Possibly the greatest vanity project ever made... again! We're revisiting GetEven (aka Champagne & Bullets, aka Road to Revenge)—a redux of Episode 3 where we first stumbled into one of the most tippy-top-shelf vanity projects in existence. This episode's a three-fer. It puts a temporary end to our evil "feel-bad" movie streak. It gives us a chance to revisit a film we love. And it continues our tribute to the patron saint of the podcast, Wings Hauser. This one's got heavy hitters—William Smith, Pamela Bryant, Wings—and at the center of it all, a man with an ego... err... dream, trial lawyer John Isaac De Hart III. Plus: Battle of the Bands, what we've been watching, slick stuff, neat stuff, etc.! Join our Patreon if you can! Hey, why not call us on our hotline? (724) 246-4669!

Direct-to-video. Erotic thriller. Nineties vampires. Wings Hauser. These are just a few phrases we could use to describe Pale Blood, V. V. Dachin Hsu and Michael W. Leighton's underground vampire movie. Some of these descriptions — or maybe even all of them — would be enough to get the average horror fan to add Pale Blood to their watchlist. But is there more to the movie than nineties nostalgia? That, and so much more, is the focus of this episode with film critic and The Scares That Shaped Us host Matthew Jackson.
We hit the filthy, scum-ridden streets of Los Angeles alongside our late patron saint and cult icon, Wings Hauser, in Street Asylum (1990). It's got all the things we love—Wings Hauser, fascistic police brutality, and G. Gordon Liddy having kinky S&M sex. This is our toilet-humor tribute to the man we love most. Colin hits the skeevy underbelly of LA in pursuit of cinema's craziest, scariest, most sadistic psycho pimp with the Vice Squad (1982), with the late, great Wings Hauser at his demented best as Ramrod, who spends the night hunting down the call girl (Season Hubley) who set him up. Listen as we spend time learning about pimp sticks, sugar pimps, toe suckers, and profess a surprising love of sleazy movies on this week's exciting episode! Hosted on Acast. In celebration of the career of Wings Hauser, we're tackling the gritty crime thriller Vice Squad! We talk about the police treatment of sex ring syndicates, the ways this film succeeds in attempting to see both sides of sex work, and the excellent performance of Hauser as Ramrod. This week, we're watching more Wings Hauser with a look at the 1991 TV movie "Bump In The Night." Listen now.
PUBLIC VERSION. Filmmaker Elric Kane (THE DEAD THING) joins Joe to discuss his career journey and the making of his debut feature. From growing up in New Zealand and coming to America to pursue cinema… to his obsession with Zulawski's POSSESSION (and his thoughts on the remake of the cult-classic by a previous Movie Crypt guest)… to becoming a popular presence in the Los Angeles film scene through his many podcast hosting duties on shows like PURE CINEMA PODCAST and COLORS OF THE DARK… to how he's been sharing the art of film with students in his classes… to shooting his erotic psychological horror mind-bender THE DEAD THING (available now on Shudder!) on a micro-budget… to his love for actor Wings Hauser and more, this terrific geek-out conversation with Elric was long overdue!
This week, we remember the iconic Wings Hauser with a look at the low-budget 1988 action schlocker "Dead Man Walking." We talk about the movie's triple threat of Wings as anti-hero Luger, Brion James as psycho convict Decker and Jeffrey Combs as "Chaz" in a plague-infested wasteland that's a little too close to our present day reality. Listen now.
Not the best Wings, but he always steals the scene

More Wings to come as we mourn the passing of a legend.
Things that are cool as hell: Ernest Borgnine crankin' it, Wings Hauser doing a big, fat, Texan accent, Roy Starkey (the Chamber of Commerce's Man of the Year, 1985), The Admiral, and of course an attack helicopter with all sort of buttons that say things like "sidewinder" and "chaff"Well guess what folks? This podcast episode features all of those things and all at once! That's because the BTBs are FINALLY covering the 80s espionage show Airwolf! But while all those things are cool in and of themselves, there's one thing you can add to make everything EVEN BETTER. Have you figured out what it is yet? No it's not a monkey shooting a bazooka (but close guess) it's a SECOND attack helicoper fighting the first attack helicopter! If you need more reasons to listen to this episode then you're a lost cause. So strap in, push the button which causes your helicopter to start the podcast, and get ready to be blown away
The year is almost done, and Lee has some early stocking-stuffers for your in the form of short reviews of recent watches, as well as an update on the state of the podcast. Featured Music: "Just Chili" by Dave and the One-Ways & "Neon Slime" by Wings Hauser.

Champagne and Bullets (1993) Directed By: John De Hart, James Paradise Starring: John De Hart, Wings Hauser, William Smith, some half naked fuckers This "movie" goes by a few different names, "Champagne and Bullets", "Road to Revenge" and "GetEven" ("GetEven" is linked above) - and are all different cuts of the same film. Regardless of that, it's undeniable that this movie was written, produced, directed and stars John De Hart. After his wife is killed by the cult, one of the cops is determined to bring the cult down." We Also Talked About: Alone Season 11 (Amazon) Dark Side of the 90's (Amazon) 1. SNL 2. Cheap as chips but nowhere near as tasty, Dead Man Walking (1988) is an interesting action (?) sci-fi (??) relic of the VHS era that artist/funny person Raine helped me decipher. The film is no masterpiece but it does feature some primo Nervous Jeff, Manhandled Jeff, Sassy Jeff and Wings Hauser. Plus, probably the worst kissing scene in cinema! Cool! All episodes are made available to Patreon subscribers one week before their general release. We're joined by screenwriter Tom Vaughan to discuss a pair of cult classics by director Gary Sherman. We dig into the small-town murder-conspiracy thriller Dead and Buried as well as the ne plus ultra sleaze-thriller Vice Squad. The strengths and weaknesses of the films make for an interesting contrast that leads into a larger discussion about the practical intersections of screenwriting and on set filmmaking (with some talk about meddling producers thrown in for good measure.) The trio compares Dead and Buried's wonky & lumpy script (by Alien and Total Recall scribes Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett) to Vice Squad's drum-tight story to consider how screenwriting plays into (or interferes with) making two such memorable films. Time to get the job done, maniacs! This week we're checking out the obscure Wings Hauser vehicle The Carpenter from 1988. While we try to make sense of what seems like a first draft script, we also discuss topics such as Hauser's bizarre dialogue, colleges that still have class bells, and tools stealing tools. Drop that Caramello and check out our Patreon! For August's bonus episode, which we're calling the Back In The Day Blitz, Lance prompts the table with some questions relating to our childhoods. For as little as $2 a month you can get in on the action as well with bonus episodes, Discord privileges, livestreams, exclusive merchandise and more! Want more movies from 1988? Check out our previous episodes on Killer Klowns From Outer Space (episode 26), Hack-O-Lantern (episode 57), Flesh Eater (episode 95), Dead Heat (episode 131), Slugs (episode 189), Evil Dead Trap (episode 252), and Poltergeist III (episode 298).

On today's episode it's serial killers, pimps and underage hookers! The gang “gets into it” with the one of the many Ted Bundy biopics, this time it's the 2002 film by Matthew Bright. Then they rock out to the killer vocals of Wings Hauser as Ramrod with Vice Squad (1982). And finally they hit the mean streets of Hollywood Boulevard in Angel (1984). Also! Everybody's cute in Tom's world! Who's allowed to say the word “Tranny”? Dave is head over heels for Donna Wilkes! Tom Facebook-stalks celebrities. Stealing shots on the Sunset Strip! Dave's pet peeve about underwear in sex scenes! Is there a Vinegar Syndrome / Matthew Bright connection? Plus Rory Calhoun, Michael Reilly Burke! Nina Blackwood! Season Hubley! Tom Savini! The Boob Tube Boys are once again transforming into the Motion Picture Men and wrapping up their coverage of the hit 90s action flick Champagne and Bullets. When we left the film last week our buddy Wings Hauser (as 'Huck' Finney) had just beaten up some cops (again) and found himself with a one-way ticket to court. Rick and Cindy have gotten back together again and their lives couldn't be betterThis time around we'll be seeing lots and lots of sex scenes featuring a very old man pawing at a very young woman, but there's plenty more here too! Like other sex scenes featuring a very old man pawing at a very young woman. We also delve deeper into Normad's life which is something we all approve of doing, but also meet a myriad of other wacky characters including Cindy's awful step-parents, some more topless babes, and the return of Sam the racist wooden statue!Stick around for the end when Spencer reveals his choice of movie to cover over the next two weeks, and when you're done come back and click below to watch it along with us. Oh hi movie!Click here for next week's movie
We return to the familiar territory of the 80's for our selections this time, starting out with 1983's "Sweet Sixteen" directed by Jim Sotos. It's a sordid and occasionally confusing tale of a small town that is suddenly plagued with mysterious events, including murders! The local sherrif, played by show-favorite Bo Hopkins attempts to get to the bottom of things with the help of his two teenaged children. It's fun but doesn't hold a candle to our second movie, 1984's "Mutant" directed by John "Bud Cardos, and which ALSO stars Bo Hopkins as the local sherrif! This one has it ALL...zombies, conspiracies, murder, unruly rednecks, and Wings Hauser! We recommend both movies, but Mutant is the real winner of these two. We then proceed to list the various things we've been watching for fun. Please let us know what you thought of the show, and send us some suggestions for future episodes.
