So here in Nassau County, there has been quite a public back-and-forth between Republican County Executive Bruce Blakeman, and the minority Democratic caucus in the County Legislature. Mr. Blakeman needs at least one Democrat to sign on to help fund his 428 million dollar plan toward improvements to roads, parks and police equipment. Democrats want a promise that a certain percentage of the funds will be allocated specifically to Democratic districts, which they say are funds that Blakeman has denied. To learn more, we have invited Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, a Democrat from Glen Cove, and the Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader, to tell us what has happened and what needs to happen in order for the Democrats to give the County Executive the signature he wants. A similar invitation has been sent to Mr. Blakeman's office as well, and has not yet been accepted.
Glen Cove is a city in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, New York, United States. The city's population was 28,365 at the time of the 2020 census. Of Nassau County's five municipalities, Glen Cove is one of two that are cities, rather than towns – the other being Long Beach. Glen Cove was considered part of the affluent, early 20th-century Gold Coast of Long Island, as the properties located along the area's waterfront were initially developed as large country estates by wealthy entrepreneurs and businessmen (such as J.P. Morgan, Phipps, Pratt, and Prybil).[3] Historically, with the onset of the Industrial Revolution, Glen Cove blossomed in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture and local retail, all of which were operated and staffed by a diverse workforce. The local opportunities—for potential business owners, entrepreneurs, and those seeking employment—attracted numerous immigrants from Europe, largely from Ireland, Italy, and Eastern Europe. Since the 20th century, Glen Cove has also become the home for new waves of immigrants seeking opportunities from Central and South America, as well as parts of Asia. Send me a DM! ILY All!Today I'm honored to introduce to you all to: Medical Abuse Advocate and Whistleblower, Devoted Mother of Danielle, former interior designer, horseback rider, animal lover and caretaker, and a woman on a mission to expose what she appropriately calls the ‘Medical Holocaust': Rebecca CharlesRebecca Charles is a devoted mother turned advocate whose life took a dramatic turn following the tragic loss of her daughter, Danielle. For 28 years, Danielle was a ‘beacon of sweetness, love, and innocence', illuminating the lives of Rebecca and her family. Danielle's special needs, resulting from a birth injury caused by medical negligence, never diminished her spirit or the profound impact she had on those around her. However, Danielle's untimely death at the hands of doctors and nurses at Northwell Health Hospital in Glen Cove, NY exposed a harsh reality within the healthcare system - a reality faced by many but acknowledged by few. This devastating loss ignited Rebecca's fervent quest for truth and transparency in healthcare.Determined to honor Danielle's memory and prevent further tragedies, Rebecca founded Death by Hospital Protocol. This platform highlights systemic failures in hospital care and advocates for better practices and accountability. The "Death by Hospital Protocol" app serves as an essential resource for those requiring hospital care, offering advocacy and a beacon of hope.Rebecca is currently taking legal action against the hospitals and doctors involved in Danielle's death, despite the challenges of finding legal representation. She has prepared all the necessary paperwork herself and is tirelessly seeking justice for her daughter. You can support her efforts at GiveSendGo - Justice for Danielle. Before this life-altering event, Rebecca lived and worked in New York as an interior designer. Following the tragedy, she moved to Florida to find solace and distance from the memories that could plunge her into depression. Now, she lives on a farm with her husband and animals, who keep her busy and grounded.Rebecca dedicates her time to raising awareness about the dangerous shortcomings in our medical establishments and the so-called "white coat assassins" who, she believes, jeopardize the lives of our loved ones. Her relentless pursuit of justice and advocacy for systemic change in healthcare is a testament to her strength and unwavering love for her daughter, Danielle. For more insight into Rebecca's ongoing battle and experiences, please visit her SubstackCONNECT WITH REBECCA: Substack: https://rebeccacharles.substack.com/Website: Home - Death By Hospital ProtocolApp on Google: Death By Hospital Protocol - Apps on Google PlayApp on iTunes: Dbhp on the App Store (apple.com)Speech: Re-mastered CHD Video of 6/28 "We Can't Forget: Hospital Protocols, Past, Present & Future" Event (rumble.com)Twitter: X (twitter.com)DONATE: GiveSendGo | Justice for Danielle. Hour 1 Boomer is out today and Stugotz is filling in, so it's Gio & Stugotz. We started with the Mets beating the Yankees again as the Yankees continue to struggle at the plate. Gio doesn't believe in this Yankees lineup at all. The Yankees were supposed to be going for it this year which is why they went out and got Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo. Gio wonders what's the point in signing Soto if they don't go to the ALCS. C-Lo is in for Jerry and here for his first update of the day and has all the sounds from the Mets beating the Yankees. C-Lo has audio from Hard Knocks where Joe Schoen is very interested in Drake Maye. Bryson DeChambeau golfed with Donald Trump for his YouTube series and they talked about music playlists. In the final segment of the hour, we talked more about the Mets beating the Yankees last night in the Bronx Hour 2 Joe Schoen has become a star on Hard Knocks. Gio said last night was the most boring of all the episodes so far. Last night was about the deal the Giants wanted to make with the Patriots to grab Drake Maye. John Mara compared this draft to the Eli Manning draft. Stugotz wondered how Daniel Jones felt watching these episodes. We also talked about Tommy DeVito making Shaun Morash a human chicken cutlet. Gio wonders how Dave Gettleman wound up drafting Kadarius Toney. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Mets beating the Yankees. Paul Skenes lost the first game of his career with the Pirates. Brian Daboll talked to Nick Saban 2 hours before the draft. Gio thought he should have called him much earlier than that. In the final segment of the hour, Al has some sort of illness and Stugotz has been pooping during commercial breaks. Gio can't believe people get sick in July. Yesterday Gio hit a moving car with a golf ball. Hour 3 Stugotz got hit in the head with a golf ball right in the forehead. He said he was gushing blood but played the next hole. We took calls about Gio hitting a car while on the golf course. There was a debate whether Gio was liable or not and a few lawyers called in. An old school caller, John in Glen Cove, called in to talk to Gio for the first time in many years. He thinks the Yankees are under too much pressure and need to let their players grow their hair long. C-Lo returned for an update and started with all the sounds of the Mets beating the Yankees in the Bronx. The middle of the Yankees lineup has been a disaster. Bryson DeChambeau had Donald Trump on his YouTube golf show. In the final segment of the hour, Gio's daughter spilled water and he wanted her to get the towel herself. She was whining until Gio yelled at her to get the towel. He gave her 3 or 4 chances before he started yelling. He does not want to raise a spoiled child. Demon voice Gio was needed. Hour 4 We talked about Craig Carton calling a Yankees game in a few weeks. Stugotz did a Marlins game once and we have some clips. He said it's a lot harder to do than you would think. Gio and Boomer called a few Devils games and Gio said he was nervous and it was hard to do. We are going to Jets camp in a few weeks and Gio doesn't want another awkward Aaron Rodgers interview. He might prefer Al to interview him about UFO's and conspiracy theories. Or maybe Eddie could talk to him about stuff. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and has audio of CC Sabathia and a superstitious Derek Jeter. Johnny Damon was with BT and Sal and thinks he started another curse of the Bambino. C-Lo has audio from Hard Knocks analyzing potential draft picks. Saquon talked about his lack of relationship with Joe Schoen. 49'er Deommodore Lenoir's smoke detector has been chirping for over a year and he won't change the battery because he's superstitious. The Moment of The Day involves Donald Trump golfing with Bryson DeChambeau. In the final segment of the show, the Kelce brothers are doing a cereal that's a combination of a few cereals. Gio said when he was younger he used to love Grape Nuts. He would eat it with almond milk and Splenda.

Like we always do at this time of year, we present an important, alternative look at Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy, examining how the civil rights icon was so much more than simply the “I Have a Dream” soundbite, which has become known as the cornerstone of his public perception. Along with Pastor Roger C. Williams of the First Baptist Church of Glen Cove, NY, Larry Hamm, of the People's Organization for Progress, Hip Hop artist Silent Knight, and King's own words, listeners learn of MLK's Poor People's Campaign, which he believed would be his true legacy. More than likely, it was this that got him killed. News Beat is produced in association with Manny Faces Media. It's a must-read that every person, religious and non-religious, should buy and peruse every night before bed. It'll make you think harder, pray more ardently, and understand your civilization better." — Ben Shapiro, host of "The Ben Shapiro Show" "Dennis Prager's commentary on Exodus will rank among the greatest modern Torah commentaries. That is how important I think it is. And I am clearly not alone... It might well be on its way to becoming the most widely read Torah commentary of our time—and by non-Jews as well as by Jews." — Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, bestselling author of Jewish Literacy Why do so many people think the Bible, the most influential book in world history, is outdated? Why do our friends and neighbors – and sometimes we ourselves – dismiss the Bible as irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Exodus, the second book of the Bible, will demonstrate that the Bible is not only powerfully relevant to today's issues, but completely consistent with rational thought. Do you think the Bible permitted the trans-Atlantic slave trade? You won't after reading this book. Do you struggle to love your parents? If you do, you need this book. Do you doubt the existence of God because belief in God is “irrational?” This book will give you reason after reason to rethink your doubts. The title of this commentary is, “The Rational Bible” because its approach is entirely reason-based. The reader is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. As Prager says, “If something I write does not make rational sense, I have not done my job.” The Rational Bible is the fruit of Dennis Prager's forty years of teaching the Bible to people of every faith, and no faith. On virtually every page, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world and to your life. His goal: to change your mind – and then change your life. Highly Recommended by ACU. This explanation of the Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, demonstrates clearly and powerfully that the opposite is true. The Bible remains profoundly relevant—both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. It is the greatest moral guide and source of wisdom ever written. Do you doubt the existence of God because you think believing in God is irrational? This book will give you many reasons to rethink your doubts. Do you think faith and science are in conflict? You won't after reading this commentary on Genesis. Do you come from a dysfunctional family? It may comfort you to know that every family discussed in Genesis was highly dysfunctional! The title of this commentary is “The Rational Bible” because its approach is entirely reason-based. The reader is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. In Dennis Prager's words, “If something I write is not rational, I have not done my job.” The Rational Bible is the fruit of Dennis Prager's forty years of teaching the Bible—whose Hebrew grammar and vocabulary he has mastered—to people of every faith and no faith at all. On virtually every page, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world in general and to you personally. His goal: to change your mind—and, as a result, to change your life. The Rational Bible: Deuteronomy: God, Blessings, and Curses by Dennis Prager Is the Bible, the most influential book in world history, still relevant? Why do people dismiss it as being irrelevant, irrational, immoral, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Bible, will demonstrate how it remains profoundly relevant - both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. Do you doubt the existence of God because you think believing in God is irrational? This book will cause you to reexamine your doubts. The title of this commentary is The Rational Bible because its approach is entirely reason-based. The listener is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. The Gold Coast along Long Island's north shore is most often celebrated as a showcase for the rich and famous in the early 20th Century. A decidedly different aspect of that reputation comes into view when you consider the years leading up to America's entry into World War I. The Morgan Bank, headed by J.P. Morgan, Jr. with his estate in Glen Cove, played a pivotal role in financing and finding supplies for Britain in the early years of the war. Other famous North Shore families, notably former president Theodore Roosevelt of Oyster Bay, pushed for the United States to enter the war. Richard Welch presents this story in his book Long Island's Gold Coast Elite and World War I (History Press). He details the world of the Gold Coast and its prominent families, along with their important industry connections and political leanings. From financial dealings to political activism, large scale rallies, and even pushing their own children to serve, these families helped bring America into the war. Journey of the Self: Memoir of an Artist with Ruth Poniarski Ruth Poniarski set out to find the ideal friend and the perfect mate, but what she encountered were spells of paranoia, extreme anxiety, and hallucinations. Trying to navigate her cyclic malady, she undertook a rigorous architectural program in search of her passion. What she discovered on her journey is captured brilliantly in this unflinchingly honest memoir. Ruth Poniarski was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1956 and grew up in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York. She attended public schools and when she was seven years old her mother took her to a life drawing class where she depicted a sketch of a nude woman. From that moment onward Ruth became a keen observer of the physical world and was drawn to art and the build environment. Williams of the First Baptist Church of Glen Cove, NY, Larry Hamm, of the People's Organization for Progress, hip-hop artist Silent Knight, and King's own words, listeners learn of MLK's Poor People's Campaign, which he believed would be his true legacy. More than likely, it was this that got him killed. News Beat is a Morey Creative Studios production, in association with Manny Faces Media. Join Shaner as he celebrates the Marine Corps Birthday, honors Veterans Day and discusses one of the most iconic Marines ever, Dan Daly, a legendary badass.Daniel Joseph Daly was born on November 11, 1873 in Glen Cove, New York. Daly was one of two Marines to receive the Medal of Honor for two separate combat engagements. The other Marine was Major General Smedley Butler, whom we highlighted in our 5th episode. They served together in a few locations and Butler described Daly as "The fightin'est Marine I ever knew!" Daly was reportedly offered an officer's commission twice to which he responded that he would rather be "an outstanding sergeant than just another officer."

Haunted Mansions and Levitations are this week's frightening fascinations on SkeleTales. Inspired by a brush with brunch violence at The Mansion at Glen Cove on Long Island's Gold Coast, Alissa explores the haunted history of New York's opulent gilded age retreats and the ghosts within. Britt then elevates the fear factor with tales of her latest paranormal obsession: levitation. An entity in Shrewsbury, England that lifts children from their beds while they slumber and the bizarre tale of possessed children in Gary Indiana will have you tucking yourself in bit more tightly this evening. Night whistling, haunted dolls and LSD are also topics of discussion and divergence in this week's episode of SkeleTales. As always, thanks for listening and Haunt Y'all Later! If you want us to read your story on the podcast please e-mail it to us at:skeletalespodcast@gmail.comSupport the show
This week we're once again diving into the realm of hyper-paranoia and New Age conspiracy theories as we tackle the strange and disturbing story of The Nine. In 1953 at the Round Table Foundation lab in Glen Cove, Maine, parapsychologist Dr Andrija Puharich, channeler D.G. Vinod, and eight members of America's oldest, wealthiest, and most intelligence-agency-connected families made psychic contact with an entity or group of entities known only as The Nine. These nine principals of God (as they called themselves) told the ultra-rich and ultra-spooky attendees that they were the new ruling class of this world, and that they needed to begin the great work of enacting The Nine's plan. From there, the tendrils of The Nine wrap around 20th century America like Cthulhu strangling the life force out of it. With connections to the JFK assassination, Project Stargate, the intellectual counterculture, the Esalen Institute, and the entirety of the New Age, it is impossible to escape the influence of The Nine even today. But what was this entity? Was it a real phenomenon or a CIA psyop on steroids (or LSD, datura, and amanita muscaria mushrooms all at once)? And why did Andrija Puharich have a tendency to hypnotize people and tell them they were channeling The Nine? And why did Uri Geller run away from Puharich as soon as he had the chance? You might never trust anything ever again, but hey, it's gonna be fun.
