Rock Solid Families • 00:35•The “Rock Solid Families” podcast episode features Bridgitte Price, an adolescent specialist and coach, and Jenna Helton, the marketing and administrative assistant.•The episode focuses on the theme of “Decluttering Your Heart and Home,” exploring the relationship between emotional and physical clutter.•Bridgitte emphasizes gratitude towards the podcast sponsors: Maxwell Construction, Casey's Outdoor Solutions, and the Hooer Ice House. The Connection Between Heart and Home•Bridgitte and Jenna discuss the correlation between emotional well-being and physical environment.•They share personal experiences of feeling overwhelmed by clutter, particularly when lacking boundaries and prioritizing tasks.Key Concepts1.Physical and Emotional Clutter:•Clutter reflects personal values, fears, and reluctance to release items.•Decluttering can lead to peace and clarity, allowing individuals to feel God's guidance.2.Reasons for Holding On:•Misplaced Priorities: The tendency to chase material possessions or status, such as keeping sentimental items from past generations (e.g., beanie babies, Precious Moments).•Busyness as a Badge: The societal expectation to be busy can interfere with meaningful time spent in prayer and self-reflection.•Emotional Clutter: Grudges, regrets, and unrealistic expectations can weigh heavily, blocking peace.•Fear Factors: Fear of lack (holding onto items “just in case”), fear of change, and fear of losing identity can prevent decluttering.3.Spiritual Reflection:•The phrase “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be” (Matthew 6:19-21) highlights the importance of introspection regarding what one values and prioritizes.Practical Steps to Declutter1.Physical Clutter:•Implement the “Three Pile Rule”: separate items into keep, donate, and trash piles.•Be prepared for a messy process before achieving a clean and organized space.•Consider the time it takes to clean: if it takes over 10-15 minutes to tidy up, it may indicate excessive clutter.2.Emotional Clutter:•Identify and confront emotional baggage, such as fears or past regrets.•Engage in prayer, journaling, and fasting from distractions to focus on spiritual growth.3.Seek Contentment:•Focus on appreciating what one already possesses rather than seeking more.•Encourage listeners to be thoughtful stewards of their resources.Advice and Encouragement•Prayer and Surrender: Ask God for help in releasing burdens that do not serve one's spiritual journey.•Allocate Time for God: By reducing clutter, individuals can create more time for prayer, journaling, and being present with God.•Take Action: Encourage listeners to take small steps toward decluttering, starting with one room or area at a time.https://rocksolidfamilies.orgSupport the show#Rocksolidfamilies, #familytherapy, #marriagecounseling, #parenting, #faithbasedcounseling, #counseling, #Strongdads, #coaching, #lifecoach, #lifecoaching, #marriagecoaching, #marriageandfamily, #control, #security, #respect, #affection, #love, #purpose, #faith, #affairs, #infidelity
Over the past few years, we have explored many different facets of the secondhand economy: resellers and the ethics of reselling secondhand items, the various secondhand platforms, the fine art of thrifting, and even where all of the unsold stuff from thrift stores ends up! In this episode we'll learn what it's like to run an independent thrift store, with Sara and Shan of Bargain Thrift Center, a thrift store in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. We will discussHow the unrealistically low prices of ultra fast fashion impact the prices most people are willing to pay for secondhand itemsOpportunities that the secondhand supply chain has to reach more people and match them with the product they are seekingWhat happens to the collectibles and tchotchkes that are flooding thrift stores right now (I call it the “collection industrial complex”)And Sara and Shan's vision for the future of secondhand/thriftingAlong the way, we'll talk an awful lot about Precious Moments and we'll wonder where all of the Ed Hardy stuff ended up at the end of the 00s.Also: Amanda shares why she is feeling optimistic right now.Follow Bargain Thrift Center on Instagram: @bargainthriftcenterGet your Clotheshorse merch here: https://clotheshorsepodcast.com/shop/If you want to share your opinion/additional thoughts on the subjects we cover in each episode, feel free to email, whether it's a typed out message or an audio recording: amanda@clotheshorse.worldDid you enjoy this episode? Wow, covered a lot today! Rich will have to edit out a technical issue we had, but, we managed to get it all covered anyway. A bit about the election, and the amazing endorsement of Kamala Harris by the Babylon Bee! Hard to argue against their reasons! We talked about the Precious Moments figurines with weird connections to wild viewpoints coming out of the Vatican, how David Allen is going to try to prop up the absurd "Two Romans" theory, about the specifics of my debate with Tom Riello, and then finished up with Tobias Riemenschneider's response to Joel Webbon and what the real issues are in that controversy. I have no idea how long it will be once Rich cuts out the network drop we had, let alone my issues, but, well over an hour anyway! Not sure if I will get to do another program as I will be at the FLF conference in Fort Worth the whole weekend.

Looking for an excuse not to go to work tomorrow? We got you covered. These tales from the workplace will make you too freaked out to possibly even begin to think about going to work ever again. Our first story begins in the 70's where a young man finds a great job in Chicago but right before he's meant to leave, he has a terrible accident and is unable to go. Fate stepped in though because his would-have-been boss turned out to be none other than John Wayne Gacy.Alissa leaves our jaws on the floor with her stories from Pascagoula, Mississippi. They involve time warps, ghosts, ufos, folklore, and more! Britt regails a tale of a Hallmark store from the 90's and a bored, possibly lonely dad who just can't get enough Precious Moments. While cleaning a locked hallway, we hear in Alissa's story, how they are greeted with a young child dressed in dated clothing. Was it a ghost or a kid really good at breaking into late night empty hallways?Britt breaks all of our hearts and makes us rush to turn on the lights when she shares a tale of someone working in a lab at Virginia Tech who encounters a spirit from the tragedy that took place there in 2007. The evening is wrapped up with a horrifying and kind of delightful tale of a real estate photographer who photographs all sorts of haunted houses but one basement in particular really give him the goose bumps.Support the showRemember to share the podcast with friends and we want to hear your stories! Mind my Gooseberry Bushes! Tonight on Good Movie Podcast? Dan and Jonathan are taking a much deserved trip to Dogville (2003). In this town is the underlying belly of seedy Americana. With a cast full of goodie goodies what happens when Nicole Kidman waltzes in? In a theatrical commentary of America who will be left standing, gnawing at the bones of humanity? Bring your chalk outlines and labeled stage directions, who is to be believed? Will Dan Ryan finally write the next great American novel? Will Jonathan resist smashing some Precious Moments figurines? The answers are both resoundingly clear, but maybe you should listen and demonstrate the tenants of stoicism? Welcome to Thursday! We started things off with the Thursday Song and we ran down a list of words that mean "drunk" in the English language. Got some three-ways with Shaw and asked "Would you rather get paid daily"? Had an inspiring story about a guy who is walking barefoot across the country to raise money & awareness for men's mental health. And we told you about the Cadbury Bunny contest! Today is National Margarita Day, and Shaw once again shared his recipe for the best margs out there. Last year, we found out about the Gathering of the Kyles, and today we discovered the Ryan Rodeo happening in Austin, TX this Saturday! Talked a bit about Rock Fest, and we reminisced about the Franklin Mint & the Precious Moments figurines that might be worth some money now! During the Friggin' Sports, we discussed the MLB's new uniforms being somewhat transparent, and during today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about the most expensive property in America, voters think that both Biden & Trump are too old to be President, an update on that severed leg that was found in the NYC subway, the Amazon driver in WI that was hit by a train while driving his delivery van, a woman who recently celebrated her 107th birthday, an outbreak of bed bugs in Vegas, Red Lobster making changes to it's "All-You-Can-Eat" shrimp promotion, a trio of German Shepherds who jumped into a stranger's car and refused to get out, and a guy who got caught with some drugs AND a rocket launcher!!!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This episode is all about our bedtime routine, a cherished ritual in our home. We explore emotions with our favorite emotions cards, unraveling each other's feelings. It's amazing how these simple cards spark such profound conversations. Then, there's our bedtime meditation cards, a few moments that always bring us closer, imagining wild riptides or peaceful raindrops. We share, we laugh, we sometimes disagree. Hey, what's family life without a little chaos, right?! But above all, we connect, heart to heart, in these quiet, magical moments. This episode isn't just about bedtime routines or parenting tips. It's about the raw, real, and beautifully messy journey of raising kids. So grab your headphones, and let's dive into this heartwarming adventure together. Here are the key moments from the episode: 9:30 Nighttime routine that brings me and my kids closer together 14:00 How to talk emotions with your kids with emotion cards 20:00 Talking through emotions with my kids 30:00 Bedtime meditation practice with my kids 37:30 Cash & Ruby Q&A 39:50 Favorite lessons I taught my kids, according to my kids Connect with Heidi! Somebody's got some explaining to do. Mary may not doubt like Zechariah, but she's not taking this without a little pushback. A baby. Are you kidding me? Well, in fact, Gabriel wasn't kidding. Join Coffee to Go co-hosts Karin Peter and Blake Smith for a look into Mary's angel encounter and what that meant for her, and for us. Could be that there is more going on here than what you find in a Precious Moments nativity. Who could a 1990s Christian rock aficionado turn to in order to find the latest and greatest releases? For mainstream music fans, tastemakers included record store clerks of 1990s indie music stores, or retail juggernauts like Tower Records and Wherehouse - the kind of superfans depicted by Jack Black in High Fidelity. But for many evangelical teens of the 1990s, record stores were not the place to find kid-tested, parent-approved music. For that, Christian teens usually had to go to Christian bookstores. There, among the Bibles and Precious Moments dolls and Christian-themed t-shirts, they found the records that defined their adolescence. Their guides on the journey? Bookstore Guys. This week on Rock that Doesn't Roll: with insight from ethnomusicologist Andrew Mall (author, God Rock, Inc.), hosts Andrew Gill (producer, Sound Opinions) and Leah Payne (author, God Gave Rock & Roll to You) follow the story of John J. Thompson (True Tunes podcast), a Christian bookstore guy who dreamed of transcending the Christian bookstore and creating a music store - along with a thriving artistic community - for fans of critically-acclaimed Christian rock. We all want more out of life: more happiness, more success, and greater fulfillment. But most people usually find that in one or two areas of life and compromise on the others. According to Jon and Missy Butcher, that does not have to be the case. We can flourish in every dimension of our life when we have clarity on our life vision and nurture our potential, systematically and intentionally. They're here to inspire us with their wisdom. Jon and Missy Butcher are serial entrepreneurs, lovers, and adventurers with a life most people would call “impossible”. Coming from a life of financial and emotional hardship in their youth, Jon and Missy have now founded 19 companies together, and co-own the Precious Moments family of companies, which has made over $10 billion in sales. Jon and Missy are conscious rebels, with a life lived on their own terms - and a respectful disregard for societal norms and rules. During this conversation, Jon & Missy offers advice on designing a life that will fulfill us on all levels using a tool called Lifebook. Lifebook is a transformational lifestyle design system that empowers you to envision, plan and achieve your very best life on your own terms. They also address the common obstacles that people face during this process. Sponsors link (My Bed Time Story): MyBedtimeStory.AI

In this episode of The Skeptical Shaman podcast, host Rachel White (of TOTEM Readings) sits down with Nichole Bigley of the incredible podcasts A Psychic's Story, Supernatural Matters, and A Psychic Story: Kids' Edition. Nichole is also a psychic intuitive that has been I've been talking to angels her whole life. It started at a very early age when her memories of before being born on Earth suddenly returned. She is currently cowriting the book Looking for Angels: A Guide to Connecting with Angels in the hopes of putting more people in touch with their own angelic guides. In this episode, we dispel the myths of the angelic realm and help folks figure out what angels are-- and what they're NOT (hint: it has a little something to do with toxic positivity and Precious Moments dolls).Rachel and Nichole both share their early and very personal first encounters with angels, and how these experiences have shaped their psychic client work and broader lives. Long story short: angels are pretty high impact and basically change the trajectory of your whole life! And, of course, we pull a card from the TOTEM Tarot Deck and it does NOT let us down! I'm Kate Bowler and I am so excited to be back for another season of EVERYTHING HAPPENS. A podcast where we don't have to pretend to explain away our suffering. If your life is not going the way you hoped, I'm someone you do not have to pretend around.About seven years ago, I was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer at age 35. And I have ruined small talk ever since. Thanks to the wonders of immunotherapy, I'm no longer in that sort of endless danger zone of cancer, but it means that I live with my body, often breaking as a kind of chronic condition. And I imagine that's where a lot of us find ourselves one way or another with lives that keep sometimes breaking. So often people want us to say the easy thing like something terrible happens and we're supposed to say "everything happens for a reason." Or "it made me who I am today." We find ourselves surrounded by a culture who loves us for our positive mindset or our willingness to buy essential oils from our cousin named Jennifer. But on this podcast, we're going to do something different. There will be no easy answers. There will be no trite, Precious Moments type wisdom. They'll just be suggestions of how to live and breathe and walk through the things that we didn't really want to carry. We would love to hear from you this season. Leave me a voicemail at 919-322-8731.
