It's no secret that we love music related documentaries. It's always interesting when the talking heads get their brains picked on an equally interesting subject. One particular doc that has gotten attention is the "Records Collecting Dust" and it's sequel. Being vinyl fanatics, it's so cool diving into some our fave artists record collections with them. These amazing docs have inspired us to do our own audio version. We share our first vinyl, some cool collectibles and a fistful of essential platters. Featuring some amazing records ranging from Sodom to The Crue to Bob Newhart (??). What are some of your faves? In our "News, Views and Tunes", we attend the 2024 Ai-Kon anime/manga con and discuss the Legend of Seth Putnam. Musically, we crank Paul Di'Anno's Warhorse, Destroyer 666, Iron Reagan, Overdrive (Swe), Steel Vengeance, Executioner (Boston) and The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black. Horns Up!
there was a lot of discussion online yesterday yesterday about a cancelled EU tour by A.C. which to be perfectly frank, surprised me because if you cannot make a Seth Putnam hologram work out financially, I don't know what hope there is for holograms of anyone else. I do have a bit of experience in this realm having attempted to mount a hologram tour featuring Mungo Jerry's Ray Dorset in the early 2000's, but the project was thwarted when we learned Dorset was still very much alive (and touring). These are dark and confusing times to be sure, especially if someone were to mix and match key details from Seth Putnam and Ray Dorset's wikipedia biographies. I am confident no one reading this will do such a thing (thank you).
Episode 18 - In this conversation KP chats with New Life Church (Colorado Springs) worship pastor Seth Putnam. Seth dives into what it takes to make a family/relational culture work on your team, and how to take auditions from a music based process to a discipleship based pathway! JJ Ruiz is an Austin-based musician who has played with several punk and hardcore bands since the 2000s. With one of those bands, Naw Dude, he opened for Anal Cunt. In this episode, he relays his stories about AC's late iconic frontman and one of the greatest American performance artists of the last two decades Seth Putnam. This episode is all about Seth, an artist as important to us as Vito Acconci or Wyndham Lewis, for real. Much the way Marc Maron is late to the party when it comes to appreciating Seth Putnam's vast oeuvre, I have been late to the party when it comes to contracting you-know-what. I was not, however, about to let omicron ba.2 prevent me from completing episode 102 of this program, and if you think I'm the sort of person who is above milking this scenario in order to ensure a few extra listeners, you clearly don't know me at all (in fact, I think it's fair to say you're not only late for the party but you've arrived after the punishers / things-that-wouldn't leave have up and left). This week's show features new stuff from Blackhaine, Warthog, Michael Morley, Aaron Turner, Devin Brahja Waldman & Hamid Drake, Ale Hop (with Raul Jardin and Sukitoa o Namu) and for the second time in a month includes something from from someone on the Institute family tree (the stump, if you will). That probably won't happen a third time this month but who can really say what the future holds (I could hazard a guess but I'm petty enough to milk the suspense. By any means necessary / whatever it takes in the online radio game.

PANTERA is one of the few bands to raise the bar consistently and continuously with each album. THE GREAT SOUTHERN TRENDKILL is the most “everything” Pantera album. It’s easily the angriest, heaviest, darkest Pantera album EVER and is, most indubitably, the “kick in the jimmy” that the Metal world was in dire need of in the mid 90’s after grunge and alternative music effectively “declawed” Metal and turned it (for the most part) into some watered down, tame, “domesticated” shadow of its former self. JOIN US as we celebrate the obnoxiously abrasive audacity that is Pantera’s 8th studio album and see if you don’t feel transcendentally relaxed & refreshed afterwards (trust us, you will). The Livecast has returned after taking a week off, and it was jam packed with offensive content. We began the show with Rob, Frank and Noa talking about their experiences on the 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise. Somehow the conversation escalated to what the most random place each of us masturbated that wasn't our home. After the music break, we were stood up Seth Putnam for a while. We amused ourselves with the first edition of MasterTweet Theater, where we read some of Seth Putnam's tweets. We finally were able to get through to Seth who let us know that he was late because he was taking a post-drug-binge nap. Very exciting!
