Velkommen til Poulsbo, Washington!  Poulsbo is located on Liberty Bay in North Kitsap County west of Seattle.  Nicknamed "Little Norway," the town was founded in the 1880s by Norwegian immigrant Jørgen Eliason.  Eliason was joined by other Scandinavians who relocated from other Midwestern States because of the areas similarities to their home countries.   The downtown is Scandinavian themed and even has a 12 foot tall Norseman statue located in the heart of town.  The primary language of the town was Norwegian until World War II, when an influx of workers for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard tripled the town's population in three years.  Poulsbo holds it's annual Viking Fest every May to celebrate it's rich heritage.  We hope you enjoy our trip to Poulsbo!

Austin Ekeler, star running back for the LA Chargers, joins Justin on this episode to get into everything his life has taught him on AND off the football field - especially as it pertains to mindset, wellness and competing with yourself! A hard-worker both on and off the field, playing at the Division-II college level, the NFL was far from a guarantee for Austin. Since going un-drafted in 2017, his determination and mindset to never be outworked has helped establish himself as one of the top running backs in the league, tying for first overall in touchdowns last season. Fitness is also a large part of who Austin is, with the gym being a constant that keeps him pushing forward and striving to better himself. Nicknamed “pound-for-pound” by his teammates for being the strongest player on the squad regardless of size, his old-school approach to training wows followers on social media. Connecting with his community has always been a passion of Austin's. In March 2020 he launched his Twitch channel to engage with fans while most were staying in and quickly became the biggest streamer in the NFL. Recognizing his popularity among the fantasy football community, Austin utilized his platform on Twitch to host leagues and grow his support beyond the Chargers fanbase. Additionally through the Austin Ekeler Foundation, he has begun paying his love of fitness forward, helping build a new weight room at Santa Barbara High School last summer and plans to do the same for other communities around the country. Pipeman compliments the album cover, which he feels the younger generation are missing out on, and Steve agrees and talks about how the album cover and visuals was all you could go on for when you were buying an album. They move onto the concept of the album which Steve worked on with John's son Chris who he is close with.Steve talks about the double edge sword he feels since John passed away, saying he still feels connected to him, but because their friendship was so long distance, he's used to the absence of him. He continues to talk about his relationship with John and how they became connected so closely. Steve talks about the new album, saying he could have taken the live performances and cleaned them up but that's not true to the performances. John may have hit a bad note here or there, but the energy and the performance is really what people want to hear. He also says there's tracks they weren't going to do anything with which he decided to include in volume 1 too, as well as a song with Keith Moon. The best place to find the new album would be to go to johnentwistle.com, where you'll be able to find a number of collectables, and will also be the place to find Volume 2 when that comes out too!JOHN ENTWISTLE‘S RARITIES OXHUMED - VOLUME ONE, FEATURING UNRELEASED AND REMASTERED STUDIO TRACKS, DEMOS, AND LIVE RECORDINGS IS COMING OCTOBER 21ST. The most prolific and significant of all his work was with John Entwistle, best known as the iconic bass guitarist for The Who. The two musicians became the best of friends. Luongo produced, performed, co-wrote, and toured with The John Entwistle Band until Entwistle's death in 2002. Their last live performance together was in Japan during the A Walk Down Abbey Road tour. Later that year he was invited by The Who and Entwistle's family to write and read the eulogy at Entwistle's memorial service in London. In 2007, Luongo served as producer and composer for a studio band he created with AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams, in which Williams recruited frontman Brian Johnson as the vocalist. The project later known as Forklift gave birth to 7 tracks. "Chain Gang on the Road" was the only track offered by the quartet and was briefly available for a free download during a run of US tour dates in 2007. In 2012 Luongo began a musical partnership with Cheap Trick vocalist Robin Zander by forming The Robin Zander Band. Zander was among the first to be asked to appear in Luongo's documentary film An Ox's Tale - The John Entwistle Story about the late John Entwistle (https://youtu.be/PwZrLRBkAfk)John Entwistle is best known as the legendary bassist for the Who. We will also take you behind the scenes with an expanded booklet with never-before-seen photos and a look into life on the road with John Entwistle. As Steve Luongo comments, “John and I began touring together in 1987. Every tour was more fun than the last. That was the idea. Play loud aggressive rock & roll, have fun, laugh our asses off, travel to the next gig, and repeat. During the 15 years that we worked together as a rhythm section, we remained true to that cause. Along the way we recorded some records and created a sizable catalog of ideas and material for the future. The future is now.”The album cover concept was conceived by Steve Luongo and Chris Entwistle (John's son). It gives a nod to John's dark sense of humor and includes many of John's favorite things. The two also worked with celebrity designer Queenie (Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Cardi B) to create two commemorative pieces of jewelry based on the Entwistle Crest. These are limited to only 300 each of both a necklace and keychain. Steve starts with why he's here today, to talk about the John Entwistle Rarities Oxhumed - Volume One, which is a collection of never heard before music, and they decided it was time for the world to hear them, especially with dans pleading with him to put some material out for the last couple years. PREVIEW TRACK “I'LL TRY AGAIN TODAY” IS OUT NOW.Steve Luongo has produced, performed, and recorded with several well-known artists including Leslie West of Mountain, Cream bassist Jack Bruce, Eddie Money, Alan Parsons, Todd Rundgren, Heart's Ann Wilson, Ritchie Blackmore, Mark Farner, Joe Walsh, Billy Squier. Nicknamed the Ox and Thunderfingers, Entwistle's music career spanned over four decades and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of the Who in 1990. Renowned for his musical abilities, he was voted as the greatest bassist of all time in a 2011 Rolling Stone magazine readers' poll and in its special "100 Greatest Bass Players" issue in 2017. Bass Player magazine named Entwistle at number seven.Rarities Oxhumed - Volume One is the first in a series of posthumous releases coming from John Entwistle as part of a new partnership with Deko Entertainment and longtime friend and collaborator Steve Luongo. This first one has unreleased and remastered studio tracks, demos, and live tracks with gems like “Bogey Man” featuring Keith Moon, “Where You Going Now” (demo for the Who), and a raw live version of “Trick of the Light” recorded during the John Entwistle Band's final tour in 2001. As Deko president, Bruce Pucciarello, states, “Hearing the foundation of sound that John Entwistle provided Pete Townshend on Live at Leeds was transformational for me. Watching Steve find these never heard gems from John's career and making them available to the public is an honor for everyone involved.” The first preview of what's to come is the remastered release of “I'll Try Again Today.”Pipeman's Power of Music is a music and interview segment of The Adventures of Pipeman Radio Show (#pipemanradio) and from The King of All Festivals while on The Pipeman Radio Tour. Nicknamed "the Killer", he was described as "rock and roll's first great wild man and one of the most influential pianists of the 20th century". A pioneer of rock and roll and rockabilly music, Lewis made his first recordings in 1952 at Cosimo Matassa's J&M Studio in New Orleans, Louisiana, and early recordings in 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee. "Crazy Arms" sold 300,000 copies in the South, and his 1957 hit "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" shot Lewis to fame worldwide. He followed this with the major hits "Great Balls of Fire", "Breathless", and "High School Confidential". His rock and roll career faltered in the wake of his marriage to Myra Gale Brown, his 13-year-old cousin once removed. Lewis had a dozen gold records in rock and country. He won four Grammy awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and two Grammy Hall of Fame Awards.Lewis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and his pioneering contribution to the genre was recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the inaugural class inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022. In 1989, his life was chronicled in the movie Great Balls of Fire, starring Dennis Quaid. In 2003, Rolling Stone listed his box set All Killer, No Filler: The Anthology at number 242 on their list of "500 Greatest Albums of All Time". Lewis was the last surviving member of Sun Records' Million Dollar Quartet and the album Class of '55, which also included Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and Elvis Presley. Music critic Robert Christgau said of Lewis: "His drive, his timing, his offhand vocal power, his unmistakable boogie-plus piano, and his absolute confidence in the face of the void make Jerry Lee the quintessential rock and roller." https://jerryleelewis.com/ https://m.facebook.com/JerryLeeLewis/ https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/jerry-lee-lewis-dead-obituary-1234616945/amp/ https://open.spotify.com/artist/2zyz0VJqrDXeFDIyrfVXSo https://www.instagram.com/jerryleelewisthekiller/?hl=en https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4bB5xL577r4&autoplay=1 https://twitter.com/jerryleelewis?lang=en @Jerryleelewis @Greatballsoffire @Thekiller @breathless @sunrecord @pianoplayer @rockabilly #Jerryleelewis #greatballsoffire #rockabilly #rocknroll #piano #sunrecord Please follow us on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.com https://linktr.ee/RobRossi Get your T-shirt at https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpedup And https://www.bonfire.com/store/getting-lumped-up/ https://app.hashtag.expert/?fpr=roberto-rossi80 https://dc2bfnt-peyeewd4slt50d2x1b.hop.clickbank.net Subscribe to the channel and hit the like button This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/getting-lumped-up-with-rob-rossi/id1448899708 https://open.spotify.com/show/00ZWLZaYqQlJji1QSoEz7a https://www.patreon.com/Gettinglumpedup --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support

Topic: Spain Turns to Corruption Rehab for Officials Who Can't Stop Stealing Carlos Alburquerque isn't your typical rehab candidate. He's a 75-year-old grandfather living in Córdoba, a city in southern Spain. He was a town notary before he retired in 2015. He hasn't touched drugs or alcohol in years. 卡洛斯‧阿布奎基不是常人眼中該進勒戒所的人。他住在西班牙南部哥多華市,是個75歲的祖父。2015年退休前他是市鎮公證人。他已多年沒碰毒品和酒。 But his isn't your typical rehab program: It's an 11-month boot camp to reform corrupt Spanish officials and “reinsert” them into mainstream society. 但他接受的並非一般勒戒計畫,而是為期11個月的訓練營,目的是改造西班牙的貪官汙吏,並將他們「重新注入」主流社會。 “Repairing the damage is what is left for me in this life,” said Alburquerque, who is serving a four-year prison sentence for stealing around 400,000 euros (nearly $500,000) in his work drawing up contracts and deeds. 阿布奎基說:「這一生只求彌補過錯。」他在草擬合約和地契時私吞約40萬歐元(近50萬美元),被判入獄4年。 Over the course of 32 sessions in an austere conference room in Córdoba's penitentiary, Alburquerque will be monitored by a team of psychiatrists. He will sit for group therapy sessions with titles like “personal abilities” and “values.” He is, in some ways, the guinea pig of an experiment meant to answer an age-old question: Buried deep in the soul of a swindler like Alburquerque, might there be an honest man? That such a program exists in Spain may say much about the country's belief in second chances as it does about how corruption has captured the public imagination here. Nicknamed “forever chemicals,” PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) have spread all throughout our environment, and have been linked to a long list of health problems including cancer. But according to a new paper in Science, an industrial solvent called dimethyl sulfoxide can actually break down a subset of PFAS chemicals. Ethan breaks down how this solvent works, how much this solution could help combat the PFAS crisis, and what science enthusiasts can take away from this discovery in this week's “Tip of the Iceberg.” The Sweaty Penguin is presented by Peril and Promise: a public media initiative from The WNET Group in New York, reporting on the issues and solutions around climate change. Jamie and Brienne switch to horseback as they travel to King's Landing. This gives them time to discuss who is the bigger Kingslayer. Jamie dreams of his infamous act. Mackelly and Simon try to interpret.  Chapter Review:Jamie Lannister spots an inn and Brienne brings the boat to shore so they can sleep under a roof. However, the proprietor is a bit dodgy and after dinner they decide to push on immediately. The inn has horses in the stables, and Brienne blows a big chunk of their per diem on securing rides. This also means that Jamie's leg irons must be struck, although the vision of trying to get the horse to step his back legs over the chain to allow Jamie to shimmy aboard is rather delicious. The three (don't forget the always forgettable Ser Cleos Frey) ride through the night, scrupulously avoiding the route that the barkeep suggested along Get Robbed and Murdered Avenue. When they've put some miles between them and the inn, they camp. Jamie and Brienne chat about chivalry, vows, kingslaying, all the fun stuff. They don't really see eye to eye. Jamie continues to look for opportunities to escape. That night Jamie dreams of killing Aerys. How the king had ordered him to murder his father Tywin. How the tyrant plotted with his pyromancer to do some mischief (Jamie killed him too). And how he didn't sit the Iron Throne to claim anything, he was just curious who would be first to come and claim it. Of course it would be judgy Ned Stark, who saw the ambitious and murderous Lannister usurping the hard won throne, rather than just Jamie: tired and dispirited.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Jamie Lannister - Member of the royal Kingsguard. How one small step can make a huge difference in the long term. What 2 magic words will dramatically boost your success. What the 97/3 rule is. Show Notes: When we have epic plans and desires, we can keep from being overwhelmed by making that first step Take steps and create structure and everything becomes easier Two magic words are "not yet". It contains hope and optimism. Not yet shows you are on the way. "No" is a lot more mentally defeating than "Not Yet."  Zander was on an epic journey to become a licensed counselor and it was interrupted by the pandemic. It gave him time to reflect and realize that everything begins with a first step and then another. Zander is also a proponent of being structured. It makes everything easier. Zander believes that 97% of our day is good and maybe 3% isn't. We need to not focus so much on the 3%. In baseball, hall of fame athletes have a batting average of somewhere in the 300s. This is getting it right a third of the time. We usually get it right more than 1/3 of the time in our lives. Keep things in perspective. If the majority of your day is good you should be focusing on that. Don't ignore all the good things going on. Enjoy the journey. Zander Sprague's Recharge Round What habit do you think has led to success in your life? Creating structure. If you had one do-over, what would it be? Edward Henry "Harry" Greb (June 6, 1894 – October 22, 1926) was an American professional boxer. Nicknamed "The Pittsburgh Windmill", he is widely regarded by many boxing historians as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers of all time. He was the American light heavyweight champion from 1922 to 1923 and the world middleweight champion from 1923 to 1926. Nicknamed “the most beautiful woman in Alaska,” 31-year-old Diane Wells was bruised and bloodied when she screamed for help in the early hours of October 17, 1953. Her husband Cecil, a wealthy Fairbanks businessman, had been shot dead, and she claimed they were the victims of a brutal home invasion.Blonde, glamorous and 20 years younger than Cecil, police were immediately suspicious of Diane's account, and the investigation soon turned toward her alleged lover, black musician Johnny Warren, who had left town the night of the murder. The scandal hit the pages of Newsweek, Life, Jet and the pulp detective magazines, and nearly 70 years later, journalist James T. Bartlett uncovers new evidence including an unpublished memoir, unseen photographs, and re-examines the FBI files. He tracks down and interviews the people close to Cecil, Diane, Johnny, and the mysterious “Third Suspect”, dance instructor William Colombany, to reveal the story of “the most notorious and baffling murder in the history of Fairbanks.” THE ALASKAN BLONDE: Sex, Secrets, and the Hollywood Story that Shocked America-James T.
