I've spent the last week working in a town called Munford. Most of you have probably never heard of Munford, Alabama. It's a fairly small dot on the map and on your GPS you have to zoom in a little to get it to show up. It's not far from Oxford which more of you might know simply because of the interstate between Birmingham and Atlanta. Munford lies between Oxford and Talladega which I'm sure even more have heard of simply because of racing. And yes I said Talla-dig-ah and not Talla-day-ga because I learned that's how the locals say it. So go to benandtravis.com and donate to help kids in need and help fund research for cancer. One of my favorite past times is bowfishing. I consider myself somewhat of an outdoorsman. I like to hike. I love to hunt. I have always loved outdoor sports—from baseball to football to ultimate frisbee and golf. But one of my favorites is bowfishing. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it combines the sport and art of archery with fishing. You have a bow, rigged with a reel and line attached to an arrow. You shoot the fish — where we live it is mostly gar, carp, catfish and buffalo — anything other than game fish like bass and brim. I've bowfished at the gulf and in florida wetlands for stingray, crabs, mullet, and tilapia. It is incredibly fun and challenging at the same time. And for me, the fellowship is even better. It is always with some combination of some of my closest friends, mentors, family, and brothers in Christ. One of the coolest things about bowfishing is 95% of the time it is at night on a boat set up with lights able to penetrate the surface of the water and allow us to see things that most people will never see. Passover was always a reminder of both the bad things of the world and the wonderful ways of God. On one hand the Passover was dark. Sacrifices. Blood on the door frame. A death angel.
