Weakness within and trials without. A constant battle against the World, the Flesh, and the Devil. This is the common lot of Christian believers in this life. This is the sober reality which ought to push us, each day, to apply for new supplies of the Holy Spirit's power for perseverance. The life of the gospel minister fits this pattern, too, and if anything, the intensity of the battle is greater. Satan has a particular loathing for all members of Christ's body, but especially for its leaders. This week we read two articles on different aspects of perseverance in ministry. They call us all—especially those of us in church office—to fresh vigilance and new earnestness, confident of the Lord's power and willingness to sustain us. Featured Resources: – Andrew Swanson, 'Causes and Cure of Spiritual Decline in the Minister's Life', Banner of Truth Magazine, Issue 391 (April 1996). – David N. Jones, 'Maintaining the Earnestness of our Ministry', Banner of Truth Magazine, Issues 239–240 (August–September 1983). – Interview snippets with Gerard Hemmings and Keith Berry recorded at the UK Ministers' Conference 2025 ('A Lifetime in the Ministry') Note: the dates for this year's US West Coast Ministers' Conference are October 21–23, 2025, and those for next year's UK Ministers' Conference are April 20–23, 2026. Riding Shotgun With Charlie #215 Keith Barry (KB) 51Fifty Rifles/Optimum At the NRA Annual Meeting, I got a message from Frank Johnson to meet him at the 51Fifty/Optimum booth. I was asked to be on Frank's show Range Report earlier in the year, so I wanted to meet him in person. At the 51Fifty booth was Keith Berry (KB). I was very impressed at how fast Frank was able to take down their AR style rifle. Legit, I looked away to see if my bag was still on the ground and the rifle was apart. They have a Rapid Access Cam that connects the upper and lower receivers. With the flip of a lever, similar to a safety switch, you can do the lock and take the rifle apart. Recently, I got the time to go out and meet with KB. He's only in western Mass so it wasn't far of a drive to get together. He gave me a tour of the building and how they build their rifles. They've got a room in the back where they do all their videos with a number of “wall decorations” as their backdrop. KB grew up shooting since he was young, like for years old! His father ingrained the safety rules at a young age, which gave him a strong basis on safe gun handling. He progressed from BB guns, to pellet guns, to .22 rifles. His father served in Viet Nam and was much of the inspiration and motivation for the beginning of 51Fifty. Their first rifle was a tribute to KB's dad. Once he started making rifles, he would ask his dad what he would want for this part and for that part. That's what KB was putting together just for his dad. One of his dad's life long goals was to become a certified gunsmith, which he achieved before passing away. Many of the rifles made by 51Fifty have been made to commemorate things like the slaying of the five Dallas police officers a few years ago. They remade the rifle for his father and added some coating to make it look distressed and used. The company that worked with them asked them to join them at SHOT Show, which they were happy to go along with. Before getting into the firearm business, KB spent 20 years doing printing. Due to health issues from printing, he needed a new career. He got into working in the auto industry and financing. Within a year, he got into helping non-compliant companies and did that in five states for the next 20 years. When KB was based in Texas, there was a lot of back and forth between the Lone State and the Bay State, where the parts were being built. Building parts were in Mass while painting and assembly was in Texas. So KB and his wife moved to New England to help run the business and the shop from here. One of the things 51Fifty prides themselves on is listening to what their customers want. Their rifles are in several countries with their troops. When they give feedback to 51Fifty, they listen, take notes, and make changes. They're addressing issues that have been around with the AR platform since the beginning and they're working to make superior rifles for everyone, whether in the military, law enforcement, or civilians. At their first SHOT Show, a veteran was going by their booth in a wheelchair. He couldn't believe how fast the disassembly of the AR was done. There are several big name folks that have the 51Fifty rifles. They make a lot of specialty rifles and they donate several of them to charities. One of their rifles is a .308 and is worth about $50,000. It only gets brought out for big charity events. The engraving on it is just incredible. They are doing a big event for SHOT Show 2025, so if you're in the media, make sure you stop by and try out their rifles. If you can't make it, please visit their website and check out all the cool and wild designs they've got. Favorite quotes: “You take the curiosity away. You don't make it taboo.” “We need to do something to help these families.” “Right now we're not Goliath we're David, but we want to slay Goliath.” “If I had had this system, I'd still have my legs.” 51Fifty Rifles https://51fiftyrifles.com/ 51Fifty Rifles Facebook https://www.facebook.com/51FiftyRifles 51Fifty Rifles Instagram https://www.instagram.com/51fifty/ 51Fifty Rifles X https://x.com/OP51_usa 51Fifty Rifles YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@OP51USA 51Fifty Rifles LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/51fifty/posts/?feedView=all 51Fifty Rifles Truth Social https://truthsocial.com/@51Fifty Second Amendment Foundation https://secure.anedot.com/saf/donate?sc=RidingShotgun Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms https://www.ccrkba.org/ Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters. Consumer Reports is known for doing consumer related research that is non-biased. What allows them to actual buy products for testing and evaluation is a subscription model. So the vehicles that we talk to them about are often owned by Consumer Reports, with buyers making the purchase without the selling knowing who is buying...whenever is possible. They have their own test track! So we like to talk to the automotive team as they really don't have preconceived idea about a vehicle, particularly the EV segment.Joining us on this episode of In Wheel Time Car Talk, it is Keith Berry, and we are talking about an extensive report on the actual cost(s) associated with owning an EV - the cost of ownership. The purchase price varies, and there are regional differences in electric rates. The 'free' report can be found at ConsumerReports.org, and there is a really cool EV Incentive Finder that will help find final costs...in some cases. If you are shopping EVs, you should take a few minutes and listen to this episode of In Wheel Time Car Talk. Then, in our New Car Showroom, Don Armstrong is taking a look at the new Ford Maverick Tremor, a small pick-up directed to the off-road enthusiasts. All this and more on this episode of In Wheel Time Car Talk, and you can keep up with all the new episodes by subscribing to our podcast.www.InWheelTimeCarTalk.com---- ----- Want more In Wheel Time Car Talk any time? Today's guest is one NFT/crypto bull you don't want to mess with in real life. Nicknamed "The KO Kid", today's guest has been a professional MMA fighter since 2005. He is a former King of the Cage Middleweight champion and currently competes in Bellator's Middleweight Division. Lately on Twitter, however, many have noticed his recent admiration for all things Crypto and NFTs. He is an outspoken advocate about his love for DOGE coin, and has been on an NFT collecting spree that is inspiring to watch from the sidelines. It is my honor to share the stage with Keith Berry!
Keith “KO Kid” Berry is a former MMA fighter and current Cannabis and Cryptocurrency Entrepreneur.Grow Packer-----Intro - 00:15Ads - 05:02 - Please visit our sponsors Awakened Vapes, Genesis Pharms, and the Caramel Corn Company and help support this podcast!Interview - 8:15-----Welcome back to Awakened Exchanges! I'm your host Jay Rich and we've got a great interview for you here this week. Keith “KO Kid” Berry joins us for a talk about his MMA Career as well as his current Cannabis and Cryptocurrency adventures. I think you'll really enjoy it, but I also want to remind you that if you have any suggestions for topics or guests though, I do listen to the listeners, so please email me from our website or contact me on twitter @AwakenExchanges. I hope to have a full, diverse, and interesting schedule this year, so keep joining us here for the exchange.I've noticed that I have less and less random political crap playing over and over, taking up space in my head each week since Big Orange has been out of office, but that doesn't mean it has stopped by any means. This week I did want to mention something that we've been talking about on the podcast since the very beginning basically, and that's Covid. I can't remember which episode intro we mentioned it on, but I've been a proponent of Bret Weinstein and his assertion that we need to at least look into the Lab Leak Hypothesis since at least the middle of last year. It's been a very interesting couple of weeks as the media has started to actually take notice and look into this subject. I've never said that it was an intentional leak, and that's not the point. We just need to accurately know how and why this started so that we can put processes in place to prevent or at least identify potential disasters like this faster in the future. We've had over 590,000 deaths so far in the U.S. alone, and over 3.5 million total worldwide. That's a lot of people to lose no matter what, despite whatever comorbidity factors may have existed, all because of an accident within a lab. I'm not saying that that's for sure what happened, but there is definitely a preponderance of evidence stacking up in that direction and if we'd been actually been looking into it seriously for the last year instead of dismissing it as “conspiracy theory,” then maybe we'd be a lot closer to an answer. Now we just sit back and wait, hoping that it doesn't mutate into a more virulent or deadly strain.Enough on that rant for today though, I'm sure you're only vaguely interested in my opinion, if that. I do want to give this week's guest, Keith Berry, a bit more of an introduction though. Keith got his nickname, the “KO Kid,” very early in his career, scoring three knockouts in under a minute in just his first 6 fights. He continued his bruiser ways throughout his King of the Cage and Bellator career, scoring 17 wins, 12 by way of knockout and 3 more by submission. After Covid slowed down the fight scene, he took some time to follow another passion, the cannabis community. Then, as he had some more free time, he began to explore the world of cryptocurrency. He's had a fascinating life thus far and I want to thank him for coming onto the exchange and sharing a great conversation with me. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/AwakenedExchanges) --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/awakened-exchanges/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/awakened-exchanges/support

The theory and practice of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist meditation seem ideally suited to confronting the stressful challenges we're now living through in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through a form of meditation called śamatha or "single-pointed attention," the meditator achieves vipaśyanā — in English vipassana or insight — "seeing into the nature of things." In Sanskrit, śamatha means "tranquility of mind," often called "calm abiding." Śamatha has five progressive stages: stable attention, powerful mindfulness, joy, tranquility, and finally, equanimity. The practice of calm abiding leads to insight. Without any formal connection to Buddhist meditation but because of common goals, we can find śamatha in the deeper, quieter, more contemplative forms of ambient music. On this transmission of Hearts of Space, a Buddhist-inspired ambient meditation, on a program called CALM ABIDING. Music is by ROBERT RICH, SPUNTIC, SAM ROSENTHAL & JARGUNA, NUMINA & ZERO OHMS, and KEITH BERRY. [ view playlist ] [ view Flickr image gallery ] [ play 30 second MP3 promo ]
