The NYPD says police officers shot and killed a 33 year old man in East Flatbush in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, an investigation is ongoing. Also, New York City will pay $1.6 million to a man who was sexually abused by a physical therapist while he was held at Rikers Island in response to a lawsuit. And lastly, WNYC will be hosting and broadcasting a debate Monday night among the three candidates in the Democratic primary for the Senate seat held by Bob Menendez. The candidates are Congressman Andy Kim, Patricia Campos Medina and Larry Hamm, and mostly likely whoever wins this primary will be the next senator since a Republican hasn't won a Senate race in New Jersey since 1972. WNYC's Michael Hill and Nancy Solomon, who has been covering the race joins our own Janae Pierre to discuss what issues they'll be exploring in the upcoming debate.

Welcome to the radio magazine that brings you news, commentary and analysis from a Black Left perspective. I’m Glen Ford, along with my co-host Nellie Bailey. Coming up: South Africa has been under Black political rule for a quarter century, but remains the most unequal society in the world. We’ll speak with the author of a book on South Africa’s poor people’s movement. And, the investigation into alleged collusion between Wikileaks, the Trump campaign and the Russian government is going into its third year, but there is still no hard evidence of so-called “collusion.” So, what’s behind all the anti-Russia hysteria? The celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday is both a national holiday and a political institution. But, Larry Hamm, chairman of the People’s Organization for Progress, headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, points out that Dr. King’s writings have not been incorporated into the nation’s public school curriculums. South Africa remains the world’s most unequal nation, despite the overthrow of white rule and racial apartheid,  25 years ago. Kerry Chance is an anthropologist at the University of Bergen, in Norway. She’s author of a new book on the millions of poor South Africans that struggle to find homes to raise their families. Dr. Chance’s book is titled, “Living Politics in South Africa’s Urban Shackland.” Since before the votes were counted in November, 2016, the Democrats and elements of the national security state have charged that Hillary Clinton lost the election because of collusion between the Russians, Wikileaks and the Trump campaign. But, more than two years later, there is still no hard evidence of collusion. We spoke with Ray McGovern, a former CIA analyst and one of the founders of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity.

Dr. King once said: “A riot is the language of the unheard.” Indeed, nowadays, a riot is often the language of the continually oppressed, unheard citizens who are still not afforded the same general rights as their white counterparts, and when protesting these injustices—all too often with the backdrop of a member of their community unjustifiably slain by a police officer—they are met with over-militarized force as an ever-presiding reminder of why they are having to protest in the first place. We spend the hour speaking with Larry Hamm who is described as “a relentless advocate for African-American people and the cause of human rights for more than 30 years.” Larry is chair of the People’s Organization for Progress in Newark, NJ which he helped to found in 1983. His work focuses on education, jobs, health care, police brutality and issues that arise in the Black community. He is quoted saying, “But there’s a certain realization you come to about the tempo of social change. It’s not the same as the tempo in an individual life. It’s a much longer beat. And we just have to keep doing what we can to keep pushing the struggle forward.” He is a leading voice in the growing national movement to end racially-biased and violent policing which has been inspired most recently by the events in Ferguson. We talk about his life’s work, where he sees the movement and the work ahead of us. For more information, visit www.ClearingtheFOGRadio.org.

This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of November 24, 2010 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary. This week's show commentary focused on things we're grateful for this Thanksgiving Weekend 2010 here in the States, the recent controversy with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening people with full body scanners &/or invasive pat downs who are getting ready to fly at airports, the Israeli military checking people's profiles to see if people are trying to avoid the draft, a situation in Boston where a bunch of Harvard & Yale Black Alumni were being called a "gang" when they were holding a party at a club and some other things here and there. This week we had a great interview with the great New York, NY independent Hip-Hop label and collective Odd Squad Records (http://www.reverbnation.com/label/OddSquadRecords). Shout out to the Elegant Hoodness Music Program (http://www.ElegantHoodness.ning.com) for leading the FuseBox Radio Broadcast to this opportunity! Some of the topics we covered in this in depth interview include each member's musical & environmental influences in Odd Squad Records, the history of the label & collective, everyone's past history in the music industry, what inspires Odd Squad creatively to make music daily, the need for balance in Hip-Hop music, past & future plans & music projects and lots more! We also have on a special hour segment on this week's show from our Black Agenda Report (http://www.BlackAgendaReprot.com) family with their "Black Agenda Radio" program. The description of that segment is below: The recommendations put forward by the two co-chairs of President Obama’s deficit reduction commission are so “over the top,” says consumer advocate Ralph Nader, “if there’s anything that ought to get the liberal left going, it’s this monstrosity, which Obama has to take some responsibility for.” The former presidential candidate says the assault on social programs “shows the hand of the corporate Democrats and their Republican allies in a very distinct way.” What’s not in the co-chairs’ proposal is as glaring as what’s included. “They didn’t say we should have a speculation tax on derivatives and other transactions of Wall Street,” for example, “which economists have estimated could raise $400 billion a year.” Black Is Back Rally in Washington, DC Eugenia Charles reports on the cholera epidemic in Haiti, where international aid “is not being used to support the Haitian people”; People’s Organization for Progress director Larry Hamm calls for renewed grassroots organizing to “build a movement stronger than the one we had in the Sixties”; and Black is Back chairman Omali Yeshitela says Barack Obama represents “white power in a Black face.” There are some brand new Black Agenda Report, Free Press "Media Minutes" & Direct EFX mini-segments on this week's syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast episode.
