This week Sean and Jeff talked about the most evil or ‘devilish' movies in history in honor of I Hate Critics episode 666 Both Sean and Jeff offered their Top 5 Demon/Devil Movies and had Bob been able to join us, we would have stayed on theme with three Top 6 countdowns but it simply didn't make sense without him. Sean - Abby (1974) An archaeologist (William Marshall) tries to rid a minister's (Terry Carter) wife (Carol Speed) of a spewing demon dug up in Nigeria. The Devil and Father Amorth (2018) In 1973 he brought us the film classic, The Exorcist. 45 years later, Academy Award-winning director William Friedkin brings us the real thing. The Last Exorcism 2010 After years of gulling the faithful, cleric Cotton Marcus (Patrick Fabian) feels remorse and decides to expose his chicanery through filming a documentary. With a crew in tow, Marcus arrives at the Louisiana farm of devout Louis Sweetzer, who believes that his daughter, Nell, is possessed. When the usual stunts fail, he realizes that he is face-to-face with real evil and must summon true faith to protect Nell, the others and himself from demonic power. The Witch (2015) In 1630 New England, panic and despair envelops a farmer, his wife and their children when youngest son Samuel suddenly vanishes. The family blames Thomasin, the oldest daughter who was watching the boy at the time of his disappearance. With suspicion and paranoia mounting, twin siblings Mercy and Jonas suspect Thomasin of witchcraft, testing the clan's faith, loyalty and love to one another. Hereditary (Number 1 for both Sean and Jeff) When the matriarch of the Graham family passes away, her daughter and grandchildren begin to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry, trying to outrun the sinister fate they have inherited. Jeff's Remaining List Prince of Darkness 1987 Poking around in a church cellar, a priest (Donald Pleasence) finds an otherworldly vial filled with slime. Frightened, he brings his discovery to a circle of top scholars and scientists, who eventually learn that the strange liquid is the essence of Satan. The slime then begins to seep out, turning some of the academics into zombified killers. As the possessed battle the survivors, student Kelly (Susan Blanchard) is infected by a large quantity of the liquid and becomes Satan personified. House of the Devil (2009) Desperate to make some money so she can move into a new apartment, college student Samantha Hughes (Jocelin Donahue) takes a mysterious babysitting job. When she arrives at the house, Mr. Ulman (Tom Noonan) mentions a full lunar eclipse and explains there is no child, but that Samantha will be watching his mother instead. After exploring the sinister-seeming house, Samantha soon comes to realize that her employers are hiding a horrifying secret and have plans to use her, dead or alive. Exorcist 3 (1990) Police Lt. Kinderman (George C. Scott) notices similarities between his current murder investigation and the methods used by the Gemini killer (Brad Dourif) who was executed 15 years before. He soon discovers a hospitalized mental patient (Jason Miller) claiming to be the dead serial killer, but who looks uncannily like a priest Kinderman knew who died during an exorcism. As more bodies are found, Kinderman looks for connections between the two supposedly dead men. Devil (2010) Five strangers' day begins with an elevator ride in a Philadelphia office tower. But, what happens next is anything but ordinary. The elevator gets stuck, and the trapped passengers, who expected to be together just a few minutes, now face the revelation of their secrets and transgressions. Frightening events turn annoyance into terror, as they begin to realize that one of their number is Lucifer himself.
Hey, Goons! Our second episode of wildcard April month is Lance's pick, Body Parts from 1991 starring Jeff Fahey and Brad Dourif! Be sure if you stream this one, you're watching the correct film--NOT the Troma movie, although, some of you actually may enjoy that one, as well haha. Look at where our tenacity and dedication have gotten us. All the way to episode 100! It is true what they say: if you stick at something long enough in a sequential order, you will eventually reach EPISODE 100. Don't quote me, but I think Mark Maron said that. But what an episode 100 this is. We look at the seminal work of a visionary, David Lynch, who passed away earlier this year. Starring Kyle McLachlan, Isabella Rossellini, Laura Dern, Dean Stockwell, and Dennis Hopper, this is the story about finding an ear and figuring out who it belongs to. And Frank, obviously. Beautiful, disgusting, violent Frank. Little did Laura and Ryan know that we recite Frank's lines more often than not in everyday life, which is probably why people may perceive our relationship as far from golden. But that's your fault; you have no sense of humor. Just shut up and listen to our podcast!
This week we go back to 1978 for the American giallo The Eyes of Laura Mars. Based on a screenplay by John Carpenter and directed by Irvin Kershner, this neo-noir has all the trappings of it's Euro cousins such as red herrings, gloved hands wielding knives and cool atmosphere. Additionally, we have a top-notch cast including Faye Dunaway, Tommy Lee Jones, Raul Julia and Necro-favorite Brad Dourif. Intro: “Necromaniacs” – Mike Hill Outro: “Prisoner” – Barbara Streisand
Crystal joins me as we take a look at Urban Legend. One of the many post-Scream era of slashers. This one has cameos from Robert Englund, Danielle Harris, and Brad Dourif. Is this one actually good or is it another generic nineties slasher? Let's find out!

This month's theme: Horror franchises "In SPACE". As we reminisce about the origins of the Critters franchise, comparing it to its contemporaries like Gremlins and Ghoulies, we also puzzle over this entry's plot, performances, and oddly serious tone. Why is Terrence Mann's character suddenly a jerk? And where the f*ck did all the critters go? Listen as we highlight standout performances from surprising actors like Brad Dourif and Angela Bassett (?!) in this low-budget sequel. Despite its shortcomings, we hope you find this a hilarious and engaging review perfect for fans of horror franchises that go TO SPACE!

We wrap up #FANuary - where listeners chose what we watched across all our social media accounts - with Larry Cohen's 1976 classic GOD TOLD ME TO! Cohen's strange odyssey of a New York police detective whose investigation yields way more than he ever bargained for is truly a genius piece of cinema that only Larry Cohen could have created! Filled with an incredible cast (Academy Award winner Sandy Dennis, Andy Kaufman, Deborah Raffin, Tony Lo Bianco, and Richard Lynch from New World's DEATHSPORT, but, more importantly, BAD DREAMS) that rivals that of 1981's THE FOUR SEASONS, New World took two turns at releasing the film, which led to a fraught relationship between Cohen and New World head honcho Roger Corman., We discuss that along with other pressing questions, such as: how did Marc and Ryan's family feel about the TV show Space: 1999, what role Brad Dourif might have played, and debate whether walking barefoot in an airport is the same as doing so in a city. Don't miss out on our #FANuary finale! Just accept it, no questions! For all the shows in Someone's Favorite Productions Podcast Network, head here: https://www.someonesfavoriteproductions.com/

This week the hosts discuss one of Josh's favorite movies, 1978's The Eyes of Laura Mars. From wiki: “Eyes of Laura Mars is a 1978 American neo-noir supernatural horror[3] thriller film directed by Irvin Kershner and starring Faye Dunaway, Tommy Lee Jones, Brad Dourif, René Auberjonois, and Raul Julia. It follows a New York City fashion photographer (Dunaway) who suddenly develops the clairvoyant ability to witness disturbing serial murders from the point of view of the killer. The screenplay was adapted (in collaboration with David Zelag Goodman) from a spec script titled Eyes, written by John Carpenter; it was Carpenter's first major studio film. H. B. Gilmour later wrote a novelization.”Also discussed: Hawaii, Sasquatch Sunset, Luca Guadagnino's Queer, My Own Private Idaho and the career of Gus Van Sant, American giallo, Jon Peters, Faye Dunaway, Shampoo, Personal Shopper, Blood and Black Lace, The September Issue, capelets and ponchos, Barfly, The Towering Inferno, Puzzle of a Downfall Child, Brian De Palma, NEXT WEEK: Morgiana (1972) Follow them across the internet: Bloodhaus:https://www.bloodhauspod.com/https://www.instagram.com/bloodhauspod/ Drusilla Adeline:https://www.sisterhydedesign.com/https://letterboxd.com/sisterhyde/https://www.instagram.com/sister__hyde/ Joshua Conkelhttps://www.joshuaconkel.com/https://www.instagram.com/joshua_conkel/https://letterboxd.com/JoshuaConkel/https://bsky.app/profile/joshuaconkel.bsky.social

Get your Magic Mind subscription here https://magicmind.com/CRYING20 You get up to 48% off with my code: CRYING20 This week the boys discuss the movie Child's Play and the campy explosion horror Join us on the journey. Trivia • Inspired by a real toy craze: The film was partly inspired by the Cabbage Patch Kids and My Buddy dolls, both highly popular in the 1980s, which caused a toy craze among children. • Original concept: The original version of the script, titled Batteries Not Included, had a more psychological angle. In it, Andy's blood would mix with the doll's latex skin, bringing it to life as a manifestation of Andy's anger. Chucky would act out Andy's suppressed feelings, making the audience question whether Chucky was real or just a figment of Andy's imagination. • Chucky's name: The name “Charles Lee Ray” is a combination of three real-life killers: Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald (JFK's assassin), and James Earl Ray (MLK Jr.'s assassin). • Chucky's voice: Legendary actor Brad Dourif voices Chucky. He also portrayed Charles Lee Ray in the live-action scenes at the beginning. Dourif's performance is a big part of what makes Chucky such an iconic villain. • Multiple puppets used: The filmmakers used a variety of techniques to bring Chucky to life, including puppetry, animatronics, and even a little person in a Chucky suit for certain scenes. It took multiple puppeteers to control the doll's movements. • Banned in some countries: Child's Play was banned in certain countries due to concerns that it would inspire violent behavior in children. The film was controversial in the UK after it was linked to real-life crimes, including the murder of a toddler, although the connection was never proven. • Chucky's look: Chucky's design was deliberately made to look cute at first, so the transformation into a menacing, murderous doll would be even more jarring. • The knife scene: In the original script, Chucky was supposed to stab his victims with a hammer, but it was changed to a knife to make the murders more intense and iconic. • Chucky's transformation: Throughout the movie, Chucky's doll face becomes more human-like as he spends more time as the doll, showing that Ray's soul is becoming more trapped in the body. • Andy's actor: Alex Vincent, who played Andy Barclay, was just six years old during filming. He reprised his role as Andy in Child's Play 2 and later returned to the franchise in Cult of Chucky and Chucky (the TV series). • Real-life voodoo connection: The voodoo elements in the movie were inspired by real-life practices, but they were fictionalized for the sake of the film. The filmmakers consulted with a voodoo priest to get some ideas, though the final result was largely a Hollywood invention. • Influence on pop culture: Chucky became one of the most recognizable horror icons, standing alongside characters like Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers. His humor and personality set him apart from more silent killers of the era. Remember, you can now catch INCYCShow on all Socials or check our Website INCYCSHOW.com YouTube and Pandora. Tune in as Shawn Murphy (Men Who Like Men Who Like Movies Podcast) rejoins the program to review and recap Color of Night, the 1994 erotic thriller that takes us on a wild and atmospheric ride with a color-blind psychiatrist who gets himself caught up in a murder mystery and a steamy affair simultaneously. An intense BTS feud that led to different cuts of this movie being released, drawing inspiration from giallo, the therapy group in the plot acting like a dysfunctional family, and 90s-era queer representation that's both progressive for its time and dated for our contemporary world comprise just a few of the subjects that get coverage in today's episode. Directed by Richard Rush, Color of Night stars Bruce Willis, Jane March, Rubén Blades, Lesley Ann Warren, Scott Bakula, Brad Dourif, Lance Henrikson, Kevin J. O'Connor, Andrew Lowery, Eriq La Salle, Jeff Corey, Kathleen Wilhoite, Shirley Knight, and Erick Avari. Send us a textAs we blast off into our 4th Season here at Fabulous Film and Friends, and with the recent release of Alien Romulus, we thought it only fitting to take a look at ALL the Alien movies, minus the execrable Alien v. Predator films, starting with 1979's Alien directed by Ridley Scott and starring Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Harry Dean Stanton, Yaphett Koto, John Hurt, Veronica Cartright and Ian Holm followed by 1986's Aliens, directed by James Cameron and starring Sigourney Weaver again, joined by Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton, Lance Henrickson, Carrie Ann Henn, William Hope, Jeanette Goldstein, Mark Rolston Al Matthews, and Paul Reiser. Then we get 1992's Alien 3 directed by David Fincer, starring Weaver once again, with Charles S. Dutton, Charles Dance, Ralph Brown, Pete Postelwaite, Brian Glover, Holt MccAllany, Lance Henrickson and a veritable slew of bald British day players yelling, "You bloody wanker!" Then there's 1997's Alien Resurrection directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet starring Ms. Weaver, Winona Ryder, Ron Perlman, Dan Hedaya, Brad Dourif, JE Freeman, Kim Flowers Gary Dourdan, Dominique Pinon and Michael Wincott. Then there's a long break in the actual franchise with the aforementioned cash-grabs Alien v. Predator films thrown in the mix and the series starts up again in earnest with 2012's Ridley Scott directed prequel Prometheus starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall Green, Sean Harris, Rafe Spall, and Guy Pierce. In 2017 we're treated to Alien Covenant, once again directed by Ridley Scott starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Cruddup, Danny McBride, Callie Hernandez, Carmen Ejogo, Guy Pearce, everybody's favorite prankster, Jussie Smollet and blink and you'll miss them cameos by Noomi Rapace and James Franco. Which leads us to 2024's Alien Romulus directed by Fede Alvarez and starring Callie Spaeny, David Jonsson, Isabella Merced, Archie Renaux, Aileen Wu, Spike Fearn and a posthumus Ian Holm. I'm your host Gino Caputi and the guests today are Burton Brown, David Johnson, DMD, Joe Field. With seven movies to cover we're going to get right into it, with one synopsis. Alien movies started off about a crew of space miners serving on the enormous mining vessel the Nostromo who while in cryosleep on their return to Earth with their minerals and ore in tow, are given orders to stop on the planet LV-426 to investigate a distress signal coming from a derelict spacecraft. While investigating the phenomena the crew inadvertently bring an alien on board their vessel. The Alien picks off the crew one by one and it is only warrant officer Ripley who survives by destroying the Nostromo and ultimately shooting the alien out into space. An internet meme sums it up thusly:Alien 1 - A team of miners faces an AlienAliens - A team of marines faces a lot of AliensAlien 3 - A group of convicts faces one AlienAlien Resurrection - A team of pirates face 5 AliensPrometheus - A team of scientists inadvertently create the AlienAlien Covenant - A team of colonists face a a lot of AliensAlien Romulus - A team of babyfaced Gen Z 'ers face a lot of AliensWhich is Queen of the Hive? For our fifty-first episode, podcast emperor Jason Soto (Rabbit Hole Podcasts) joins the show for a discussion of the original Chuck with whom you won't want to f**k: 1988's “Child's Play”, as told through series creator Don Mancini's commentary. Does this franchise deserve to be seven films deep? Just how integral to its success is Brad Dourif? How did they make the leap to television? There's a lot to address and we do our best.Ryan's Recommendations: “Psycho II” (1983), “Fright Night” (1985), and “The Lego Movie” (2014)For exclusive bonus content and early releases of every episode, join our Patreon and become an Official Minder: http://www.patreon.com/onetrackmindpodcastTheme Music by: Bildschirm (bildschirm.bandcamp.com). “This is the goopiest movie of all time!” - Steve On this episode, the Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza heads to space as we chat about the better-than-Andrew-remembered sci-fi sequel, Alien: Resurrection! How fantastic is Sigourney in this one? Shouldn't Brad Dourif's evil scientist have tried to train just one Xenomorph at a time instead of a Baker's Dozen from the jump? Shouldn't we have seen the initial pirate heist of these hyper-sleep people? Why couldn't Christie have just shaken that dead alien off his boot? How great is that basketball shot? And how fabulous are all these gloopy, soupy, alien puppets?! PLUS: The guys come up with another great sci-fi horror pitch for the new film, Werewolf Astronaut! Alien: Resurrection stars Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, Dominique Pinon, Ron Perlman, Gary Dourdan, Michael Wincott, Kim Flowers, J.E. Freeman, Brad Dourif, Raymond Cruz, Leland Orser, and Dan Hedaya as General Perez; directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. This episode is brought to you in part by Factor! In 1989 Tobe Hooper had an idea for a movie that combined the atomic age and the effects it could have on a baby that eventual gave Brad Dourif some unexpected powers. Tobe would go on to direct Spontaneous Combustion that had friend of the show, Brian Bremer, as the unsuspecting parent! Along with this as our main topic we discuss Skybound and Image's Void Rivals and Planet of the apes. On this week's show, we watched 1997's Alien: Resurrection starring Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, Ron Perlman, Brad Dourif, and Raymond Cruz. From director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, this next installment to the Alien franchise features an entirely new version of Ripley, a lot of aliens, interstellar mercenaries, a bumbling military, and some mad scientists. Toss in a dash of pretty solid FX, plot inconstancies, a few chuckles, and cringey dialog, and you've got the makings of a big budget, cult classic. Be sure to let us know what you think of the movie, and the podcast. Thanks and enjoy!
