Hey, folks! It's time for an all-new episode of Mousterpiece Cinema, and don't worry--you're not seeing things. We really are discussing the very first Disney film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, on today's podcast. This is the first in what will become a monthly mini-series within the overall podcast, wherein Josh revisits some big-name films from past episodes while new co-host Scott Renshaw talks about them for the first time. So what better way to kick off this Revisited mini-series than with the first Disney film? Longtime listeners may remember that Josh respects, but doesn't love, this film; is Scott more of a fan? Does he like it less? Is it insulting to single dimensions to call Snow White single-dimensional? Find out now!
Bryan is joined by Scott Renshaw, the author of Happy Place: Living the Disney Parks Life and they talk about the merging cultures of Disney Parks and Star Wars. As a longtime professional film critic, they talk about how differently Scott is forced to view the films as opposed to being the young fan whose life was changed by that initial release of Star Wars. It's a fascinating discussion. Go to http://saltlakecomiccon.com/fullofsith to get 10% off your Salt Lake Comic Con tickets! Happy New Year, friends! As we step into 2017, it's time for Mousterpiece Cinema (and Josh) to welcome its first new co-host in a long time, Scott Renshaw of Salt Lake City Weekly. This week on the show, Josh and Scott talk about the 2001 comedy from director Garry Marshall, The Princess Diaries. These days, The Princess Diaries, all about a dorky teenager who is shocked to discover that she's the heir of a European throne, is best known as the film that introduced Anne Hathaway to the world. Plus, Julie Andrews in a non-cringeworthy late-era performance! But is this lighthearted comedy funny enough? Is it too long, or not long enough? Josh and Scott are joined by Max Weiss of Baltimore Magazine to debate the film's qualities, as well as that true head-scratcher: why do people hate Anne Hathaway now? Only one way to find out the answer: listen to the show!
Hey, friends! It's time for a very momentous episode of Mousterpiece Cinema, so you'd best start listening ASAP. It's not just the final episode of 2016, but this is Gabe's last episode as co-host of the podcast. As Gabe's swan song, we're talking about the 1995 Nancy Meyers-Charles Shyer comedy Father of the Bride, Part II, starring Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, and Martin Short. But leaving aside the inevitable final argument between Josh and Gabe about the quality of this film, there's a much more important question on everyone's minds: who is going to be the new co-host of Mousterpiece Cinema? The answer is in this episode, and it just might have something to do with our guest this week, Scott Renshaw of Salt Lake City Weekly and the new book Happy Place: Living the Disney Parks Life. But we don't want to tell you anything else just yet--check out the show to find out more!
Your hosts interview Scott Renshaw, the author of "Happy Place: Living the Disney Parks Life". Of course, before we get to the interview we have about an hour's worth of miscellaneous ramblings. Which does include our review of the book, so it isn't a complete waste of time. 1 hour 19 minutes.

It's a first this week on Mousterpiece Cinema, as Gabe and Josh talk about yet another Pixar movie; what's so special is that this is the first time in a single year when there have been two new Pixar movies. This summer, of course, we had the wonderful Inside Out; for the holidays, Pixar has given us The Good Dinosaur, wherein the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs...didn't wipe them out. In fact, the dinosaurs and humans coexist in this film, but does that lead to a good story? Josh and Gabe are joined by friend of the show Scott Renshaw of Salt Lake City Weekly to answer this burning question, as well as do our due diligence and insert at least one reference to The Big Lebowski into this discussion of a movie co-starring Sam Elliott. Plus, one of us calls the movie "disappointing"! A lot! It's not who you think! Check out the show to find out who said it!
With cold and flu season just around the corner, is your family prepared? We talk with Dr. Scott Renshaw of IU Health about best preventive practices to avoid illness and take care of your body. Dr. Renshaw also explains the importance of understanding your insurance coverage and shares helpful stress relief tips. Listen in!
Deciding on a primary car physician for you and your family is a big decision. On this episode of Chat with the Experts, Kiel Hauck sits down with Dr. Scott Renshaw of IU Health to discuss how to find the right doctor for your family and the importance of annual health check-ups. Listen in!
Get out a box or two of tissues, friends, because if you're like Gabe or Josh, you're probably going to need them as we discuss Toy Story 3 on the new episode of Mousterpiece Cinema. Closing out their trilogy of discussions about what might very well be the best American cinematic trilogy ever, Gabe and Josh invite past guest Scott Renshaw of Salt Lake City Weekly on to discuss this final chapter in the saga of Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of their pals. Is this the greatest of all the Toy Story films? Does the ending hit on the same emotional level now as it did in 2010? Will Gabe drop any more crazy movie-related theories this week? You can only find out if you listen! (Note: There's a bit of wonky sound issues in this episode, thanks to the ever-fickle Skype. Apologies!)
There's music galore in the new episode of Mousterpiece Cinema, and why shouldn't there be? On this week's podcast, Josh and Gabe put on their diving gear and went under the sea to swim and frolic and generally be merry with the starfish, bass, crabs, and even more sea life. Yes, it's time to talk about one of Disney's biggest, brightest, and most beloved animated classics: The Little Mermaid. Josh and Gabe were joined this week by Salt Lake City Weekly film critic Scott Renshaw to discuss the 1989 classic's influence, its animation, its character work and, of course, its many memorable songs. Do all three of your hosts love The Little Mermaid as much now as they did before? Does the film hold up to repeat viewing? And does Gabe's irrational hatred of dogs rear its ugly head once again? Only one way to find out: check out the new show!
For today's Crizzlecast, I take it all the way up to Sundance country to talk to today's guest. I speak with Scott Renshaw, the head film critic over at the Salt Lake City Weekly. We talk about the Sundance Film Festival as well as his early days reviewing films in high school, what's it like reviewing movies in Utah, his hilarious Twitter page and why it's such a pain in the ass to get a press screening for Star Trek Into Darkness. Talking with film critics is always hilarious. You'll see why when you take a listen to this.
The podcast is back for a fall season of new episodes and conversations – hooray! In this one, I talk with Scott Renshaw of the Salt Lake City Weekly about the art of criticism, how he gets it done, and why. Scott says there’s no genre where you can’t find excellence, and that “you have [&hellip
