Appointed president in 2012, Newcomb steered the college through significant milestones, including navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and overseeing multiple campus expansions. Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Greg Dozier praised Newcomb, calling him "an inspirational leader whose vision and passion have profoundly impacted students, faculty, and staff." Newcomb's impactful tenure also saw him play key roles in education legislation and city governance. He now looks forward to traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
