We're heading to Samoa again with Scott K, host of The Church of Tarantino and Men of Action podcasts, to talk about Hobbs & Shaw! After talking about why Scott claimed Hobbs & Shaw months ago, we hear his (sort of unusual) rankings. We wind up comparing the franchise (and its characters) to Batman and Robin, Halloween III, and Charles Manson -- each of which inspires exciting possibilities for alternate realities. Scott promises to do some Kurt Russell recon for us then discusses what he loves about Hobbs & Shaw -- and where he wishes the movie ended. Joey comes up with a potential reason why Vin Diesel may be so serious in the later movies and wonders: were they trying to set up Eiza Gonzalez's character for a spinoff? We run through uses of slow motion in the Fast franchise. Email us: family@cageclub.meVisit our Patreon page at patreon.com/2fast2forever. Director Guy Ritchie, when his movies don't star Madonna, tends to make his movies about crime and capers and calamity. His latest movie, “In The Grey”, is no different. This time, instead of an unintelligible Brad Pitt or that guy who played Iron Man playing Sherlock Holmes, we get Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal playing some action and adventure bad-asses named Sid and Bronco, respectively. Their job is to protect big money debt collector and fixer extraordinaire Rachel Wild, played by Eiza Gonzalez. She sells the capital management firm who loaned a billion dollars to a drug boss, who is now not paying the billion back, on her being able to get the drug boss to pay it back. Predictably the drug boss, as drug bosses tend to do, turns this debt collection into a dangerous game of automatic weapons, mines, drones with bombs and booby traps. Ritchie brings his usual well-choreographed action to this movie but is it worth going to the theater to find out what happens? Check out this episode of Movies Merica to find out! “In The Grey” also stars Carlos Bardem, Rosamund Pike, Fisher Stevens, Michael Vu, Mohammed Al Turki, Kojo Attah, James Wong, Kristofer Hivju, Darrell D'Silva, Emmett J. This week, we review Boots Riley's sophomore feature, I Love Boosters, an absurdist comedy skewering capitalist rot at the center of the fashion industry. An enthusiastic reflection of Riley's own politics, I Love Boosters features an infectious display of surrealist humor, eye-popping visuals, and labor-of-love practical effects; but is it enough to cover its everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach? We discuss the movie, go on a Star Wars tangent, and give an update on our Summer Box Office Wager.

A group of shoplifters (Keke Palmer, Taylour Paige, Naomi Ackie) take aim at a ruthless fashion maven (Oscar-nominee Demi Moore) by stealing her clothes and reselling them at a lower price, partially out of revenge for her stealing several of their fashion designs. This is the latest opus from writer/director Boots Riley (Sorry To Bother You) and that overall description doesn't really do it justice to the many crazy turns which this sci-fi/corporate satire takes. The stacked cast also includes Lakeith Stanfield, Eiza Gonzalez, Poppy Liu, Will Poulter, and Don Cheadle. Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of March 27, 2026. The big movie of this week, “They Will Kill You,” is incredibly similar to one of last week's movies, “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.” Similar plot, similar villains, similar (anti)heroines. But this one is a bit funnier with more of a video game vibe throughout. For streaming viewers, there is an intriguing and clever sci-fi action movie on Hulu/Disney called “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice,” starring Vince Vaughn, James Marsden and Eiza Gonzalez and an especially funny Jimmy Tatro in the ensemble. Also streaming, Marvel fans (the older ones anyway) will enjoy the return of Charlie Cox in season 2 of “Daredevil: Born Again.” Stakes are high, similarities to real world situations are uncanny (even though this is based on a comic book storyline from 10 years ago). The brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing nerdy, with a goal to publish a weekly "What to Watch” (taken from KSL-TV's Friday segment) and “What to Do” on the weekend minisodes, and two deep-dives episodes a month on shows, creative works, artists, local events, and other fandom topics. Based in the beautiful Beehive State, Fan Effect celebrates Utah's unique fan culture as it has been declared The Nerdiest State in America by TIME, and is hosted by KSL Movie Show's Andy Farnsworth and Deseret News / KSL Podcasts' KellieAnn Halvorsen. Dan O'Bannon, the co-screenwriter of ALIEN (1979), once stated (paraphrasing) that nothing is original but writers borrow from others. Well, the new science fiction horror film, ASH (2025), certainly does that. It has a bit of ALIEN, among other science fiction films, as well as the novels and works of Michael Crichton. From IMDB: “A woman wakes up on a distant planet and finds the crew of her space station viciously killed. Her investigation into what happened sets in motion a terrifying chain of events.”Ash is the directorial feature length debut of the artist known as Flying Lotus based on a screenplay by Jonni Remmler. The film stars Eiza Gonzalez and Aaron Paul. The film includes science fiction, horror, and techno-thriller elements within it. Getting 71% good reviews by critics while only 54% by audiences, your co-hosts take a look at this highly debated film and give their thoughts.

It's just Kevin and Lauren this week... until it isn't... and then it is again. There's a lot to talk about, with The Outsiders the Musical, The Last of Us Season 2 Finale, Bad Shabbos, The Fountain of Youth, and The Last Showgirl. Lauren kicks off the show by talk about The Outsiders, last years Tony Award winner for best musical. If you recognize the name, it is in fact the same as the '80s Brat Pack film. While that might sounds like it shouldn't work, it absolutely does. With a great set design and score, the show really is spectacular. As Lauren was discussing that show, Andrew (who had already told everyone he had better things to do than waste his evening with them, mind you) popped in. This gave him and Kevin the chance to talk about the last 2 episodes of The Last of Us Season 2. The agreement is that episode 6 was spectacular and the finale was solid and Andrew, with a little time to ruminate, has found himself understanding Abby's story and Ellie's shortcomings a little more than before. All in all it's a great finish and cliffhanger for a solid season. After Andrew exits only slightly less unceremoniously than he arrived, Lauren talks about the indy film, Bad Shobbos. It's a low budget comedy with a cast of actors you'd recognize but most likely can't name beyond Kira Sedgwick, but it's wonderfully done and a great time. It's a movie that reminds us to look beyond the name on the poster and see what's really being put on the screen and most definitely worth a watch. Next up, Kevin talks about The Fountain of Youth, which is almost the exact opposite situation as Bad Shobbos. Here you have a stellar cast with John Krazinzky, Ntalie Portman, Stanley Tucci, Eiza Gonzalez, and more. Not only that, it's a big budget adventure film. But with all of that, it lacks the heart that something small and special like Bad Shobbos has, proving the point again, it's not the names on the poster, but what's been put to film. Lauren closes the show with The Last Showgirl. This one stirred up a lot of Award Season buzz last year with the resurgence of Pamela Anderson. It gets Kevin and Lauren talking about aging and beauty standards in Hollywood and how they are so often hypocritical. All that aside, it's a great movie and it has a quick runtime, so if you see it streaming, definitely give it a go! As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. It's our favorite annual tradition, as ADHD-DVD's Hayley Leier stops by to talk about the best TV of the year. And since TV spent most of the year getting back on track after last year's strikes, it was kind of a weird year without a clear consensus favorite. But we still had plenty of winners to talk about as we dig into Fargo, The Bear, Girls5Eva, Somebody Somewhere, Interior Chinatown, and so much more. For the second week in a row, there's an attempt to figure out how famous Eiza Gonzalez is, plenty of tangents, and some real talk with North America's most trusted culture critic. CONTENT WARNING: We recorded this before the allegations against English Teacher creator Brian Jordan Alvarez were made public. Additionally, we do discuss Baby Reindeer, which means there is some non-graphic, non-specific, and respectful discussion of sexual assault. If you would like to skip either of these sections, the time codes are: English Teacher - 7:00 - 16:30 Baby Reindeer 1:07:35 - 1:19:30
Tom Oord (Fool's Gold Variety Hour, my actual cousin) joins the Jason Statham Film Festival to discuss Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. It's a blast, both the movie and the conversation. We try to work out how we feel about the Rock these days, revel in some big stupid stunts, try to figure out if Eiza Gonzalez was already famous when she appeared in this movie, and also we talk about the Penguin. We had a lot of fun and I think you'll enjoy it!74

The British pride themselves on being gentlemanly. That goes all out the window in the movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare when they know they're dealing with Nazis during World War II. British officers, along with none other than Winston Churchill himself, send a team of bad boys to deal a critical blow to the German submarine fleet. This team is led by Henry Cavill, who's character they had to let out of military prison to lead this team. He's joined by Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Henry Golding and Hero Fiennes Tiffin. The boys find themselves heading towards Africa where the boats that supply the German submarine fleet is headquartered. These ungentlemanly bad boys are tasked with wreaking havoc on this submarine supply system. They also get help from Eiza Gonzalez as a half-Jewish actress who is very motivated to hurt Nazis and Babs Olusanmokun who is a casino owner near these headquarters, who doubles as a British spy. The action gets good and brutal, you might say, downright ungentlemanly. Is it worth a gentleman and gentlelady taking the trip to the theater to check this out? Check out this episode to find out. This also stars Cary Elwes, Rory Kinnear, Til Schweiger, Freddie Fox, James Wilby, Henrique Zaga, Danny Sapani, Matthew Hawksley, Simon Paisley Day, Mark Oosterveen and Victor Oshin. Daniel and Erwin review the new Guy Ritchie film "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" starring Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson, Eiza Gonzalez, and Henry Golding and talk about his filmography, his Quentin Tarantino inspiration, and more. This review contains FULL spoilers. Did they love it, did they hate it, or are they somewhere between? Listen to find out. Description: Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly "ungentlemanly" fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.

Welcome to a profound episode of the 'Right Place/Right Time' podcast, where hosts Mike and Lance engage in a captivating conversation with the esteemed acting coach, John Markland. With a roster of talent including Jeremy Allen White, Lewis Pullman, Eiza Gonzalez, and Eric Dane, John is renowned for his transformative approach to the craft of acting. "Where ever you are is the right place, right time." In this thought-provoking dialogue, John delves into the roots of insecurity and the pursuit of the State of Play for performers. He shares his belief that there is no separation between life and art—our personal evolution as human beings is intricately linked to the development of our art. This symbiotic relationship allows experiences from life to enrich our art and discoveries through our art to further our self-awareness. John eloquently draws parallels between the exploration of children through play and the journey of artists, highlighting the importance of communion between the conscious and unconscious mind. As wounded healers and storytellers, John suggests that by encouraging this state of communion, we can transcend barriers, connect with others, and ultimately, find redemption --------------------------------- Music by Mitch Murder ►John'sWebsite: https://www.themarklandstudio.com/ ►Mike Pecci's IG: instagram.com/mikepecci ►Lance's Instagram: www.instagram.com/golancego/ ►ILWP's IG: instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspod
