Hungary is undergoing a major transformation with the election of a new prime minister. After 16 years in power, Viktor Orban's Fidesz party was swept from office in a historic landslide election in April and with an equally historic turnout of almost 80 percent. The new Tisza party, led by Peter Magyar, won the largest super-majority in Hungary's post-communist history with a platform focused on anti-corruption and national renewal. They've promised major changes to Hungary's constitution, known as the Fundamental Law.So what does this election mean for Hungary and how might the new leadership reorient its relationship with America, the European Union, Russia, and China?Orban was known for his pro-family and pro-tradition domestic policies, while at the same time cultivating close ties with Russia and communist China and distancing himself from the EU.Joining us today to break all this down is Hungarian constitutional law scholar Marton Sulyok, a visiting researcher at the Georgetown Center for the Constitution.Sulyok is, notably, also the son of Hungary's current President, Tamas Sulyok.Magyar has demanded the resignation of Sulyok and other Orban allies. It remains to be seen whether they will be forced out by constitutional amendment or other means.Despite his family ties, the younger Sulyok has remained strikingly detached.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

In today's episode, Anne Marton joins us for an honest conversation about the mental side of fitness, fat loss, and aging as women. We talk about the toxic messaging so many women grew up with around body image, dieting, and shrinking themselves, and how those beliefs often follow us into motherhood, perimenopause, and midlife. Anne shares how her background in psychology shaped her coaching approach, why mindset work matters just as much as macros, and why so many women struggle to trust themselves around food and the scale. We also get into metabolic adaptation, chronic under-eating, body composition vs. scale weight, people-pleasing, boundaries, and the importance of building habits that support you through hard seasons of life instead of abandoning yourself the second life gets messy.“The number one trait of successful people is the ability to move forward fast.”- Anne Marton“You cannot expect to feel optimal if you're always under eating and struggling in terms of your nutrition.”- Anne MartonThis week on Capable & Worthy: Fitness, Nutrition and Mindset for People Who Don't Want Life to Suck:Why body image struggles are often generational and deeply ingrainedThe difference between fat loss, maintenance, and chronic dietingHow under-eating impacts hormones, mood, energy, and metabolismWhy scale weight is a poor indicator of progress and healthThe psychology behind “all-or-nothing” thinking in fitnessHow to model healthy behaviors around food and exercise for your kidsBuilding habits that act as anchors during stressful seasons of lifeLearning to “fail fast” and move forward instead of spiraling after setbacks Connect with Anne: Anne Fitlab on InstagramThanks for tuning in to this week's episode of Capable & Worthy: Fitness, Nutrition, and Mindset for People Who Don't Want Life to Suck, where we challenge the common understanding of what it means and what it takes to be fit and healthy! It has been 16 years since Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party assumed power in Hungary – and it might have begun to feel like things could never change. But with a parliamentary election just around the corner, there's now a glimmer – a hint! a twinkle! – of hope that Europe's most illiberal government could finally be on its way out. This week, we're devoting the entire episode to the April 12 elections: what's certain, what remains to be seen, and most importantly, what's at stake. And to make sense of it all, we're joined by two Budapest-based friends of the podcast: the novelist Krisztián Marton, and Viktória Serdült, reporter at HVG, one of the last surviving bastions of independent journalism in Hungary. “At last, a figure has emerged who could wrench power from Viktor Orbán in Hungary” – Viktória Serdült for The Guardian, 18 December 2024 Paul the Octopus on Wikipedia Krisztián Marton on Instagram Viktória Serdült on X This week's Hungary-themed Inspiration Station recommendations are the song “Tizenhat” by Elefánt, the documentary The Trap, and the FT series The Orbán System. BB is an incredible banjo player who has played with some incredible mandolin players and has also just released her first solo album called “Goodtime Revival available here! Born in the small town of Marton, New Zealand, Catherine "BB" Bowness spent her early years working and living in her family's Fish-and-Chip shop. Although an unlikely origin for a bluegrass banjo player, New Zealand would offer BB her first introduction to the instrument, sparking a lifelong love and fascination. A world away from the heart of bluegrass, BB spent much of her childhood teaching herself the instrument, and through dedication and tenacity became New Zealand School of Music's first banjo student. Inspired by her New Zealand predecessors, The Hamilton County Bluegrass Band, BB was always drawn to the five-piece full band, and after heading to America in 2012 she co-founded her current group, Mile Twelve. Currently, BB lives in Cambridge, MA. Mile Twelve has won numerous IBMA awards, including 2020 New Artists of the Year and 2017 Momentum Band of the Year. A shorter episode this week — just the Arsenal boys, Arman and Marton, taking the mic to break down the biggest coaching and form stories in the league. We start with Arsenal, who continue to look sharp, cohesive, and confident as they push through the winter fixtures. Tactical clarity, defensive stability, and attacking variety — we discuss why the good times keep rolling. Then we pivot to Manchester United, where the situation is… messy. After letting Rúben Amorim go, United are now actively searching for an interim coach until the summer, when the real long-term appointment will be made. We analyse what led to this point, who could realistically come in, and what this means for the rest of United's season. Two Arsenal fans, one big coaching saga, and plenty of football talk. Show Notes: Sandor Marton, a McKinsey alum and co-founder of Chronos Insights introduces the AI research companion tool and explains its features. Sandor shares his background in growth strategy, commercial strategy, and due diligence work. He identifies the problems faced by small firms and independent practitioners who don't have large teams in place to assign people to do the massive amount of necessary foundational research, which limits the size of projects they can take on. An Overview of Chronos Insights Sandor discusses partnering with Matt Jones and Dustin Chrysler to develop an AI-powered solution for market and competitive landscape research. He talks about the background of the team and the issues they initially tackled. The team aimed to create a specialized prompt leveraging ChatGPT's large language model while moving away from ChatGPT's programming “to make people happy” and to deliver more accurate results. They developed their tool, Chronos, with a different approach. The tool uses neural search and keyword search to provide more accurate and sourced research solutions. Sandor talks about how they tested the agents. He found it saved 75% of research time using the platform and emphasizes the need for review and revision of AI-generated outputs. Chronos Research Capabilities The conversation turns to access to proprietary databases, and Sandor explains the current use of the alpha version sources publicly available information. He also talks about their engineering resources and can build a version that taps into proprietary, private, or licensed resources, and that the user can direct the agent to source from specific sources. Sandor refers to a large Fortune 100 company that has hired them to build an agent to work with their internal research team. Sandor discusses potential future features like an interview finder tool and a composite self-referencing insights feature. The discussion touches on the flexibility of the tool in handling different types of research problems. User Interface Explained Sandor explains the simple UI of the tool, which includes five landing pages: Project Overview, Research Statement of Work, Research Plan, Research Tab, and Research Summary. The tool creates a research plan based on the user's research statement of work, breaking it down into discrete task prompts. Sandor demonstrates how to use the tool by copying and pasting a Word document into the Research Statement of Work tab. The tool generates a detailed research plan, including market landscape, competitor landscape, and key trends and developments. Project Overview Research Plan Generation Sandor explains the process of generating a research plan, including organizing research tasks by major research categories and subsections. He shares an example of the various categories to be researched within the statement of work. The tool creates task prompts for each topic within the research statement of work. Users can edit tasks and change the language model used for research. Sandor highlights the efficiency of running multiple tasks concurrently using the platform and demonstrates how it works and the various categories of research that can be explored, analyzed, and summarized. How Chronos Summarizes Prompts Sections Identified and Tasks to Complete Subsections Explained Reviewing and Exporting Sandor demonstrates how to review and export the research outputs generated by the tool. The tool provides citations for each task, allowing users to verify the sources. Users can rerun tasks and edit them as needed. The tool offers a research summary feature, which condenses the research outputs into a concise format. Research Task Overview Market Landscape Research Use Cases and Future Developments Sandor talks about use cases and future developments. He explains that it can handle various research topics and how they have programmed the agent to eliminate errors. Sandor mentions a project which included researching sales cycles and client selection criteria. The tool has potential for developing primary research, valuation and diligence work, and incorporating proprietary or licensed material. This year's Budapest Pride was banned in March under the Orbán government's contentious “child protection” law. Demonstrators were threatened with hefty fines for participating, and the government said it would employ facial-recognition technology to identify and potentially prosecute those who turned out to take part at the march on 28 June. Did the ban work? Not in the slightest. In fact, more people than ever in the 30-year history of Budapest Pride showed up to celebrate their rights as LGBTQ+ human beings. The massive Pride march brought a glimmer of hope to some Hungarian citizens, including this week's guest, writer Krisztián Marton. We spoke with Krisztián about the lead-up to the event, the thrill of being on the ground last Saturday, and what might be next for Hungary, now that Viktor Orbán finally has a formidable challenger in Péter Magyar. We also chatted with Dominic's husband, Thomas Lamers, a philosopher and dramaturg who hit the streets for us, mic in hand. (Thanks, Thomas, we owe you!) Krisztián Marton is a screenwriter and novelist. You can follow him on Instagram here and read an excerpt in English of his Margó Prize-nominated novel Crybaby here. You can donate to Thomas's fundraiser to pay some of the fines that may be incurred by Pride attendees here. This podcast was brought to you in cooperation with Euranet Plus, the leading radio network for EU news. In this episode of the SaaS Revolution Show our host Alex Theuma is joined by Marton Medveczky, Associate Partner at Flashpoint Venture Capital, who shares what exactly makes a founder investable in 2025. "There is always a huge difference between talking to the founder and then doing your own desktop research versus talking to a customer. So if you can do that, that's basically the best way to understand what people value about the product. And it also will help you to draw further conclusions about where to look or, like, what is actually the real paper that it solves. And oftentimes it's actually not what the founders think it is, right? Which is very funny, I think. And that's why customer calls are sort of like a super vital component for us to invest." Marton shares: • The key characteristics he looks for in a founder before investing • Nailing value propositions and pain points: the one thing founders *need* to be doing • What the next 12 months look like and if fewer companies are moving into venture • How his initial VC journey started versus what it looks like now • Winning the market and becoming a category leader: what can SaaS companies do to succeed? • Why net revenue retention is the most important metric and more!
