Sherwin can finally breathe after enduring the Republican National Convention. After everything he saw, including Trump coronation speech, he wants to warn everyone not to get soft on Trump. Apply that pressure!
Get soft to harden your grasp on success! This episode of The Feeling Forwards Podcast provides practical insights on moving from exhaustion to empowerment by adopting soft focus or soft fascination techniques. The host, High Performance coach and Certified Master Neuroplastician Elizabeth Gould explores the neuroscience behind how our brains can only handle about four hours of concentrated effort each day before stress and burnout set in. Instead of relentless hard focus characterized by engaging with technology, loud noises, and human made shapes, Elizabeth reveals the practice of soft focus. Engaging in soft focus helps the brain reset, lowers stress levels, reduces blood pressure, and stimulates dopamine release, leading to renewed motivation, increased mental clarity and high performance. Learn practical tips on incorporating soft focus into daily life, whether at home, in the office, or outdoors. Improve your brain health, increase your focus, and improve your overall quality of life. 00:00 Welcome to The Feeling Forwards Podcast. 00:20 The Power of Soft Fascination 01:23 Understanding Hard Focus and Its Impact 02:31 Embracing Soft Focus for Brain Health 03:22 Practical Tips for Incorporating Soft Fascination 04:02 Wrapping Up and Next Steps

Yo- Today we have on the homies Mike and Charlie and just discuss general recovery stuff and personal opinions. Sorry for the last episodes quality we have dialed in our system to not have to worry about that in the future.
In this episode of Listen to your heart. As it's Men's mental health month Pat is joined by Mac Styles author of the book Sex, Chicken and Coco Butter we talk about an issue that commonly happens in the bedroom. Why men go soft in the bedroom which is a pretty common thing that happens. Mac talked about certain ways to help with the problem. This is a great episode to listen to if you are a male and have this type of problem or know someone who has this problem. Pat also shares some experiences he had in the lifestyle. Plus he goes more in depth of a recent visit he had at a lifestyle community.
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 100 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world's number one podcast on that subject! Episode 100?! Who knew, four years ago, a plucky little softcore show would climb its way up the charts and into people's hearts to become the number one podcast on that subject? Granted, it's basically the same show as back then, but oh what times we've had. To celebrate, Compañeros Radio Network's own Heather and Matt join in on a film about filmmaking: 1974's Alice Goodbody! It's somehow enormously disturbing and wonderfully charming - oh, just like Get Soft! - and most of that charm is down to one very perfect piece of casting in the title role. Also somehow this is the second film in a row we've done with a really horrifying food sex scene, which is maybe a sign of some kind? Hard to say. Anyway, the perfect casting is the always lovely Sharon Kelly, aka Colleen Brennan, and there's no one we'd rather talk about on episode 100's Softcore Spotlight. She did it all: hardcore, softcore, exploitation, sexploitation, called Russ Meyer a “rude, grumpy misogynist” (harsh but fair), and was rarely anything less than an absolute delight to watch. On this episode of Guys Being Dudes Dylan is joined by D and Bryce. They talk about drugs, sweating, the mom that went to school for her daughter, Spongebob, Johnny Tsunami, how Washington D.C should be a state, soft topics, worrying about if your parents approve of your life choices, the Samsung virtual assistant, UFOs, climbing Mount Everest and guys being down to clown. Hello! Welcome to the first episode of Loud Friends with Mike and Zac. In our debut, we inadvertently pay homage to our first podcast and mostly talk about video games. While we promise to cover broader topics in later episodes, we decided to stick with what we know this week and chat about what we've been playing. Mike talks about his time with The Swindle and how his partner starting Hades has deepened his love for the game. Meanwhile Zac reflects on StarCraft 2 ladder anxiety and surviving the beautiful open world of Valheim. We also touch on Sony's State of Play event as well as Nintendo's Pokemon Direct. --- Mike's got a Patreon and YouTube Channel Podcast Art: Photo taken by Olly McDonagh and edited by Becca Hallstedt Music from Uppbeat License code: FHBEMH2JOZYUVZH6

Dr. Snuggles and friends - including MAG alumni and current Heavy Leather Horror Show cast member Squeaky Dave - check out Ed Holzman's 1995 erotic thriller Forbidden Games, and talk about star Jeff Griggs! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 94 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! Turns out there’s a whole lot of erotic thrillers with the word ‘forbidden’ in the title, and somehow we’ve never done any of them. Time to correct that omission by checking out Edward Holzman’s 1995 murder mystery Forbidden Games! We’ve previously seen Ed’s work in Pamela Principle 2, and he’s really got quite the cast with him this time: future soap opera veterans Jeff Griggs and Lesli Kay, future WWE wrestler Amy Weber, the late great Beckie Mullen, and the incomparable Gail Thackray. Gail’s accent veers from southern to British and even a little Australian, as the plot veers from outrageous BDSM murders to gentle horse rides through the Californian countryside to the burden of psychometry. The rest of the plot is a little on the confusing side, even for a movie expert like our guest: Squeaky Dave from Compañeros sister show Heavy Leather Horror Show! Plus, we talk the life and career of the film’s star, Jeff Griggs! Now a silver fox, Griggs ticks a lot of the Get Soft mainstay boxes - not just in terms of soap opera fame, but also appearances in Power Rangers, and 24! He’s more recently been in Bosch, which it turns out Drew Buzzy recommends. Please support our Patreon, if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 81 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! This time, we’re joined by Shannon Tweed superfan Tanner (who runs the StrippedToKill account on Instagram). But never let it be said Get Soft choose the easy roads or obvious films: instead of going for one of her big name projects, we decided to talk about Powerplay, a 1999 erotic thriller slash sort of comedy? Something like that. It is a weird one, either way - after the death of her step father, a ‘90s hot young woman chases down the gold digging black widow who was responsible for his demise. She also brings along her 40-something boyfriend, who has zero charisma, and even less idea of how to track someone down with any kind of subtlety. There’s kickboxing, there’s some serious, serious gore, strange comic relief, a soundtrack that makes at least half the cast of the show cry with laughter, and copious amounts of Shannon Tweed acting evil. Of course, you can’t have a Shannon Tweed superfan on the show without talking about the life and career of the queen of erotic thrillers. We chart the rise and rise of Shannon Tweed from mink farm to Playboy mansion, all the way to reality show superstardom with Gene Simmons. Please support our Patreon, if you can! Come Join FOR THE STORY as we discuss one of our favorite movies we've watched in quite some time. We had to wade through about 30 found footage exorcism films to get there, though. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a 1975 American comedy-drama film directed by Miloš Forman, based on the 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey. The film stars Jack Nicholson as Randle McMurphy, a new patient at a mental institution, and features a supporting cast of Louise Fletcher, William Redfield, Will Sampson, Sydney Lassick, Brad Dourif, Danny DeVito and Christopher Lloyd in his film debut. Check out Get Soft with Dr. Snuggles! I gather here for the sixth ever episode of Season 1 with Alistair Wallis, the host and creator of the podcast Get Soft with Dr Snuggles (a favorite of ours and other podcasts like They Must Be Destroyed on Sight). We discuss the unusually edgy and pre-streaming binge watching shows that have stood the test of time while also remarking about the appeal of sneaking in unusual after-hours programming. And in this experiment, we find entertaining stuff that is beyond calming for one’s soul. #JackedUpReviewShow #Skinemax #LateNightTV #SoftcorePorn #HardcorePorn #CindyLucas #FredOlenRay #AndrewStevens #GettSoftWithDrSnuggles #AlistairWallis #TheX-Files #XFilesTVShow #TheTruthIsOutThere #24TVShow #TwentyFourTVShow #CultTV #CultMovies #SoBadItsGood #XFiles #ScienceFiction #TVAddictions #TVAddicts #PremiumChannels #AustralianTV #Streaming #Netflix #StraightToVideo #DTV #DVDMovies #RareCinema #TwinPeaks #RickAndMorty #SamuraiCop #Cliffhanger #TwilightZone #SupernaturalTV #Riverdale #Mulder #GillianAnderson #DavidDuchovny #Scully #VideogameSpinOffs #Merchandise #Disney #AlistairWallis #AmazonPrime #Podcasting #BootlegTVShows #StreamingTV #VHSTapes #UnofficialRecordings #TheWireTVShow #Skinemax #EroticMovies #Softcore #SoftcoreErotica #Cinemax #HBO #Showtime VHSRip #LateNightTVViewing #SoftcorePorn #EroticThrillers #DavidSimon #HowardGordon #ChrisCarter #JoelSurnow #BobCochran #Cliffhangers #DarkComedy #FringeTVShow #Horror #Satire #SciFi #ScienceFiction #GuestStar #CelebrityCameos #Hellraiser #StarTrek #RobertPatrick #AnnabethGish #Magicians #Egyptian #Folklore #SlowMotion #ATeam #WayneBradyShow #WalkerTexasRanger #ChuckNorris #WilliamBDavis #CigaretteSmokingMan #Continuum #CanadianTVShows #Stargate #StargateSG1 #Experimental #CornerGas #SketchShow #SkitShow #Millennials #FriendsTVShow #NickAtNite #GoodTimes #BarneyMiller #BobNewhart #Letterman #DavidLetterman #GrahamNorton #ShannonTweed #AwfulCommercials #TVProgramming #JackRyanTVShow #ModernLove #JackRyan #TomClancy #MacGyver #AmazonPrime #WiseguyTVShow #WendellPierce #AlbinoBlackSheep #Llamas #AfterDark #JohnnyBravo #CartoonNetwork #BootlegCable #AntonioBanderas #TieMeUpTieMeDown #TvGuide #MST3k #MysteryScienceTheater #FiveStar #OneStar #Reviews #VideoTuner #DigitalVideoRecorder #DVR #ComedyCentral #TheBossWife #RRatedComedy #CNN #The90sDocumentarySeries #UnratedDVD #ExtendedCut #CollectorsItem #Vestron #BMovies #JoeEstevez #HomeVideoTrailer #DonSwayze #JoeyTravolta #Quality #Nepotism #HollywoodSiblings #PMEntertainmentGroup #TNT #CableTV #BasicInstinct #SexComedy #ReneeEstevez #ViceAcademy #RickSloane #PoliceAcademy #JuliaParton #RRated #AdultProgramming #MichelleMaylene #PlayboyTV #NaughtyAmerica #Vivid #MTV #VH1 #ExtremeMakeover #AdultsOnly #BluRay #Hobgoblins @SamuraiCop #MattHannon #Elvira #JoeBobBriggs #AntennaChannel #NameCalling #Comedians #Suffering #50ShadesOfGray #ZalmanKing #Hardcore #RedShoeDiaries #Sleazy #Cheesy #Gremlins #Critters #LeonardMaltin #MarkedForMurder #Podcast #WorstMoviesOfAllTime #Nikita #LaFemmeNikita #TheActionElite #BruceWillis #DolphLundgren #ActionTV #ActionTVShows #BlindspotTVShow #NSFW #UncutGore #ViolentTVShows #DieHard #BourneIdentity #FullMoonEntertainment #CharlesBand #Puppetmaster #JackBauer #Memento #TheBlacklistTVShow #SullivanStapleton #TheBachelor #SurvivorTVShow #JerrySpringer #CheatersTVShow #Dexter #JimWynorski #BreakingBad #FredOlenRay #AndrewStevens #RealityShows #AncientAliens #FugitiveHunter #RogerCorman #DavidDeCoteau #GregSestero #TheDisasterArtist #Embarrassing #VideoStoreRentals #Blockbuster #Cyborg #Nemesis #AlbertPyun #OlivierGruner #StevenSeagal #KevinSorbo #Republican #Conservative #Australia #Conventions #Andromeda #GeneRoddenberry #GaryGraver #OrsonWelles #Betamax #Cinematographer #Cinematography
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 69 (nice) of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! As the world’s number one softcore movie podcast, we kind of had to serve up something special for episode 69, so we’re not only taking at look at gold digging 2009 comedy Cougar School, but talking to one of the film’s stars too: the great Brandon Ruckdashel! Brandon is probably best known as one of the stars of the softcore TV series Co-Ed Confidential - he played Zach in seasons 3 and 4. In fact, he plays a character named Zach in Cougar School too, and many of his Co-Ed Confidential co-stars show up as well - including legends like Michelle Maylene and Randy Spears. Turns out the movie was initially meant to be a cinematic spin-off from the TV show, until one of the rights holders gave that idea the thumbs down. Nonetheless, Brandon confirms that he considers it a canonical part of the Co-Ed Confidential Cinematic Universe. That’s a Get Soft exclusive you can take to the bank! Naturally, as well as getting the low-down from Brandon on what it was like working in softcore between 2009 and 2015, we also talk with him about the rest of his life and career! Together they all take a one-way trip on the Devil's train as they talk about "Beyond the Door III" (AKA: "Amok Train") (1989). Italian rip-off films and the state of Italian genre films in the late 1980s; Bo Svenson as a satanist; creepy Eastern Europeans; strange virginity tests; Disney+; and boobies and gore on 1990s A&E; "Commando 2" & "Tango & Cash 2"; are just a few of the topics brought up in this conversation. Also, as Matt is making his first appearance on the show, he gets to play the MOVIE GOD GAME; listener comment are responded to; and the hosts all talk about what they've watched lately. Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 62 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! Vampire-mania continues at Get Soft, which actually seems appropriate now that we’re into October. Last episode, we looked at Kelley Cauthen’s 1999 erotic horror Embrace the Darkness. This episode, it’s Robert Kubilos’ 2002 sequel, Embrace the Darkness II! You can probably guess what we’re doing on episode 63. None of the original cast return for this sequel - in fact, the story only sort of lines up with what happened in the first one. But, it’s written by the incomparable duo of Ed Gorsuch and April White, and it swaps gothic warehouse loft chic for sci-fi sex rooms, goth clubs and Matrix-inspired fashion. Not to spoil our feelings on the matter, but these things are very hard to resist for much of the cast, with the exception of our guest Jimmy Ether, who is frankly as hard to please as he is easy to love. Softcore Spotlight-wise, we look at Catalina Larrañaga, who plays the vampire Lizzie. She had a short but impactful career in softcore, starring in stuff like Corporate Fantasy - which she also co-wrote! - and Loveblind. But she stopped acting in 2006, and became a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, and a Master Herbalist. None of those are real things, but it hasn’t stopped her from having a very successful career as Kitty Martone, the Healthy Gut Girl, battling leaky gut syndrome (also not a real thing) and vaccine-induced autism (definitely not a real thing). So, uh, our general veneer of congenial and encouraging politeness slips briefly on this one, shall we say. Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 60 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! Sometimes, when we do slightly odder fare on the show, we like to start recording a little later, have a few drinks and get a bit loose. We’ve done a few like that before (New York Nights, The Naked Detective, Tina and the Professor). Joined by drunkcasting hero Matt, from our sister podcasts Songs on Trial and Movie Melt, we decided to do it again this episode, because Peter Kay’s 1987 British sort-of-comedy breast-fetishising shot-on-video epic Miss-Adventures at Mega Boob Manor (aka Action Video Presents Mega Manor) is certainly one of the odder movies we’ve done. Something happened though, and the next thing we knew our other guest Tim had left and it was 7 and a half hours later, and we were unbelievably drunk. To top it off, then we had audio issues with the last half hour of the show, so we had to re-record that. The result is almost 4 hours of Get Soft, which is a ridiculous runtime for a podcast. It’s either our best episode or our worst - at this point we have no ability to know, but please give us a call and tell us. The Softcore Spotlight focuses on Stacey Owen, one of only three actors credited in the film. Owen was a Scottish model who’d recently won (or come second in, depends on the source) 1986 Miss Wet T-Shirt World Competition, and was in her first film with Miss-Adventures at Mega Boob Manor, and was on the verge of superstardom. Though she only modelled between 1986 (maybe 1985, depends on the source) and 1991, she’s still remembered very fondly by Brits and Scots of a certain age. We go through her story, aided by clips from the ‘documentary’ The Stacey Owen Story! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 59 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! Well, here it is. The big finale. This is how it all ends! We’re done, and there’s no more. No more Hot Springs Hotel, that is - not Get Soft. Still, as we check out the last three episodes (Layout, Girls in the Band, and Fantasy) of everyone’s favourite softcore sitcom from 1997, it feels like we’ve really come to the end of quite a journey. We’ve grown to more or less love the characters, the actors, and even the creators of this weird little footnote in softcore history. Honestly, we get a little misty eyed this episode, but who can blame us? Bye Randy. Bye Kat. So long Lacey, Theo, Minnie, Vicky, Donna, and the rest of the staff! We also sort of take things full circle, by looking at the life and career of the first actor we saw on the series - the woman who delivered that fateful telegram, Deanna Merryman! She played a bunch of other characters on the show too, often changing character names from episode to episode, as we discover in these last three. And she also made national news twice: once in 1992, and again in 2002! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 57 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! Drew has declared it Dan Golden and Maria Ford month, and who are we to argue with Drew now that he’s been promoted? The next two episodes are films directed by Dan Golden, starring his regular collaborator Maria Ford (and also both star his other regular collaborator, Rick Dean, as it happens). The first is Golden’s 1994 country music and murder softcore romance Saturday Night Special, and Get Soft’s regular collaborator, Jaymz from the NBA Straya podcast, comes along for the ride! Ford and Dean are joined in the movie by country/rockabilly superstar Billy Burnette in his first acting role, and also briefly joined by ol’ crazy eyes, Mick Fleetwood. So that’s unexpected. And, even though it’s Dan Golden and Maria Ford month, we’re actually turning the Softcore Spotlight on some of the male leads for this episode and the next one. There’s plenty of time to get to Golden and Ford later, but when else will we get to talk about Billy Burnette? Never, that’s when! So we talk about his life and career in both music and film. He was in Fleetwood Mac in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, you know. Also, he started his singing career when he was just seven years old! We sample a bunch of hits from throughout his career (and maybe one or two misses, to be honest - sorry Billy). Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 55 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! How else could we follow last episode’s look at Paul Thomas’ 1992 erotic drama The Pamela Principle but with a look at Edward Holzman’s 1994 sequel Seduce Me: Pamela Principle 2? It’s the only thing that would make sense, although sequel is probably not the right term for it, really - it’s more a reboot, to use the modern parlance. It takes the general plot of the first movie - guy having middle-life crisis has affair with younger woman named Pamela - and tries to improve the execution. Weirdly, it even has cameos from the guy who played the best friend in the first movie, and the guy who was Pamela’s ex-boyfriend. And, if that’s not enough excitement, Drew gets a promotion, and we’re joined by Heather from Songs on Trial and Movie Melt, and also our good friend Paul C. Miller, director of Get Soft favourite Maximum Thrust! His call drops out mere seconds from the end of the show. Also the show is over three hours this week for some reason that I really can’t work out. Sorry or not sorry, depending on whether ridiculously long podcasts are your thing. Plus, we look at the life and career of the writer of Pamela Principle 2, Gerard Maguire! Maguire only has a few writing credits, but he’s probably very well known to Australians as an actor - he was Deputy Governor Jim Fletcher in Prisoner (aka Prisoner: Cell Block H), and he’s also done around 40 years worth of voice over work. We got the chance to chat to him, amazingly, and were almost certainly the first people to ever ask him about being on The Bradys, and definitely the first to ask about Pamela Principle 2. You know what’s crazy? That we somehow got to the PS1 without a home console Fantastic Four game. You’ve got one of the most iconic groups in the Marvel Universe, a group that pretty much defines what it means to be Marvel, and it takes this long to get a game made? It’s pretty bad if you ask me.Come listen in as Alistair Wallis from Get Soft with Dr. Snuggles comes by the show to talk Fantastic Four and this game that clearly suffers from a thing known as “being an early 3D game.” But does that make it bad?Learn such things as: How many people does Marvel think 4 is? What story line, if any, are we introduced to here? Aren’t Fantastic Four podcasts contractually obligated to have an Air Wolf reference? Or is that just Fantasticast? And much more! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 51 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! This episode, we look at 1995’s Tina and the Professor. This might be the most obscure film we’ve done. It is almost definitely the weirdest film we’ve done. It’s, effectively, a softcore vanity project: written by, directed by, produced by, and stars a jovial, middle aged, eye-patch wearing maniac named Stan Haze. As the title suggests, it’s about a young woman named Tina (played by Roxanne Blaze, who took the porn world by storm in 1993 then left for more mainstream fare, but actually ended up in this), who falls for her college animal husbandry professor, who is a jovial, middle aged, eye-patch wearing maniac named Gorman Lenox (played by Stan Haze). It is also about Tina fantasising about her roommate, and hunky quarterback Dylan, and kind of also a gross drug dealer named Drexel, but also a little bit about Tina taking a very extreme and disturbing kind of revenge on a girl who tips a Slurpee on her head, and also a lot about the different types of dairy cows and beef cattle and horses and the various diseases each are susceptible to. We were joined by Matt from Compañeros Radio Network sister shows Movie Melt and Songs on Trial, and also our good bud Avery from For the Story. We got quite drunk recording this one, because we had to. It’s that kind of movie. You’ll understand. Naturally, we looked at the life and times of Stan Haze. You (very likely) have never heard of Stan Haze, but he had roles in House Party, Alligator, Don't Answer the Phone!, and also episodes of Sanford and Son, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hill Street Blues, and more. But of course we don’t stop there! We went to a special source, who worked with him on an unreleased movie he made after Tina and the Professor called The Magnificent Seven Biker Babes: legendary actress and one of the loveliest people ever to work in film, Honey Lauren! She gave us the inside scoop on Stan, his work methods, his skills as a director, his skills as a financial manager, his horse and llama ranch, and even why he was wearing an eye-patch by the ‘90s! Thanks Honey! This is the real deal. Maybe our most unmissable episode ever! You’ll find out more about Tina and the Professor and Stan Haze on this episode of Get Soft than anywhere else - that’s our guarantee to you! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 49 of your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! A while back, we realised we missed watching one of the genre’s all time greats work, so we dug up another Robert Donavan classic: 2001’s Private Call, aka Deviant Desires! Donavan plays Max Diamond, the by-the-books partner to Detective Shane Miller (Miyoko Fujimori, aka Flower), a cop who just can’t let the murder of a sex worker named Jennifer go, and gets suspended for it. But even then she continues investigating, going undercover at a mysterious club named Private Call! It’s an all-star affair: the prolific Brad Bartram is there too, it’s directed by legendary hardcore star/producer/director Melissa Monet, and it’s written by The Power Couple of ‘90s and 2000s softcore, Ed Gorsuch and April White! But does it live up to the hype? Plus, we talk about the life and career of the great Miyoko Fujimori! She’s done it all: real estate agent, stripper, model actor, author, sex toy designer, pole fitness and AcroYoga instructor, and intimacy choreographer! Also, with a little luck, future guest on an episode of Get Soft! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669! Check out the other Compañeros Radio Network shows: Movie Melt Songs on Trial
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 45 of Get Soft, your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! It's the finale of Get Soft’s Bikini Summer Summer, as we take on 1997’s Bikini Summer III: South Beach Heat! This time the action moves from LA across to Miami, and the plot goes from oddly ambitious in the last one to what might charitably be described as threadbare. Jamie, a makeup artist for a bikini contest, ends up competing, even though she insists she’s more interested in painting than posing and doesn’t have the body for it anyway. Given Jamie is played by actual former bikini model Heather Elizabeth Parkhurst, you can probably guess where it’s going. What you might not have seen coming is the scummy undercurrent of homophobia (through what is honestly a very offensive caricature) and uncomfortable sexism (although probably the sexism might be sort of expected, who knows). It’s a weird one, but if you start watching a series you simply cannot not watch every film. It’s the law. Also, everyone’s favourite, Jim Ether joins us, and for some reason this episode is 2 and a half hours long. It’s not entirely clear why. And, we look at the life and career of star and associate producer Heather Elizabeth Parkhurst! She was in Sherman Oaks, she was a member of the Swedish Bikini Team, and she had guest spots on a bunch of TV shows ranging from fondly remembered (Married...with Children, Get a Life, The George Carlin Show) to barely remembered (Top of the Heap, Rachel Gunn R.N., That Was Then). Also she was the titular Lisa in the video for Pauly Shore’s hit (?) single Lisa Lisa in 1991. We listen to it. It’s worse than you remember. Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 2GO-GO69 or (724) 246-4669!
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 44 of Get Soft, your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! Get Soft’s Bikini Summer Summer continues, with the second film in the series, which is very reasonably titled Bikini Summer II. Does it follow on from the first Bikini Summer in any way? No it does not, but it is based on a story by and directed by the one and only Jeff Conaway! This is his one and only directorial effort, and it is also spellbindingly weird. It’s all about a homeless troubadour played by Robert Miano, who teaches a couple of rich girls about the important things in life: friendship and selflessness. So it’s kind of a heartwarming anti-capitalist tale, but also there’s weird sketch comedy moments, and also numerous comedy BDSM moments, and a lot of singing and a rock concert at the end. Where do the bikinis fit in? They kind of don’t. It confused the heck out of everyone, that’s for dang sure. Of course, we talk about the life and times of the legend himself, Jeff Conaway. We talk a lot about Jeff Conaway, but there’s a lot to say about him, so that makes sense. We talk about the big hits, the not so big hits, the leaner years in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, and we talk about his numerous musical projects, most of which are truly awesome. He had a single in 1979 that you have to check out: it’s called City Boy and it’s a straight up killer jam. Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 2GO-GO69 or (724) 246-4669!
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 43 of Get Soft, your guide to the truly astonishing world of softcore films, and the world’s number one podcast on that subject! For various reasons, we inadvertently took a month and a half break, but never fear - we’re back, and we’re going straight into a hugely innovative series of special episodes! So here’s the deal: it’s summer down under, and we’re going to do the three movies in the Bikini Summer series! Incredible, right? Right. This time we’re joined by a bunch of antipodean special guests (including Jaymz from NBA 'Straya podcast, and Josh from the band Househats), and we check out where it all began, back in 1991, with the first film in the series. David Millbern (from Midnight Confessions!) is there, and so is Hollywood body double superstar Shelley Michelle, and also porn star Missy Warner, who seems to turn up in a lot of these films. In this entry, some friends have to try and save a beach from greedy developers by staging a bikini contest. And...that’s kind of it, really. Also, we check out the life and times of Katherine Victor, who is in the film for literally a minute, so that proved kind of a controversial choice. She has a long and storied career though - working repeatedly with Jerry Warren against her better judgement, most notable in The Wild World of Batwoman, but also as an animation continuity checker, with legends like Friz Freleng, Ralph Bakshi and Don Bluth, and on that one Chipmunks movie where they raced the Chipettes around the world in hot air balloons. You know the one. Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 2GO-GO69 or (724) 246-4669!
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 42 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! Way back in episode 11, we did Ernest G. Sauer’s New York Nights, which we loved, because it was fun and sweet. So this time, 31 episodes later, we’re doing another of his films: The Naked Detective! Coincidentally, also way back in episode 11 we got absolutely tanked before recording. This again sort of repeated this episode, except it happened more as the episode went on, so that’s something. Anyway, the movie’s a satirical, sex-filled, detective romp, with a surprisingly well thought out mystery: the whole cast (which this time includes Matt from Compañeros and also Ash from For the Story) guessed the culprit prior to the big reveal, but still! As a bonus, Get Soft’s Official Favourite Actress of All Time Julia Parton is in it. She is just the best, isn’t she? Plus, we look at the life and times of one of the film’s other stars, the great Taylor St. Claire. She started in magazines and softcore films, then moved into hardcore, and now she films and sells short videos like Your Giant Inflated Escort and other super niche fetish targeting stuff. It’s probably crazy lucrative! Where else are you going to find content like This Was Not The Plan Ass Expansion, or Hourglass Juicy Filled Hourglass Giant Ass And A Leprechaun, or POV: If Your Cock Grows Big and Hard I Will Grow One For You? Nowhere, that's for dang sure! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 2GO-GO69 or (724) 246-4669!
Jake and Darren talk about The Meg (with spoilers), Mission: Impossible - Fallout (without spoilers), Borg vs McEnroe (without spoilers, even though it's history). They also chat about donuts again, a potential crime that Jake witnessed, people who use their cell phones inside movie theaters, and gripe about Moviepass.
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 26 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! This episode, we head back to 1965, for proto-softcore sexploitation potboiler Scream of the Butterfly! It's half energetic far-out melodrama, and half static law office drama - quite literally, in the sense that both parts are written and directed by separate teams and share no actors. So that's frankly unusual. Also it turns out the film as a whole is weirdly divisive amongst the cast of Get Soft, and probably not in the way you'd expect! Plus, we talk about the life and times of both Eber and Nélida Lobato, the director and star of the film! Director and star of the better half, that is. They were dancers from Argentina, who made it sort of big in the US, then went to Paris and made it pretty big, and then went back to Argentina, and became superstars! You will find out more about them on this episode than any other English language source, promise! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 2GO-GO69 or (724) 246-4669!
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 24 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! We've been talking about it for quite a while, and now finally, the gang are joined by special guest Ash from very popular podcast Hey Brother Can You Spare A Dime, You Know I Got A Jonesin' For Porno But Only 'Cause I Like The Stories (better known as [For the Story](https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/avery-mitchell/for-the-story))! They're sort of like Get Soft, but with hardcore. We check out the sci-fi new-age weirdness of 1996's Alien Abduction: Intimate Secrets. Three women go...somewhere in Europe. Their car breaks down. What happens next will astonish you! But honestly it won't if you've read the title (they get abducted by an alien). Plus, we talk about the life and times of one of the film's stars, Pia Reyes! She was a champion lacrosse player, appeared in music videos, became a Playboy Playmate, had a career in b-movies, and...well, this time what happens next genuinely will astonish you! It's a truly bananas story. Also, somehow these shows keep going over 2 hours lately? That's puzzling. Hey, why not call us on our new hotline and tell us what you think about that? (724) 2GO-GO69 or (724) 246-4669! Or just tell us some things about your cats or something. Either is good with us.
Shadoe sits in for Valentine’s Day as we discuss sex, strap ons, kinks, dick dykes, and a million other things. The question of “why do lesbians use strap-ons, as opposed to just taking dick?” gets addressed. Our Light Skin producer stirs the pot. Pointlesss is excited, the JMMB head office in Kingston has a gender neutral bathroom!
Joe is still in Los Angeles and Kurt is still Montreal, after a brief reuniting during Thanksgiving the guys are back to their pen pal ways. Thus starts a new series of letters to each other.
Dr. Snuggles and friends return for episode 16 of our spin-off show about the weird world of softcore skin-flicks! And this is the big one! This episode, we look at the sixth episode of the Emmanuelle Through Time series, Adventures into the Woods: A Sexy Musical, aka Emmanuelle in Wonderland, aka Emmanuelle's Sex Tales. And who better to talk about the movie with than writer and director Rolfe Kanefsky?! Yes, superstar director Rolfe Kanefsky joins us for an epic three hour episode of Get Soft, in which we chat about his career as both a writer and director, talk about how you manage to make seven films in just 54 days, and also find out what it's actually like working with the inimitable Robert Donavan. Spoiler: it's so awesome that Rolfe literally cannot stop doing it. All that and much, much more! This really is the big one!
Joe's exiting his psychological funk thanks to modern medicine, and just in time for the barbeque he and Kurt are attending as ADULT FRIENDS! Savor this episode, listeners, because Joe and Kurt are returning to pen pal status through January.
Kurt pens his audio letter from a frozen, Canadian alleyway, while Joe defends his steak-eating dog from a hotel in Ft. Worth, TX. They are both jealous of each other's new friends.
It's the second installment of Joe and Kurt's audio letters. Kurt ruins his chances of receiving free records once again, and Joe namedrops with the subtlety of a hand grenade.
True adult friendship knows no distance. That's why Joe and Kurt are sending audio letters to each other while they're apart.
LIVE from Scoopfest in Las Vegas, Joe and Kurt go deep with the founders of Scoopfest, Matt and Paul.
We've got one guest this episode - a first for Emotional Hangs! Lauren Cook, Kurt's wife and Joe's friend, joins the boys to chat about the platonic ménage à trois that is their adult friendship.
Kurt's over the whole approachability thing, and Joe gets free vinyl from a fan. Then, the guys talk grief, holidays without loved ones, and the most aggrivating moment to offer someone a frozen yogurt.
It's soft, it's emotional, it's a special crossover episode with Mike Tully of the Tully Show and his adult friend Craig Williams.
In this episode, it's just the boys. As per usual, they reflect and ponder, but they have to know - is Kurt approachable? He asked, the listeners answered. Comedians and friends Nikki Glaser and Lizzy Cooperman stop by the studio in this emotional hang to reflect on the stuff that matters, ie the politics between drivers and bikers, deviously reading your roommate's diary, and fat, drunk fun in St. Louis. Don't fret, there's still time left for airing it out.
This episode is less about the listeners' questions and more about their apparent devotion to Joe. But they get to the questions eventually. The guys discuss polyamorous relationships, cryptic emails from old lovers, and, of course, alcohol.
In this episode, child stars turned grown adults Danny and Mike (from The Adventures of Pete and Pete) answer questions like: What happens when a childhood friendship blossoms into an adult friendship? What the hell is a unicorn kiss? And is it too soon for Nancy Kerrigan jokes? Don’t worry, Joe and Kurt have plenty to air out, too.
Kurt and Joe wonder if their listeners like their bullshit or if they prefer to hear from guests every once in awhile (listeners, feel free to chime in). Joe’s back with a wooden clog-full of Amsterdam experiences. So tune in, but don’t give any advice - Joe’s just looking for a listening ear.
Tip from Kurt - if you ever find yourself in a situation where Joe DeRosa is the good cop to your bad cop, you’re on the wrong side of the issue. First rule of this (archive) episode? Talk about Fight Club. Joe's been painting like a clown, Kurt explains why he almost Irish-goodbyes from hangs, and the guys finally address the thing everyone is talking about: The First Annual LA River Tubing Expedition.
Kurt’s meditating in Alaska somewhere, so Joe gets extra soft alone. Buckle up and relax, it’s time for a rerun of a classic: Emotional Hangs Episode 3.
Joe and Kurt wonder if they should quit talking about friendship so much. So they talk about viral Eminem remixes, movies with talking animals, and depression instead.
One from the archives! The very first Emotional Hangs -- like Huey Lewis and the News, we’re goin’ back in time!
How much ball-busting is too much ball-busting? Joe and Kurt may never know. Tune in to hear reflections on Joe’s drug-induced Tuesday night, twitter beef, and other emotional musings.
Jake and Matt are here in custom shirts they made for each other, and we haven’t even gotten into the emotional stuff. By the way, who’s your dad’s dealer?
Joe and Kurt sift through your questions again, which inevitably leads to a discussion on politics and who’s a good person. If only dinner parties had conversations like this instead of the ones where you have to listen to someone talk about their homemade jewelry business.
Joe and Kurt are a little worried about themselves, but enough about them, this episode is about YOU and your questions! They talk being single at bars, equality, and a complete apocalyptic reset.
So, you hug your dad? What exactly is the proper paternal send-off to ‘nam?
Joe and Kurt analyze why the good die young, which electronic instruments are dorkiest (the key-tar), and whether there’s an afterlife. Join them as they sift through Joe's 23andme results and get soft with lineage and identity.
Just so you know, we’re doing a live podcast from Houston this fall... Guests Erin and Robyn discuss their humble beginnings in church youth group, their enthusiasm for themed shindigs, and those forgotten first impressions.
What do you call a communication issue that lasts for 20 years? A relationship with your parents. This episode is all about forgiveness.
We’re going back through the vaults, way back, to dust off our emotional hang with Karen and Georgia. Let us examine the delicate flower that is adult friendship by burping, reliving uncomfortable Thanksgiving parties, and, of course, talking murder.
This week’s apology goes to Nick Offerman. Then, let’s talk hating ourselves, meditation, and the permissible stalking of potential friends.
What happened to waiting in line for album releases? Joe and Kurt research their past through 23andme.com. Don’t you hate it when people won’t talk shit with you?
Forced friendships are the worst, but should we sever them? What happens when friendships turn romantic?
Is siblinghood like marriage? Randy and Jason discuss what it’s like to be a package deal in the public eye.
What’s the nicest gift you’ve ever given to a non-relative? How do you break up with someone you’re not dating?
Real friends pee on each other when they’re mad, Dino and Andy talk college memories, sobriety, and fatherhood.
Let’s talk about Nick Offerman’s pussy hat, grieving mothers, and abandonment issues.
Together we face grief, what makes us genuinely sad, self-defense, and what it means to be someone’s “boy” on this week’s episode.
This week we chat about how Emotional Hangs got it's name, the process of considering getting therapy, Kurt's dating history and feelings about soon-to-be-fatherhood, and surviving small talk.
Growth, reaching out to an old friend (Ali Wong), has Kurt found a therapist?, Randy and Brendon are old friends (is nine years old?), how did they meet, when have they crossed the line with each other, what did they do before working at @Midnight - MATT
