It was “Business As Usual” at the annual GM meeting, at least according to every single GM quoted anywhere.  We do appreciate a good set of talking points. Scott Boras made a predictable splash by speaking the truth about tanking and the need to incentivize all teams to win. Pottymouth sets up the entertainment to come with Big Papi and ARod facing off on the newly-released Hall of Fame ballot.It's Labor Day in November as Patti takes you through the economic issues on both the players' union and the league sides in collective bargaining. MLB sees a defined pot of money and is just talking about different ways to slice it up, whereas the players don't put an upper limit on their value -- especially the younger players. We have thoughts about the proposal tying pay to fWAR, getting to arbitration and FA sooner vs eliminating negotiations altogether and keeping players under team control for longer, and changes to the draft to address tanking on purpose. We hypothesize on what it means that a majority of the union's player subcommittee are pitchers, Boras clients, and Patti's bfs.Pottymouth's favorite CPBL team could pull off a trip to the league championship, and has to spend some time explaining to Patti how the playoff system is real. Lured Up Podcast 194 Record Date - 9/8/2021 Publish Date - 9/13/2021   We have had a lot happen in the game since we last recorded! The Season of Mischief is underway and we are learning the vanilla spawn pool as we go. One week in to the Season and we have already had two events. The introduction of Hoopa was a bit lack luster as it required just about no effort at all. It tied in to the Incense Day Collection Challenge, but many completed it so quickly that they were left searching for motivation to continue playing.   Next up we had the Psychic Spectacular, which brought us a new spawn pool as well as the debut of Inkay and Malamar. Time will tell if Trainers care more about event volume than quality, as the first two events of the Season don't seem to pack a punch.   Details have been released for the rescheduled 2020 Safari Zones with events returning to Liverpool, Philadelphia, and St. Louis. The Event features will be the same for previous ticket holders whether they play on location or at home. Many in the community are upset that additional tickets will not be available for purchase, however it is important to remember that this is a make up event.   Finally we Poke The Bear with a discussion on what everyone is thinking now that they have had some time to digest Niantic's announcements. The general vibe did lean towards optimism, however many thought that the messaging was just hollow words. It is clear that actions will speak louder to the Community than words. "You'll stay with me?" asked Harry. "Until the very end," said James.   The time has come to close out the inaugural season of Chase & Josh: Fact or Fantasy and what a ride it has been. This amazing journey began by opening up our show with the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie rankings, to jumping into space taking part in the Star Wars, then spinning off to the Outer Rim with Mando, to tossing a coin to our Witcher in the valley of plenty, followed by surviving The Long Night #ForTheThrone, to heading out west while questioning the nature of our reality with our favorite lifelike hosts, and finally wrapping up this wild first season by attending Hogwarts, learning some magic and saving the Wizarding World with Harry, Ron & Hermione. The Riddikulus Crew wanted to conclude Season 1 by doing something special and delivering a fan-favorite rankings episode, which would bring everything full circle (something we are quite fond of here at Fact or Fantasy) finishing exactly how we started or "opening at the close".  In this episode, Chase & Josh put together 10 categorized rankings and defend their selections in this can't miss season finale! I did a study for fun. I looked at communities and how communities interact with one another like organisms in an ecosystem.   This is a portion of that ecosystem when talking about "leadership."

In art form that is so temporary, we have a tendancy to view aspects of it as permanent.  We think an improv team will last forever, or take classes with only one person... improv is organic. It stops, and starts.  If you need to take a break, go ahead. If you want to switch teams, go ahead.  If you want to change the style of your team, go ahead.  The practice and study of improv is as ethereal as the show.  Allow your journey to ebb and flow, like your improv sets.

How many improv workshops deal with "listening?"  Like a ton of them.   One of the issues we have with online improv is that the skills we used to use in person (observation, peripheral vision, etc) we can't use in online improv.  Online improv is different - and it should be. It should have the same differences as a live play to a movie. I talk about rediscovering listening, and how odd it is that some improviser are so resistent fo evolve.

MARÍA SAN MIGUEL Beginning the violin at age three, Maria developed a passion for the instrument as well as a true vocation for music. She pursued her studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Valladolid and finished her music studies in University at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León. Her interest in trying to complete her music education brought her in touch with other music styles, eventually collaborating with the Edu Soto Plan Renove Band, Mariachi Guerrilla and more. Her new-found fascination for other culture´s music and its origins guided her to Scottish folk music which woke up her curiosity for the Castillian folk music being played in her own culture. Simultaneously her passion for teaching and pedagogy specialized in infants, learning from the musician and pedagog Paulo Lameiro, let her put together part of what is becoming a world-wide trend: Music Workshops for Infants. She has conducted these workshops to great success in both Spain and Germany. Currently, she continues her classical and folk music studies, taking classes from Alasdair Fraser, Natalie Haas, Diego Galaz, Begoña Riobó, Casey Driessen and belongs to the acclaimed European folk bands, “Atalantic Folk Trio”, “Brigantia” and “Dahvar”. GALEN FRASER Galen Fraser is an accomplished fiddle player, composer, engineer and producer from the foothills of Northern California. Best known for his modern take on celtic traditional music, he tours with the praised Spain-baised Atlantic Folk Trio and the original duo María San Miguel & Galen Fraser. Galen has performed at The Mandavi Centre, The Palace of Fine Arts, Symphony Hall in Boston, Ma, with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and many other esteemed venues in the United States and Europe. With a love for improvisation and composition, Galen's passion led him to pursue music as a career, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music. In August 2016, Galen released his debut solo album, "Mischief Managed" featuring all original fiddle music and songs with guests such as Natalie Haas, Alasdair Fraser, Jenna Moynihan and Neil Pearlman.
