Pete also chats about an unexpected senior debut in the green forests of Estonia for the European Orienteering Championships, and his incedible year of orienteering all around Europe, more than making up for two seasons without travel. POD #135 - for the first time we have a guest from Russia in our podcast. Veronika Kalinina from Moscow, today a member of IFK Lidingö. For Veronika, it was quite given that she would do sports, both parents leading her on this track. The orienteering sport was also quite close to the family. - My dad is and has been very good at rogaining, says Veronika Kalinina. She has a year left as a junior and has set her sights on defending her JVM gold this summer when she goes to Turkey where JWOC is held. She won the gold in the long distance last summer in Denmark, but she was not entirely surprised by the success. - The goal was definitely to win that gold and I had a good feeling that day, says Veronika Kalinina. Per Forsberg went to Gothenburg to meet Veronika Kalinina where she studied at the University of Gothenburg during the fall and winter. She has been running for a Swedish club for many years, has been in both Hellas and OK Södertörn before switching to IFK Lidingö where she is thrilled. - It's a fantastic club with wonderful runners and leaders. Besides, I also have Johan Rundesson as my personal trainer, says Veronika Kalinina. Listen to Veronika Kalinina in Radio O-Ringen podcast # 135. This podcast is in English.

I first met Ralph at JWOC in Denmark in 2010 thanks to close relationships between the New Zealand and Great Britain orienteering teams. I've had the pleasure of seeing him progress, along with the wider Great British squad, to challenge the top nations at WOC and run for top clubs at races like Jukola and 10Mila (Tiomila). Ralph has spent much of his elite career living in Sweden and Norway and loves getting into the technical side of this complex sport.

In Radio O-Ringen podcast #66 you meet one of the best orienteers in the whole world. Mattias Kyburz, 26, from Möhlin in Switzerland. Per Forsberg met him in Scuol in Switzerland where JWOC 2016 is taken place. Mattias Kyburz has some great memories from JWOC, a kind of a beginning for his career. His nickname is Chlai, the small one, but he's nothing but small. His skills in sprint orienteering are incredible but he also want to be successful in the forest. It was a relief with the gold in EOC and the middle distance. And there is more to come if you listen to Mattias Kyburz in Radio O-Ringen podcast #66. Any comments or ideas. Please mail to radio@oringen.se.
