How2Exit: Mergers and Acquisitions of Small to Middle Market Businesses
Watch Here: https://youtu.be/n8w08TJMPdIAbout the Guest: Fadi Malouf is a strategic buyer, advisor, and capital partner focused on buying, growing, and exiting companies with scale potential. His career began in the fitness and wellness space before shifting into software, tech, and eventually structured M&A. Now the founder of FM Capital and FM Advisory, Fadi partners with operators and investors to fund deals, implement systems, and position companies for high-value exits. He is currently raising a $100M fund and works with over 60 independent advisors across his network.Summary:In this episode of the How to Exit Podcast, Ron sits down with Fadi Malouf, a seasoned M&A strategist and founder of FM Capital and FM Advisory. Fadi shares a refreshingly candid look into his evolution from personal trainer to software company exit, to advising and funding acquisition deals in the lower-middle market. The conversation covers not only how Fadi thinks about deal structure, ownership vs. control, and turnaround risk—but also how his personal values and lived experiences shape the way he buys and builds businesses.Listeners will find this episode especially compelling if they're trying to bridge the gap between being an operator and becoming an investor. Fadi doesn't hold back on his disdain for turnaround deals, his belief in control over ownership, and his obsession with systems, delegation, and operational execution. But what makes this interview resonate is the philosophical undercurrent: businesses are problems to be solved, but you better love solving them.Key Takeaways:Buy with an exit in mind – Fadi learned the hard way that starting a company without thinking about its eventual exit is a recipe for pain and lost value.Turnarounds are not for amateurs – He strongly advises new buyers to avoid turnaround deals unless they have the capital, team, and turnaround-specific experience.Control beats ownership – Fadi prioritizes control over equity, emphasizing results and alignment rather than maximizing ownership at the expense of execution. The real bottleneck is often the founder – Companies under $3M in revenue are frequently hampered by owners who haven't fired themselves from key roles.Invest in systems and delegation early – Fadi emphasizes the importance of building a company that runs without you; hire people smarter than you and get out of the way.Culture kills or scales – If you buy a company with entrenched staff resistant to change, expect a battle. Culture change is slow and hard.Capital without credibility is a deal killer – Bringing money to the table means nothing if the operator can't prove capability or relinquish control.Fall in love with the problem – You'll face chaos, adversity, and setbacks. If you don't love what you're doing, it'll break you.--------------------------------------------------Contact Fadi onLinkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fadimalouf/Website: https://fadimalouf.com/--------------------------------------------------
What if our society's deepest prejudices weren't about race, gender, or sexuality—but height? In his groundbreaking allegorical novel, acclaimed Jordanian author and activist Fadi Zaghmout imagines just such a world, crafting a powerful meditation on discrimination and desire that speaks directly to our contemporary debates about identity and inclusion. The Man of Middling Height (Syracuse University Press, 2025) follows a short dressmaker whose life is upended when she meets Tallan, a man whose middle height places him outside the rigid tall/short binary that governs their society. As their forbidden romance blossoms, they must navigate a world where height determines everything from social status to romantic possibilities. Through their story and those of surrounding characters—including a short person in a polyamorous relationship with two tall partners, and a tall activist who scandalously loves another tall person—Zaghmout deftly reframes contemporary discussions about gender identity and sexuality through the lens of height discrimination. Fadi Zaghmout is a Jordanian author and sexual freedoms and body rights advocate. He has published five novels, including The Bride of Amman, Heaven on Earth, Laila, and Hope on Earth. Egal!
@fadimohem is right at the heart of contemporary techno. He brings his own twist on the classic sound - deep, rhythmic and atmospheric. He's a Berghain resident whose first contact with the genre came at the hallowed club, and since then, he has blazed his own trail on the most influential labels in the scene, including his own Mohem imprint. This year, he plays twice at Dekmantel Festival, once as part of WSNWG Live and once on the Radar stage. Ahead of that, he has put together an exclusive one-hour live set comprised only of unreleased music. It's a masterclass in control that embodies just what you get from Fadi in the club: deep techno planted firmly on the floor but always going somewhere. As dubbed out low ends, glitchy textures and more tripped out melodies come and go, the tension ramps up while both body and mind stay locked.

In this episode, host Pete Moore sits down with Fadi Zoghzoghy, founder and CEO of Bridge Athletic. Fadi shares his insights about the transformative power of tech for the training market, particularly for college and professional athletes and coaches. With a strong background in tech, Fadi goes further into how Bridge is digitizing weight rooms and enhancing athlete development through personalized training, learning, and adaptive learning strategies. Bridge is not just about efficiency, but also about improving performance and player engagement. On bringing coaching "into the 21st century and seeing a white space," Fadi states, "There are no tools out there to help them do their job . . . efficiently and effectively. They're spending a lot of time in Excel designing these training plans. They're sending YouTube links. They're following up via text messages. It's all pretty much done in 1990's tech. That was the opportunity that we went after initially." Key themes discussed Digitizing athletic training and development Empowering strength coaches with modern tools Pricing software's value proposition Measuring user engagement stickiness Athletic program performance analysis Success stories in fitness innovation Entrepreneurial impact on community A few key takeaways: 1. Bridge Athletic's Impact on Efficiency: Bridge is a tool designed to digitize the weight room and optimize the workflow of strength and conditioning coaches. The platform helps them move away from traditional pen and paper or Excel-based methods to a digital system that saves coaches an average of forty minutes per day. 2. Focus on Strength and Conditioning: Initially targeting the strength and conditioning community, Bridge aims to enhance the efficiency of coaches by allowing personalization of training plans and facilitating better engagement and compliance from their athletes. 3. Adoption and Retention: The platform boasts high retention once an organization brings them in. Once coaches and athletes see the benefits of Bridge's digital strategies and how much more efficient things become, the tech becomes an integral part of the training processes. 4. Versatile Applications: Bridge is also used across various sectors, including pro teams, college athletics, tactical communities, and the fitness industry. Its applicability ranges from enhancing athlete development to aiding fitness professionals in business growth. 5. Positive Experiences and Testimonials: The platform has significantly impacted users, which is evident from their many unsolicited testimonials ranging from helping athletes in recovery journeys to contributing to their performance and overall satisfaction. Fadi Al-Waheed was born in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in the 80s to Palestinian parents. Fadi is a pacifist and an animal lover. His childhood was anything but nostalgic as he was force-fed the five Islamic books as doctrine. During university in Jordan, a friend's admission of atheism ignited something in Fadi, leading him to quietly leave the faith at 21, all under the shadow of apostasy laws. Losing his mother in 2012 became a turning point; Fadi stopped apologizing for who he was and gave up trying to please everyone. Years later, he met his British partner in Qatar, and together they've made their way to the UK where they live together with their dogs now, a life he once only dreamed of.
Fadi Kafeety of the Jerusalem Fund had a long conversation with Bob about the current crisis in the Middle East. There's been a ceasefire in Gaza, but the genocide hasn't stopped, and Israel is continuing to intervene in other Middle East states like Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. They had a great conversation, speaking about the long history of the region as well as current problems, and went into detail on the resistance of Palestine, the scope of Israel's genocide, Israel's setbacks, and what we might see going forward. bio//Fadi Kafeety (@fkafeety1948) is the Executive Director of The Jerusalem Fund and its educational program, the Palestine Center. Today, the Two Mikes and our producer Fadi spoke about the road we have traveled together to reach our 500th podcast. We reminisced a bit about the past, but mostly discussed how lucky we have been able to speak with so many really good and smart guests, men and women who taught both us and our listeners a lot about how the world really works when you talk to genuinely knowledgeable Americans and Foreigners who love the United States and understand the beauty and worth of the U.S. Constitution. We have gone toe-to-toe with a couple of our guests on some issues, but only one has ever refused to return. Almost needless to say we talked to that fellow about the events of January 6th, about which he knows a great deal, and we asked him to come back again, a request to which he agreed, but he never answered another of our emails. This fellow – who advertises himself as “Proud Jew” -- must have gotten a call from the ADL or AIPAC ordering him to stop speaking with the two old guys who -- unlike most recent presidents -- believe America is overwhelmingly more important than Israel. You can take it to the bank, that over our 500 podcasts we have encountered a goodly number of this guy's brethren who will damn and condemn us but will not agree to discuss their gripes on a podcast. Anyway, the three of us want to thank all of our listeners for their support and comments, all of our sponsors who have made us rich – that's not true of course – and the Lord for letting two young - older men persevere through scores of shows and be blessed with great guests and marvelous listeners.
