The three standard of piety we havemeditated yesterday, each of which does not stand alone. Praying is not anaction that has nothing to do with fasting and charity. Likewise, fasting andcharity. One righteous deed requires the others two in order to make a personrighteous and blessed before the Lord and can become an example for neighbors. Today's meditationwants to bring our attention to fasting that we do through the acts of charityand prayer. In every act of love one carries out his or her fasting. Likewisewhen there is an opportunity to pray, one fills and strengthens his or herfasting. Both our readings today illuminate our faith about fasting in charityand prayer. The book of theprophet Isaiah confirms that the act of fasting which is very effective inliving together and in accordance with God's will, is to open the chains ofburdens and punishments. All oppressed and fettered forms of life must beremoved. Actions or behaviors that deceive and cause trouble to others must bestopped. Hungry and thirsty people are given their satisfaction. Those whodon't have a house are given a place of refuge. Those who don't have clothesare given what they really deserve. Everything theprophet said had become concrete in Jesus Christ, who carried out the missionof God the Father, and who was accompanied by the apostles. Besides theapostles, there were many disciples who followed and accompanied Him whereverHe went and at every opportunity of His public ministry. To live with the LordJesus is to look at Him, talk to Him, hear Him, touch Him, acknowledge Him,believe in Him, and give oneself to stay with Him until death. These are allopportunities at all times living together in God, that suit all the criteriafor the prayer of a believer. Therefore Jesusenlightens us that, fasting is our active participation in God's presence. Hispresence animates our entire lives. If God has offered Himself to be with us,then why do humans look for ways to fast? All acts of fasting are actually forus to experience the Lord's presence. He is in our midst and we have to enjoyour fellowship with Him. So by being with God, we carry out the mission of theLord, that is to love and praise in His name. We share this love with thosearound us without limit because He always strengthens us through His words andblessings. Let's pray. In the name of the Father... Almighty and ever living God, fill our hearts with Your power that we maycontinue to share Your love with courage and without hesitation, especially inthis moment full of graces. In a religion class, a 5th grade student askedhis teacher: "Where is God?" The student got two answers, which forhim is the satisfactory answers. The first answer is that God dwells in heavenand the second is in every one's heart.  In every place we are and at any given time, fromheaven above God sees our every move and situation. God dwells in our heartsfrom which he whispers and awakens us in our consciences. The fruits of ourhealthy and positive minds show God's actions in every human person. We accept allthis as the truth of our faith. Saint Thomas Aquinas, the leading theologian inour Church, says that the Lord God dwells in the hearts of men and womenthrough His grace and we experience His presence through faith and love. Graceis His blessing to us that produces faith and love. Perhaps people who do not know and believe in God feelthat there is no God in their hearts. But the truth speaks differently, thatGod really exists in them, and yet they reject Him.  So the presence of God everywhere and in thehearts of people is something so evident, for example when God wanted to affirmto King David not to build a tent or a house to be a proper dwelling place for God.God had accompanied David everywhere in every war, it would be an illusion ifGod is confined to a specific house or tent. We shall encounter and experience God as He comes intoour hearts and in our homes, families, or communities. When His word comes toeach one of us, it spreads and is planted there, then growing and bearing fruits.We as individuals, families, groups, and the Church, in addition to being God'sdwelling place from the moment of baptism are also fertile ground for thegrowth and fruitfulness of God's word. This is a miracle that no one has everdone except Jesus Christ. He chooses to enter into each of His followers tomake them grow, live according to His will, and bear fruits of love. We surely realize until this moment, that the word ofGod calls and touches us, and then we follow it then it grows and to make a believerconvinced of his own calling. He tries to fulfill his calling and bears fruits,namely to become a person with a religious vocation or a lay person in general.Every one of us, in prayer and personal reflection, needs to constantly ponder onhow God's call for a purpose is not a wrong act. To this moment, He still wishesus to grow and bear fruits His words. We need to always be aware of it and believein it in joy.Let us pray. In the name of the Father... Mein heutiger Gast im BB RADIO Mitternachtstalk Podcast ist schon fast ein Stammgast. Victoria Jancke schaut gefühlt alle zwei Jahre vorbei und bringt jedes Mal neue Geschichten mit. Geschichten aus zwei Welten: aus Berlin und Miami, aus Glamour und ganz viel echter Realität. Victoria ist Model, Schauspielerin, Unternehmerin, Speakerin, Miss Europe Germany 2025 und neuerdings auch Autorin. Ihr erstes Buch heißt „Grow & Glow“. Worum es darin geht und warum genau jetzt der richtige Zeitpunkt ist, das wird sie uns heute selbst erzählen. Vielleicht kennt ihr sie von großen Shootings für Vogue, GQ oder Calvin Klein, von Model-Agenturen in Miami, Los Angeles und New York oder sogar aus dem brasilianischen Fernsehen. Schon mit 16 wurde sie von L'Oréal entdeckt und startete ihre Modelkarriere. Aber Victorias Leben war nicht immer glamourös. Sie überlebte einen schweren Unfall, eine Krebsdiagnose, traumatische Erlebnisse und Depressionen. Ein Schutzengel war wohl immer dabei, als sie 2017 von einem Lkw angefahren wurde und ihr rechtes Bein zwischen Straße und Fahrzeug eingeklemmt wurde. 2021 kämpfte sie mit einem dunklen Tiefpunkt und einem Suizidversuch, doch sie hat sich aufgerappelt und daraus ihre Kraft gezogen. Genau diese Stärke zeigt sie heute und gibt sie weiter. Victoria nutzt ihre Reichweite von über einer Million Followern auf Instagram und 350.000 auf TikTok, um vor allem Frauen zu inspirieren, ihre Weiblichkeit zu leben und selbstbewusst durchs Leben zu gehen. Mit der Gründung ihres Unternehmens und ihren Grow & Glow-Frauenevents schafft sie Räume, in denen Frauen sich gegenseitig stärken, unterstützen und gemeinsam wachsen können. Aber auch Männer sind ausdrücklich eingeladen zuzuhören, zu lernen und zu verstehen, wie Frauen denken, fühlen und was sie brauchen. Ihr Buch und ihre Arbeit geben Männern wertvolle Einblicke, um Frauen besser zu verstehen und Beziehungen respektvoller und bewusster zu gestalten. Ogenj naj bi zanetile iskre tortnih fontan, pritrjenih na steklenice šampanjca, ki so jih preveč približali stropu. Ta se je zaradi akustične izolacije hitro vnel. V nesreči je umrlo 40 ljudi, številni so v kritičnem stanju. Večina je mladih, starih od 16 do 26 let. Na prošnjo Švice po pomoči pri zdravljenju hudo opečenih se je odzvalo več evropskih držav, tudi Slovenija. The begining and the end occur in history of life.God is eternal where the beginning and the end actually unites each other. Whenthe writer of the first Letter of John says that today is the last hour, heactually proclaims about God's own words to remind us of the history of ourlives on earth. The last moment inthe simplest understanding is related to a period of time that eventually endsat certain point of history and passes away. We use the measurement of timesuch as seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years. When a measureof time ends, it signifies the completion of an activity or life event and weusually say it as "time is over". Today, December 31st,we remember it as the last time or the last hour of 2025. The period of lifefrom the first seconds to the last seconds of the year 2025 will reach itsfinal point at 00:00 midnight. This entire day of today will be filled withvarious activities of individuals, families or communities that reflect oursense of gratitude and hope for the coming new year. But today's readingswant to teach us that our reflection on the last moment is not enough to takeinto account a period of events and activities in our lives. It is not enoughto contemplate life only on the surface, that is, today will pass and tomorrowwill come the next day. God actually reminds us that He is indeed above time. It is not time thatdetermines the fate of life that has a beginning and an end, but only God whodetermines it. An elderly man once said this expression: "Too bad I wasborn first, if I were born after I would have enjoyed all the conveniences andadvancements of this age." Then a teenager also said the following:"What makes me jealous is that adults are more mature and successful intheir endeavors." Both expressions fromthat somehow show regret are the examples of persons who see this life only amatter of time that defines one's life. This is a superficial attitude of lifeor an experience life only on the surface. For believers, life and its purposemust be deeper and aspire to reach the highest end. Our life and journey offaith must depend only on God. We mus become true disciples of the Lord and letHim guide us along the way to perfection. We must rely on God who determinesour lives today and tomorrow.Let's pray. In the name of the Father... There was a celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation in a remote parish. The bishop came to that parish one day before the celebration. Candidates for theSacrament of Confirmation weremore than 300 people. Most of them come from various villages which are locatedfar apart from one another. Theyare young people, the majority of whom are teenagers. They walked along pathsup the mountain and down the valley. They were willing to get caught in the rain andstruggle to tread slippery and muddy roads. Their new and clean clothes were wrapped in such a way so as not to getwet and dirty. They walked along the waybarefoot. Duringthe homily at Holy Mass, the Bishop encouraged all the young recipients of theSacrament of Confirmation, saying: “You have the Holy Spirit within you. ThisHoly Spirit does not stay silent or hide, but He really works and controlsyou.” All the young people who came from faraway villages agreed with what theshepherd said. The Spirit of God really burned their spirits from the momentthey departed from their respective villages until the time they received thesign of the anointing of the power of the Holy Spirit by the Bishop. TheHoly Spirit has power to fill the person who receives it and makes him amissionary. The fullness of the Holy Spirit is expressed by the first readingof the book of the prophet Isaiah today, which says that the Spirit of God gives him the Spirit of wisdom andunderstanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and piety, and the Spirit of fear of God. Those hundreds of young recipients of theSacrament of Confirmation and all of us who have been gifted with the HolySpirit on theoccasions of Sacrament of Confirmation in the past, are missionaries. We have received the HolySpirit who fills us, and we are sent to our respective places to be witnessesfor Christ. The world around us, especially those around us, have the right toreceive God's blessings through our good deeds that are full of love from the testimony of ourlives. Today'sreadings mention two basic legitimacy for someone who is sent. A messenger inthe ministry of word, sacrament, love and pastoral not in his own name, but inthe name of Jesus Christ and is filled with the Holy Spirit. To carry out thistask, he incarnates or unites with the local context and people where he livesand works. Thus his missionary spirit is real and true. Let's pray. In the name of theFather... The challenge was in honour of Jeff Hansen - a pillar of the trail and parkrun community who very sadly passed away from Leukemia. There is a general assumption that gives more negative impression thanpositive on the relationship between master and servant or boss andsubordinate. We normally see no equal and harmonious relationship between thetwo. All that is obvious to us is fear, hidden plan, extreme caution, and evenhatred. However, there was a middle-class businessman once shared his point ofview which is the opposite. He is the boss of his company. He and hundreds ofhis employees experience with each other the mutual trust and respect. There is joy, cooperation and mutual understandingbetween them. The presence of the boss among the employees is a blessing.Meanwhile, when the boss is absent for some times, all the employees will misshim. The boss, his wife and the entire family have been for them their fosterparents and family. One of the many fine attentions from this boss that all theemployees always remember is the solution given to each problem of everyemployee.  So the presence andintervention of the boss is highly anticipated. These employees can be seen in the same picture withthe joyful servants, narrated in the parable of the Gospel of today, who arewatchful while awaiting for their master to come at an unexpected moment. Thisis a reflection on God's people, that is, all of us, as we await the coming ofthe Lord Jesus Christ. We are sinners, but we have joy and priviledge towelcome the Lord Jesus, our Savior. So as people of faith, we have confidenceand readiness to welcome the Lord's coming that brings us salvation.  Saint Paul reminds us that sin entered the world whenAdam first fell into sin. As consequence, death also spreads to everyone. ButGod's love is far greater than sin and death. Where there is sin, there is evengreater mercy and love. Only one act of love of Jesus Christ, all mankindreceive the special gift of redeemtion and then obtain salvation. Faith leadsus to accept and make Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Our acts of vigilance and welcoming the Lord actuallycan happen any place and any time. The watchful servants are those who arehappy with the opportunity to meet the Lord who comes to their lives at anygiven situation. That experience can be at the moment of prayer, when the wordof God is heard, during the receiving of the sacraments, at the time of renewaland spiritual guidance and of course when one's own death comes. We are alwaysreminded not to loose all those opportunities because of our ignorance and unpreparedness.We just want to know that God pleases to come to us and we are happy to haveencounter with Him.Let us pray. Apollo Global Management (along with VICI Properties) struck a massive deal to acquire The Venetian Resort, Palazzo, and Sands Expo from Las Vegas Sands for about $6.25 billion. The deal split the real estate and operations: VICI bought the land and real estate assets (~$4 billion), while Apollo acquired the operating company. Apollo is responsible for running day-to-day operations including hotel rooms, casinos, dining, entertainment, and conventions. Seller financing and favorable lease terms with VICI were part of the structure, making it a complex transaction with shared responsibilitiesRegulators in Nevada approved Apollo's license to operate the properties, despite concerns tied to Apollo's past (notably its prior ownership of Caesars and founder Leon Black's controversies). Mit ihrem Wahlprogramm enttäuscht die SPD nicht, das hebt sie sich wahrscheinlich für später auf. Die Schuldenregel soll deutlich reformiert werden, um mehr Spielräume für Investitionen zu schaffen. Auch sollen sich die Bundesländer verschulden dürfen, was bislang nicht vorgesehen war. Zudem ist ein Deutschlandfonds in Höhe von 100 Milliarden Euro geplant. Steuerpolitisch setzt die SPD auf eine Umverteilung, von der die unteren 95 oder gar 99 Prozent profitieren würden. Dafür aber sollen Vermögens- und Erbschaftsteuern kommen, um beispielsweise die Bildung zu finanzieren und auszubauen. Mutig und beinahe radikal ist die Forderung, Kapitalerträge nicht mehr länger mit der Abgeltungssteuer von 25 Prozent, sondern nach dem Einkommenssteuertarif zu besteuern. Es ist aber auch ein sozialdemokratisches Programm, das sich in vielen Bereichen zu wenig traut: So bleiben die Versprechen für Studenten und Azubis klein und nebulös, auch staatliches Bauen wird es mit den Sozialdemokraten nicht geben.
