This week, Coach Blu Robinson sits down with Jim Logan for a powerful Attitude Athlete conversation about transformation through adversity. Jim's journey, from hearing the words "you have cancer" to crossing the finish line as an Ironman, is a testament to what can happen when faith, perseverance, and purpose become stronger than fear. Listen as Jim shares the physical, emotional, and spiritual reality of confronting a cancer diagnosis. Rather than allowing that moment to define the limits of his life, he began rebuilding it, one decision, one workout, one act of faith, and one day at a time. His path to becoming an Ironman was never simply about endurance sports. Training became a vehicle for healing, discipline, gratitude, and rediscovering what his life could mean after survival. The miles represented more than fitness; they reflected a commitment to keep showing up, even when the road was difficult. Jim Logan was 59 years old, extremely fit, and had no symptoms when he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer. The doctors gave him six months to two years. He spent the first six months preparing to die.Closed his bank accounts.Shut down his home inspection business of 30 years.Got his family ready. Then treatment started shrinking his tumors. Surgery became possible. And Jim made a different decision. He started preparing to live.Since then he's been through 24 rounds of chemo, radiation, and multiple major surgeries — including removal of most of his liver, his colon, his rectum, and his gallbladder. He now trains and competes while living with an ostomy. He's been declared cancer-free twice. And he's still on chemo. He's also training for the Ironman World Championship in Kona!I've talked to a lot of people about resilience on this podcast. Most of the conversations end up in the same place — some version of "mindset matters" or "just keep going." Jim doesn't talk like that. He's specific. He has a framework he actually uses: Discipline, Sacrifice, Suffering, Pain. He talks about the pain you choose preparing you for the pain you don't.And he said something in this conversation that I keep thinking about — "everyone is terminal. I just found out sooner."The other thing that stuck with me is how much he talks about training as identity, not motivation. He didn't keep swimming, biking, and running through chemo because he was motivated to. He kept doing it because that's who he is.The diagnosis didn't change that. If anything, it made him lean into it harder. We got into:Why Jim kept training through chemo ("cancer may kill me, but swimming won't")The six months he spent planning to die, and what changedWhy he calls cancer both the worst and the best thing that's ever happened to himHis D.S.S.P. philosophy — Discipline, Sacrifice, Suffering, PainWhy the pain you choose prepares you for the pain you don'tWhy "everyone is terminal" isn't dark, it's clarifyingWhat good coaches actually do (it's not "push harder")Zone 2 cardio, why beginners train too hard, and what actually builds enduranceWhy happiness lives inside pursuit, not at the end of itJim wrote a book called Just Keep Tri-ing. He's also raising money for cancer charities through his Ironman training.Links to both are below.Find Jim on Instagram: @stage42025His book on Amazon: Just Keep Tri-ingIronman fundraising page: Donate hereFacebook fundraising page: Donate here
As Christians we are told in scripture to "fight the good fight," but how can we fight unless we understand how the enemy works in our lives. He is cleaver and knows just where and how to attack us, while most of the time instead of resisting him we are resisting ourselves. The first video in this series in based on understanding the enemy and spiritual warfare that we face daily.

This message explores the profound significance of parental blessings and curses, drawing heavily from Old Testament narratives like Samuel 31 and Genesis 24 to illustrate their lasting impact. It contends that parental pronouncements, whether positive or negative, carry immense spiritual weight, shaping destinies and influencing generations. Examining the stories of Saul, Jonathan, and Rebecca, the message emphasizes the importance of intentional blessing, highlighting how neglecting this vital ministry can have far-reaching consequences, while also cautioning against the destructive power of curses, ultimately encouraging fathers and grandfathers to actively impart God's blessing upon their children as a tangible expression of faith and a source of enduring spiritual strength.

Dr. Jim Logan shares about how a family was struggling with having demonic occurrences in their home. After the elders of the church prayed through the house, they felt them leave out the front door. Stand in your victory over the enemy in Christ.
We are engaged in a Spiritual Battle going on all the time, but most Christians are loosing the battle on a daily basis. People may not always live what they process, but they will always live what they believe. Our faith comes out when we are in stressful situations.

A look into the heart of teenager from Jim Logan's 40+ years of Biblical Counseling. Teens today desire one-on-one relationships more than ever in the past. One of the most destructive decisions a teen can make is to be rebellious against their God-given authorities. If they step over that line, then according to Samuel they have started doing witchcraft, and destruction will follow.

Our culture today is comfortable with A secondhand encounter with God. When Moses was at the mountain and God invited the Israelites to go to the mountain, they wanted Moses to meet with God and tell them what He said. We can do that as well through our Pastors and other Christians. God wants to have a personal relationship with you directly.

Dad's, are you giving your family a spiritual blessing that they will remember? Many children live for themselves, but we can raise our children to honoring their parents and God. Blessings are very important and needed in the family today.
