EP 89 | God Is the Author of the Bible (with Dr. Bill Roach) | Redeeming Truth: Touchy Subjects Jon Benzinger, Dr. F David Farnell, and Dr. Bill Roach discuss biblical inerrancy. When it comes to the Scriptures, we believe in the inspiration of Scripture, meaning that the Bible is the Word of God. God is the ultimate source of Scripture. If that's the case, there are going to be some critical characteristics of Scripture that are going to be obvious if God is the author. One of those characteristics is inerrancy, meaning that it's not going to have any errors. This is (and has been for many years) a touchy subject. Our goal for this podcast is the think through these things on a level that will be helpful. EP 87 | God the Son Explained (Our Doctrinal Statement) | Redeeming Truth Distinguishing the God of the Bible. Pastors Jon Benzinger, Dale Thackrah, and Kyle Swanson discuss God the Son. Who is God the Son? If you can not affirm the true deity of Christ, you are not a Christian. God The Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. We teach that the eternally divine Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity, the visible image of God, through Whom God the Father created the world and currently upholds it, is not created or eternally subordinate to the Father ontologically, though He is satisfyingly subordinate to the Father relationally. He was prophetically predicted in the Old Testament, became truly human when He was conceived by the Holy Spirit in a virgin named Mary and was born Jesus of Nazareth. His divine and human natures are now and forever united in His one Person, without mixture, confusion, division or separation. At no time during His stay on earth was Jesus anything other than truly Divine though He had all the limitations that come with being human, yet without sin or a sinful nature. We consider Him our final Prophet, Great High Priest and Sovereign King. His existence, virgin conception and birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings are true and historical, as are His substitutionary, atoning, once-for-all-time death, burial, physical resurrection, ascension into heaven, present building of and perpetual intercession for His church. He will return to reign as earth's King in the future. In light of all of this, belief in Him is the only way any person can or ever will be saved. Pastors Jon Benzinger, Dale Thackrah, Kyle Swanson, and Costi Hinn answer key questions from listeners of the Redeeming Truth Podcast.
Some people chase dreams and visions, others rudely dismiss any supernatural claim as nothing but fakery. How should we respond to people who say they had a dream or a vision? Could those experiences be real, fake, or even demonic? Can God reach people through dreams or is He limited? In this episode of #RedeemingTruth, Pastors Costi Hinn, and Jon Benzinger offer balanced & biblical wisdom on how to approach this subject. When it comes to these topics, Christians need biblical answers. Can you be a gay Christian? Should we use someone’s preferred pronoun? If something is a sin, is it sinful to want to do it even if we don’t act on it? If Jesus was tempted like us, does that mean He had homosexual temptations? In this extensive interview, Costi Hinn asks Dr. Owen Strachan and Gavin Peacock the toughest questions about lust, homosexuality, and transgenderism. If you are navigating homeschooling for the first time, the questions and opinions around this topic can be confusing and unrealistic. How do we build a learning environment in the home around children of multiple ages and schedules? How do we encourage relational learning? When do we allow children to pursue their interests and when do we enforce study in areas they don't enjoy? In this episode of #RedeemingTruth, Pastor Costi Hinn and Kids Ministry Director Tiffany Webb take an objective look at homeschooling while providing practical input and resources to help you to be successful. We all want to use the Bible to encourage ourselves and others, and we need to handle God’s precious word faithfully while doing that. Trying to speak truth about purpose, being fearless, and living courageously can sometimes lead us to have the right idea while using the wrong passage. Truths about God’s favor, protection, and purposes are plentiful in the Bible, but we should not lose focus of “context.” In this episode of #RedeemingTruth, pastors Costi Hinn, Jon Benzinger, Dale Thackrah, and Kyle Swanson tie accurate biblical concepts with the correct verses. This is a conversation that must be had during a time like this. With the Coronavirus spreading rapidly around the world, many false teachers are capitalizing on COVID-19 as a way to spread false doctrine. If faith healers can heal, then why has Bethel and other prosperity gospel teachers closed the doors to their healing rooms? Why are they not out healing the sick, even before the government ordered lockdowns? Why are they not standing before the press with evidence that they can heal people from COVID-19? It’s time to ask hard questions and try to pull people out of harm’s way. What did Jesus mean when He said, “Ask for anything in My name and I’ll do it?” (John 14:14). Some Christians believe that this phrase is a magic solution that makes God give us whatever we want. But is that what it means to pray “in” someone’s name? If it does, why doesn’t everybody get a miracle and a brand new house when they use this phrase in prayer? Did Jesus mean that we should pray for physical healings and material goods? Is it sinful to pray for those things? In this short episode of #RedeemingTruth, we'll clear the confusion surrounding what it means to pray “in Jesus’ name.” Redeemer Bible Church: www.redeemeraz.org Follow Jon Benzinger: https://twitter.com/jonbenz Follow Costi Hinn: https://twitter.com/costiwhinn https://www.facebook.com/costiwhinn/ https://www.instagram.com/costiwhinn/
