Hosts David and Kyle explore the aftermath of Ron's poisoning, which includes a visit from the Weasley family, a hint at a Ron/Hermione reconciliation and terribly played quidditch. Plus, the hosts are on point when it comes to giving Madam Pomfrey her due credit for a killer line this chapter.
Harry is back at The Burrow and there is a surprise guest joining them this summer. Hosts David and Kyle discuss Harry's return to the Weasleys and their first impressions of how the main characters treat this new guest. Also, the hosts discuss that while the Ron/Hermione romance might come out of left field for many readers, a lot of off-page development occurs during chapters like this one.
Julie returns to discuss a chapter full of teen drama! We talk about Harry's many challenges as captain of the quidditch team, his emotional confusion surrounding Ginny, and his navigation of the growing divide between Ron & Hermione. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hogwarts-a-podcast/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/hogwarts-a-podcast/support

Potter Revisited Episode #45 Teatime With Lupin AKA Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Chapter 8 "The Flight of the Fat Lady" Everyone loves Lupin and DADA and we do too! Lupin seems like a great teacher Of Course the only ones that don't like Lupin are Malfoy & Co - is it only because he is obviously poor? Snape, meanwhile is still taking out his feelings about Lupin on the students, especially Neville - +1 Snape Sucks Shay thinks she would be like Parvarti and Lavender and visiting Trelawney at Lunch Harry really doesn't like Divination this early on - why doesn't he drop it and take something else? Oliver gives a Rudy-style pep talk to the team - it's his last chance to win the Quidditch cup before he graduates Ron mentions Scabbers is in his bag, and then Crookshanks attacks - the whole chance scene is very amusing to picture Is Ron more mad at Hermione because of Crookshanks or that she won't take him seriously? Is Hermione a good pet owner? Why isn't she controlling Crookshanks more? The Trio see Lavender crying before class - she just got news her bunny died. She believes the prediction Trelawney made is real since it's the 16th of October Hermione tries to disprove the prediction could be real with logic, ignoring the fact that Lavender's pet is dead - why does Hermione always do this? Shay points out this could be the beginning of Lavender's crush on Ron, as he tells off Hermione in front of her. Tori, a Ron/Hermione shipper, isn't sure Ron convinces Harry to ask McGonagall for permission to go to Hogsmede - and she obviously says no since it's against the rules Dean had offered to forge Vernon's signature - why didn't Harry do this before going to McGonagall? Tori tells a story about the time she forged her Mom's signature in Grade 4 to avoid missing recess Shay wonders if they keep the parents signature on file and would be able to detect a forgery by magic Harry is missing out on Hogsmede and we feel bad - Percy does a terrible job at trying to cheer him up Lupin sees Harry walking around alone & invites him in for tea - we would love to have tea with Lupin! Harry figures out why Lupin stopped him from confronting the Dementor - he thought it would be Voldemort Snape comes to bring Lupin a potion - we discuss him seeing Lupin and Harry together in the office and imagining Lupin and James Shay discusses the way Lupin speaks about Snape to Harry, which is very complimentary. Harry trying to convince Lupin that Snape is bad and likely poisoned the potion is funny, considering Lupin and Snape grew up together at school How Ron and Hermione describe Hogsmede to Harry very much shows their interest - The first thing Hermione brings up is the post office and how it is organized by a colour coded system, and Ron brings up Honeydukes and all the sweets This is our first time fully seeing a Hogwarts Halloween feast as events have always prevented it - The Ghosts provide entertainment with Synchronized gliding and Nick reenacts his death - were Ghosts always the entertainment or is this new? We discuss the twist ending - The Fat Lady has fled her frame, which has been slashed up. Sirius Black tried to break into Gryffindor tower How did Dumbledore appear on the scene so fast? Shay wonders why Lupin didn't do anything - didn't say anything to Dumbledore regarding Sirius It's interesting how Peeves speaks to Dumbledore compared to other professors Snape Sucks total for Chapter 8: 1 Email any thoughts, questions or feedback to potterrevisitedpodcast@gmail.com Fill our our Listener Survey here: https://forms.gle/QFEJNAEtQdzXLSBC7 Music: Shelter Song by Alexander Nakarada (www.serpentsoundstudios.com) Licensed under Creative Commons BY Attribution 4.0 License https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow Us: Facebook https://www.facebook.com/potterrevisited Twitter https://twitter.com/potterevisited Instagram https://www.instagram.com/potterrevisited_/ Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4v2Xt0OIQ8_LCVYhKf2S5A TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@potterrevisited

"You'll stay with me?" asked Harry. "Until the very end," said James. The time has come to close out the inaugural season of Chase & Josh: Fact or Fantasy and what a ride it has been. This amazing journey began by opening up our show with the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie rankings, to jumping into space taking part in the Star Wars, then spinning off to the Outer Rim with Mando, to tossing a coin to our Witcher in the valley of plenty, followed by surviving The Long Night #ForTheThrone, to heading out west while questioning the nature of our reality with our favorite lifelike hosts, and finally wrapping up this wild first season by attending Hogwarts, learning some magic and saving the Wizarding World with Harry, Ron & Hermione. The Riddikulus Crew wanted to conclude Season 1 by doing something special and delivering a fan-favorite rankings episode, which would bring everything full circle (something we are quite fond of here at Fact or Fantasy) finishing exactly how we started or "opening at the close". In this episode, Chase & Josh put together 10 categorized rankings and defend their selections in this can't miss season finale! So follow along one last time for this season and see what you agree or disagree with as we bring this epic Harry Potter arc to an end in style. Thank you so much for being the shields that guard the realms of fantasy, for all the support and loyalty, for bringing this from an unknown fun hobby to a globally ranked podcast, and most importantly, thank you for making us a part of your life with the time you've spent listening to Chase & Josh: Fact or Fantasy. We'll catch you all down the road for Season 2, but in the words of our favorite Marauders, all that's left to say about Season 1 is.... "Mischief Managed."
We continue our discussion on the most shocking moments in Harry Potter fandom history, with some stories you'll remember -- and others you probably forgot! In 2012, Micah discovered that JKR had announced she was actively working on a Harry Potter Encyclopedia, but it was quickly retracted once the story got out. In 2013, Rowling was outed as male author Robert Galbraith by a lawyer's... wife's... friend... and a British newspaper. Later that same year, only a week after MuggleCast "ended," the Fantastic Beasts film series was announced! Years later, can we all agree Fantastic Beasts IS a prequel? Dumbledore's appearance in Crimes of Grindelwald and the casting of Jude Law was a delightful surprise. In 2016, more Wizarding World schools were announced, and controversy may have prevented us from getting more that were promised. The same year, the stage show Cursed Child is announced, and debuts in 2 parts! We revisit the original description of the show, which is very different than the final product. Honorable mentions submitted by our listeners include Ron/Hermione regrets, Rowling on Twitter, and the Wizards Unite game. We also reflect on the actors we've lost over the years. To wrap up our discussion, each of the hosts speculates on which crazy "impossible" idea will be the next shocking news story in fandom. "I am here, as I'm sure you know, because of Albus Dumbledore's will." - Rufus Scrimgeour. Thank you for stopping by as the Riddikulus Crew rolls into Part 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows today, covering Chapter 6 through Chapter 11 in this final novel of the series. There are so many topics to tackle today as we dive into some incredible detail of moments that will dictate the remainder of the story to come as well as some combat action. A few examples include; What was left to Harry, Ron & Hermione in Dumbledore's Will, Auntie Muriel giving even more backstory into Dumbledore's secret past, a certain symbol on Xenophilius Lovegood's chain, and the battle at Tottenham Court Road. So even though us here at Fact or Fantasy are winding down on the series, don't go anywhere because the best is still yet to come! After today, we only have eight episodes remaining for the contents in this last book, with two of those episodes being focused on Part 1 & Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows films, so you can't afford to miss a single one. In this segment; with the return to Grimmauld Place, the story behind the REAL Horcrux locket, Remus Lupin looking to join the trio, and Mundungus Fletcher supplying a vital piece of information, this is one kicks the adventure into gear. In the words of Kingsley Shacklebolt, "The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming."

Join Chris and Chelsey as they analyze & review (with FULL SPOILERS) Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, the 2004 fantasy movie sequel directed by future Oscar-winner, Alfonso Cuaron. Harry, Ron and Hermione are back at Hogwarts again! This time they bring new, and darker, elements to the franchise - including a brand new Dumbledore! Many consider this to the pinnacle of the series. How does it hold up for us? Bear through Chris' wish of a very special relationship in the place of the Ron/Hermione pairing we start to get here. In this episode of Bibliophiles Anonymous, Denise and Jess discuss the interview that J.K. Rowling gave regarding her changed views of the Ron/Hermione relationship in the Harry Potter series. This is a fandom that takes its relationships very seriously, and this interview sent it rocking with some people cheering her attitude and some shaking their heads in disbelief. Was it all a lie!?! We also continue the discussion into other authors who have made comments, or out right changes, to their already established stories. Our beloved J.R.R. Tolkien completely rewrote a key chapter in The Hobbit so that he could make it fit better into The Lord of the Rings plot line. David Eddings used prequels, Belgareth the Sorcerer and Polgara the Sorceress to clean up (or add to) inconsistencies within the Belgariad series. George R.R. Martin, while working on the Game of Thrones television show, took a barely existent detail from the Song of Ice and Fire series and blew it wide open. What do you think of when authors make changes to already established stories and canon, either in other works, other mediums, or just in outside interviews? Do you think they should share whatever is in their heads? Or should they leave their stories as is? Links: The J.K. Rowling interview, linked through Hypable.com Pro-Ron article from Tor.com A breakdown of the Renly/Loras relationship clues on Angelfire A discussion of Tolkien's rewrite of The Hobbit from The One Ring.net List of inconsistencies addressed in David Eddings' Belgareth the Sorcerer Please let us know what you think.
