might appear. In The Calm [06:16], they dig into Alien: Earth's big flashback episode as director Noah Hawley delivers his own Alien mini-movie about the plight of the USCSS Maginot. They question whether 65 years of one's life is worth a quarter share, worry about the workplace safety practices of Weyland-Yutani scientists, and present several wild theories about Morrow's motivations. Then in The Storm [01:17:50], your faithful hosts break down the trailer for episode 6, "The Wasp," before considering the possible endgame for Wendy's character and the Alien comic that could serve as inspiration for a wild twist. In The Calm [07:50], they consider which characters might be primed to join Team Xenomorph as the Prodigy corporation abuses its power, revisit the early 2000s sensation that was The Snuggie, and attempt to get inside the mind of Timothy Olyphant's Kirsh. This week, Da7e and Neil are trapped in a shipping container with a Xenomorph as Alien: Earth continues its barrage of world-building. In The Calm [07:38], they attempt to draw more parallels to J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, discuss the lore surrounding the Prodigy corporation, and advocate for workers' rights like... [checks notes] not giving a corporation the power to remove your body parts without your consent. Then, in The Storm [01:23:16], they dig into the teaser for episode 4 and become immediately concerned for the safety of at least one Lost Boy. And they revisit the question of whether there's going to be any Predator stuff in this show. Okay, lets you and him fight! In shameless pursuit of ‘brand synergy,' this episode of Casual Trek celebrates the return of Strange New Worlds to our streaming services by doing an episode about those lizardy bastards Kirk fought once at those rocks from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, the Gorn! In ‘Arena,' Kirk fights a string vest wearing space lizard while Spock watches and provides inane commentary (hey Spock-o, that's OUR job) and then in the Strange New Worlds Season 2 finale and Season 3 opener ‘Hegemony Parts 1 and 2' Pike spends more time hiding and less time building rudimentary cannons, Spock and Chapel play a little Alien Isolation and Ortegas loses herself in the job… Bogus. Episodes discussed: Arena (07:20) and Hegemony Parts 1 and 2 (38:27)Talking Points include: American Family Reunions, Donkey Kong Bananza, young Tom Jones is weird looking and The Monkees are great, Oh no not another Godlike being, Vasquez Rocks, everyone got tinnitus making this episode, Charlie's time as a scout, Miles has a legitimate reason to bring up ‘Blake's 7,' they tried to build the cannon on Mythbusters… it did not go well, we're not Trying That in a Small Town but we finally listen to The Mountain Goats for the show! Pike's brief moment of religious crisis is weird, Strange New Worlds' making the Gorn so monstrous clashes with how it went down in ‘Arena', Alien Isolation, the nature of ‘Good' and ‘Evil' members of various Star Trek races and how the idea the Gorn might be biologically evil might not be a great look for Trek.
The full crew has returned! Restoring TSG to it's former glory, Taylor rejoins the crew to chat about the pains of moving, strategies on clearing the ole' backlog, and when to know it's time to quit a game that you just aren't vibing with. Other topics include Alien: Isolation, Battlefield 6 Beta, Mafia: The Old Country, and the disappointment of DOOM: The Dark Ages. Enjoy!
This week, Da7e and Neil investigate the crash site left by the two-episode premiere of Noah Hawley's FX series, Alien: Earth. In The Calm [05:34], they break down the show's closing music choices, deploy a polygon probe to assess the VFX, learn about animal hearing frequency ranges, and much more. Then, in The Storm [01:23:44], they unpack the "Coming Up This Season" trailer to get a sense of how the season will be paced and predict whether or not we'll meet a Yautja along the way. With their coverage of Andor complete, Da7e and Neil turn their attention to another iconic sci-fi franchise as they await the arrival of Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth. They then consider some of the big questions they'd like to see answered about Xenomorphs, synthetic humanoids, space-faring cats, and much more in The Calm [04:58] before diving into some light spoiler territory in The Storm [42:12]. This week on Offstage Acting, Todd Kramer welcomes the brilliant Kezia Burrows — a Welsh actor whose career spans classical theatre, television drama, and the high-stakes world of motion capture and video game performance. Born in Neath and raised in the seaside village of New Quay, Kezia trained at RADA and now voices and embodies characters in some of the most acclaimed games out there. You might know her as Amanda Ripley in Alien: Isolation, Dr. Emma Fisher in Observation, or from Cyberpunk 2077, CrossfireX, Hellblade, and more. We dive into:
Imagine a game so successful that during the making of it, you actually end up coming up with three games. That's what Capcom did when they were prototyping Resident Evil 4. They got that, they got Devil May Cry and they also got the game we're talking about on this podcast. We're going back to 2005 to take a look at a survival horror that didn't get quite as many sequels as those other series just mentioned. We're talking Haunting Ground. On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we chat a little bit about the much better Japanese name of DEMENTO, as well as a tagline that Josh likes and doesn't like at all. We also look at a trailer with a lot of slobbering and panting, their reasons for including a dog, and mo-capping said dog. Here are some of the things you're gonna hear us chat about in our review: being reactive after you are definitely spotted by one of your pursuers; hiding under beds, inside wardrobes, and behind doors; Alien: Isolation; a distinct lack of fear; special hiding spots; Hewie the attack dog; fairy earrings; the sound of vase-breaking vs dog-barking; how much your bond with your pooch; German Shepherd-sized holes; some real headscratchers of puzzles; some of the flattest boss fights; shoddy glowing fireflies; Resi 4 comparisons; nice-looking maps that are a bit hard to read; a story with some heavy sexual themes, delivered through some ludicrous characters and dialogue; Manhunt; the strangely calm Fiona Belli; setting the scene via static camera angles; the looks of a late PS2 game; and a wonderful lack of loading screens. After all that, we take you through what some of the critics were saying about the game around the time it came out, and then we give you our final verdicts on whether Haunting Ground is a Pass, a Play, or an Espionage Explosion. For those who would like to play along at home, we'll be discussing, reviewing and dissecting Batman Begins on the next episode of Stealth Boom Boom.IMPORTANT LINKS TO THINGS
While on Fiorina 161 serving prison time for some Arcturian shenanigans that went horribly wrong, Dave, Devan, Michael, Bradley and Ryan get some free time in the Fury Arcade, where they play and talk about the 1992 multi-platform video game, "Alien 3." The crew discuss what they enjoyed about the game, including the atmosphere and music, where they feel it fell short, and how it deviated from the film in its storyline and focus on action. They also take some time to chat about other video games in the Alien franchise, including Alien Trilogy, Aliens: Infestation, and Alien: Isolation. We hope you enjoy this fun, video game-focused episode! Thanks as always for listening and for your support! Stay frosty!

Alien Romulus is proof that anything with a Xenomorph in it should only allow Ridley Scott on set as a Producer. It's a much needed return to the Xenomorph-verse that gives the audience nonstop nerve-wrecking action, just enough sci to fi, nostalgic easter eggs, and fun elements adapted directly from the more recent Aliens videos game like Alien: Isolation. This film does an amazing job if amping up the anticipation for the upcoming FX TV Series, Alien: Earth. Cailee Spaeny fills the shoes of Ripley very well and David Jonsson deserves all the praise for his performance as Andy, an android who gets an upgrade in autonomy. The long-awaited remake of Silent Hill 2 has finally arrived on PlayStation 5, and it's a hit. Players around the world are loving it, providing audiences with the very first acclaimed title from Polish studio Bloober Team. Indeed, many (including some on this show) questioned whether these guys were even up to the task, and reasonably so: Bloober's average Metacritic score across 11 previous PlayStation releases is a 65. But it's here, it's great, and we're excited to talk about it, along with other horror-themed fare in the form of Until Dawn Remake, too. Other news this week includes rumblings of a potential Concord F2P comeback, Ubisoft possibly being taken private, SEGA's surprise announcement of Alien: Isolation 2, the delisting of LittleBigPlanet 3 from the PSN, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Are scalpers merely serving a necessary purpose on the free market? Should everyone cut Assassin's Creed: Shadows a little bit of slack?
