linktr.ee/CatchingUpOnCinema This week, Trevor conducts a solo review of Rolfe Kanefsky's, There's Nothing Out There (1991)! A silly and boob-tacular horror-comedy, There's Nothing Out There (1991) is a fun little creature feature that is made infinitely more watchable (and memorable) due to the inclusion of Mike (Craig Peck), a self-aware, horror movie aficionado/audience proxy that is thankfully more entertaining than annoying. This week we’re talking about Rolfe Kanefsky’s self-aware(ish) horror/comedy THERE’S NOTHING OUT THERE! It stars Craig Peck, John Carhart III, Bonnie Bower, Wendy Bednarz & Claudia Flores as a group of “teenage” friends who head out to a house by a pond(NOT a cabin by the lake) where they’re picked off by an otherworldly tentacle-monster. It’s a fun movie and well done, but, certainly shares very little in common with Scream. We also kind of hated the Mike character, today he would definitely be a “well, actually…” Twitter guy. Ooh, a fallen cloud!
Guyguy and Timbly have just watched Emmanuelle vs Dracula, written by young auteur Rolfe Kanefsky, a man who made his first feature film at 20 with a satirical horror film that pre-dates the original Scream film by five years! Today's softcore is a dreadfully boring film, drenched in mid-2000s fashion (both hair and clothing) and is decidedly Emmanuelle-light. The titular character is given very little to do until she has an orgasm competition with Dracula at the movie's climax - which admittedly is a fun cinematic idea!TWIOAT Live show in Auckland: qtheatre.co.nz/shows/worst-idea-all-time-best-host-all-timeGuy's NZ Comedy Fest show: comedyfestival.co.nz/find-a-show/guy-montgomery/Tim's NZ Comedy Fest show: comedyfestival.co.nz/find-a-show/classy-warfare/JOIN US ON FACEBOOK: (facebook.com/WorstIdeaOfAllTime)VISIT THE LITTLE EMPIRE PODCAST NETWORK: (littleempirepodcasts.com)MUSIC CREDIT: Tender Moonlight (facebook.com/TenderMoonlight)ART CREDIT: Tomas Cottle (sick-days.com) See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 63 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! We’ve reached the final installment of the Embrace the Darkness trilogy already. Part II was one of the best movies we’ve done in a long time (according to everyone other than Jimmy Ether, at least). Will Part III get the same kind of amazing reception? We’ve got two guests - Lee Russell from They Must Be Destroyed On Sight! podcast and film composer/musician Timothy Fife - to help us work that out. It goes in some weird directions, let’s just say that. This time, Jennifer has to decide between a romance with a mortal journalist, and one with a 200 year old vampire named Victor who wants to make her the Queen of the Vampires. What will she choose? The answer will - quite honestly - surprise you. That said, the big surprise is also the most disappointing thing about the film - fan favourite vampiric weirdo Jack is written out of the film very early on. RIP Jack. Your bizarre line delivery will never be forgotten. Out-acting the heck out of practically everyone in this movie is the always delightful Tiffany Shepis. Naturally, we focus on her life and career in our Spotlight, which is handy because it turns out Lee is a SUPER FAN. She’s well on her way to 150 credits on IMDB, and she’s only just hit 40. And it’s worth noting that at least a handful of those credits are with friend of the show Rolfe Kanefsky! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! On this special episode of Piecing It Together, I interview and get reactions from writer/director Rolfe Kanefsky about our episode that we did on Bus Party To Hell (Episode 8 of this show). This is the first in what we hope to make a regular series of getting reactions from filmmakers. This was the perfect opportunity to do this first one though because the movie, Bus Party To Hell, which has been available on VOD, iTunes and most streaming movie stores for a while now, is finally out TODAY on Blu-ray/DVD! It can be purchased from many popular stores that sell movies, and on June 26th, it hits 20,000 Redbox locations across the country. So be on the look-out for Bus Party To Hell, a crazy, blood & boob filled movie in which a satanic cult stops a party bus on its way to Burning Man and all hell breaks loose. Starring Tara Reid, Sadie Katz and Stefani Blake. On the 8th episode of Piecing It Together, co-host Chad Clinton Freeman and I discuss Bus Party To Hell (formerly known as Party Bus To Hell). This wild, blood soaked throwback from the Mahal Brothers and director Rolfe Kanefsky starts with a Party Bus headed to Burning Man, but everything goes off the rails when demon worshipping cannibals turn the party into a blood bath. Also, I did the theme song and a couple other songs for the soundtrack. Puzzle pieces include The Hills Have Eyes, From Dusk Till Dawn, Evil Dead 2, and Requiem for a Dream. As always, SPOILER ALERT for Bus Party To Hell. https://www.facebook.com/buspartytohell/ You can also download a FREE copy of the theme song "Party Bus To Hell" from Soundcloud at http://www.soundcloud.com/bydavidrosen/party-bus-to-hell-theme Chad Clinton Freeman is the founder of the Pollygrind Film Festival and is currently helping plan the Ironton Wizardfest. Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 19 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! It's the end of an era, as we reach the final movie in Rolfe Kanefsky's triumphant Emmanuelle Through Time series: Emmanuelle's Forbidden Pleasures! Turns out the whole series has been a secret sequel to the Sex Files series, and also that every previous Emmanuelle is the same Emmanuelle but in a different body and/or dimension. It is both exciting to be moving on to another series in a few weeks time, and mildly sad to have reached the end of this one. Things get a bit sappy at one point. We also turn the spotlight onto the life and career of Frances Reagan James, aka Russia Hardy, who plays official military psychic Mandy in the series, and is trained in like 300 different types of dance.
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 16 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! And this is the big one! This episode, we look at the sixth episode of the Emmanuelle Through Time series, Adventures into the Woods: A Sexy Musical, aka Emmanuelle in Wonderland, aka Emmanuelle's Sex Tales. And who better to talk about the movie with than writer and director Rolfe Kanefsky?! Yes, superstar director Rolfe Kanefsky joins us for an epic three hour episode of Get Soft, in which we chat about his career as both a writer and director, talk about how you manage to make seven films in just 54 days, and also find out what it's actually like working with the inimitable Robert Donavan. Spoiler: it's so awesome that Rolfe literally cannot stop doing it. All that and much, much more! This really is the big one!
Join Andy & Phantom Dark Dave as they interview writer and director Rolfe Kanefsky. He's the man behind such films as The Nightmare Man, The Hazing, There's Nothing Out There, & his newest feature The Black Room starring Natasha Henstridge & Lin Shaye. Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 12 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! It's time to check out another instalment of Rolfe Kanefsky's world-beating Emmanuelle Through Time series, with Emmanuelle's Supernatural Sexual Activity! It's basically like a what-if kind of situation: what if the ghost in Paranormal Activity was a sexually frustrated dead nerd? Also what if a ghost gave Ron Jeremy a lap dance and then the ghost disappeared and made it look like Ron Jeremy was just humping the air while sitting in a squeaky office chair? If those are questions you need to find out the answers to, then we have the film for you. Plus, we look at the life and times of Nataliya Joy Prieto, who plays the adorable and wonderful Renee in the series. We were going to check out Faye Reagan's life but it turns out that's a real bummer. Conversely, it turns out Nataliya Joy is, appropriately, an absolutely joy!
In this episode of the horror review/discussion show 'Screams After Midnight,' the guys look at 'The Black Room' which is a raunchy supernatural movie with very little taste. The film is Directed by Rolfe Kanefsky and stars Natasha Henstridge, Lukas Hassel and Lin Shaye. patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mildfuzztvtwitter: https://twitter.com/Mild_Fuzzfacebook: https://www.facebook.com/mildfuzznetwork
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode seven of our spin-off show about the weird world of soft-core skin-flicks! It's a special one this episode, as the gang (joined by special guest, Made for TV Mayhem's Amanda) continue working through the Emmanuelle Through Time with the third film in the series: Sex, Chocolate and Emmanuelle! Why is it special? Because this one's only ever been released on DVD in Japan, and the DVD is out of print, so director Rolfe Kanefsky kindly and personally hooked us up with a copy! Thanks Rolfe! Plus, we look into the career of Rena Riffel, who guest stars as the film's antagonist, Willa Wanker! Apparently she's an inventor! Who knew?! (Also, why not pick up a copy of Amanda's book Are You In The House Alone?: A TV Movie Compendium 1964-1999 [ here](https://www.amazon.com/Are-You-House-Alone-Compendium/dp/1909394440)?)
For our massive 100th episode we explored Meta-Horror with Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994), Scream (1996), and Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's Cabin in the Woods (2012). (Including material from our live Tweet with fans for New Nightmare.) We also shed a little light on perhaps the first Meta-Horror movie, Rolfe Kanefsky's There's Nothing Out There (1991). “Not in my Movie”: The 90s Slasher Cycle and Grrrl Power by Alexandra West Horror Film and Psycho Analysis; Freud's Worst Nightmare by Jonathan Crane Watch Copycat, the story of Rolfe Konefsky's There's Nothing Out There.
Award-winning director/screenwriter Rolfe Kanefsky visits Movie Addict Headquarters to discuss “1 in theGun,” his neo-noir thriller scheduled for DVD release on November 8. Kanefsky has written and directed 15 feature films, including “Pretty Cool,” “Dead Scared,” and “There’s Nothing Out There.” He earned a top screenplay award at the L.A. Shriekfest competition and was the subject of a featured cover story for Hollywood Scriptwriter magazine. Kanefsky’s features have been selected and won multiple awards at various prestigious film festivals. Producer Esther Goodstein, who plays a small but important role in Kanefsky's 1 in the Gun, also joins in the lively discussion.
