We're hopping in the time-traveling motorcycle on the road to WrestleMania with our classic coverage at The Undertaker and Triple H's first match in their triology BACK FROM THE DEAD at the top of your podcast feed! Originally released in December of 2018 as episode 71, It's WrestleMania X7, arguably the greatest WWE PPV of all tiz-iiiiime and Taker and HHH put on a wild brawl that goes all over the Astrodome. We'll cover a blood-soaked journey to the PPV and all the involvement from Stephanie McMahon, Kane, and even Motorhead. Plus we discuss the shocking news of the WCW purchase and how we reacted to it all back in 2001. Check it out and then be sure to join us on April 1st for a brand new episode as we look back WatchAlong style at the Boneyard Match from WrestleMania 36 between The Undertaker and AJ Styles!
This week on the show we obviously kick things off with the Cena heel turn. That was insane. From there we dip our toes into some history before covering the 3/1/01 Smackdown and the No Way Out PPV that preceded it. We have a new WWF Champion in The Rock and are embarking on the road to WrestleMania X7. Before that happens, there is another major event on the horizon... Then from there we just talked about a bunch of random topics. Enjoy!

WWF bought WCW last week and WWF WrestleMania X-7 happened last night. Stone Cold Steve Austin fought The Rock in the main event to win the WWF Championship! Mr. McMahon came out during the match to ensure that Austin walked away as the new champion. For the first time ever Stone Cold turned heel and joined forces with the boss Mr. McMahon. On this episode of WWF RAW The Rock demanded a rematch for the WWF Title by putting the boss in a sharpshooter. Vince gives him the match, inside a steel cage! During the march Triple H comes down, looking to help The Rock. However, he joins McMahon and Austin as he helps beat down The Rock inside the cage! The Two Man Power Trip was formed! This week on Drunk Wrestling History we are dipping our toes in Wrestlemania X7 with a watch along. The Gimmick Battle Royal was a bit of a blemish on the Wrestlemania card but it was a lot of fun to see some of the stars from the past again. It also marked the return of two of the all time greats, Bobby Heenan and Mean Gene. We are calling all the action on this episode and it was mostly entrances. We also have a question at the end that you might be able to help us answer. So have a drink with us and check it out. Cheers! It's April 1st, 2001; 'Angel' by Shaggy is the number one song in the land, 'Spy Kids' has taken over the cinemas and in the WWF, Houston… we have a problem. This is WWF WrestleMania X7! It's immediately following the announcement of WWE's purchase of WCW and the addition of Paul Heyman to the commentary team, giving it a completely different feel from the months leading up to it. Not to mention, the historic TLC II and the heel turn of Stone Cold during his main event match against The Rock.

Fretz talks about AEW, NXT and a little bit about Impact as well as the new Women's Tag Titles and what he would do instead. Then, while the Network still works in Canada (damn you Peacock!) Fretz reviews a monumental and historic Raw from March 18, 2001. The tag team titles are on the line twice and two former ECW stars make their debuts. Also, Shane McMahon challenges his father to a match at Wrestlemania X7 and Chris Jericho pees in William Regal's tea. Tart. Sit back, make a cup of tea (preferably without pee but we wont judge) and enjoy the show! It's 3:16 Day, and here at Ring the Bell we thought we would do our bit to celebrate this momentous occasion by bringing you a Flashback episode featuring one of the biggest matches in the career of Stone Cold Steve Austin! Originally released in December 2018, RtB Commentary goes back to April 2001 in Houston, Texas for the point many consider the end of the Attitude Era, where everything changed forever and Stone Cold sided with Satan himself...it's Austin vs The Rock from WrestleMania X7! Thank you for listening, if you've enjoyed this show please subscribe to us and leave a rating and a review if you feel we have earned it. And while you're at it, why don't you go ahead and 'like' us on Facebook and 'follow' us on Twitter and Instagram? Fretz reviews AEW Revolution and for the most part, it was a great show. It just kind of fizzled out at the end. After setting off the Canada Day sparklers, Fretz plugs in his PS1 memory card into the year 2001. It's March 11, 2001 and Raw is emanating from Los Angeles (in Stone Cold Podcast voice). The road to Wrestlemania X7 is getting clearer, tension is building between The Rock and Stone Cold and Vince McMahon promises to have a Hollywood sex scene in the ring, while Edge takes a mental note. Elsewhere, The Hardy Boyz defend the tag titles against X-Factor, Chris Benoit takes out the Radicalz and we enter the first week of the Regal Regime as William Regal is named Commissioner of the WWE. Taking nominations from you, the loyal listeners (!), we discuss everything from the obvious and glaring candidates, such as Steve Austin at WrestleMania X7, Rikishi doing it for The Rock, Goldberg at GAB 2000 and the disasterous Hogan/Flair double-turn of 1999, to the personal and obscure choice that have plauged your wrestling fandom, including Tatanka joining the Million Dollar Corporation, Dusty Rhodes joining the nWo, Eugene's two week stint as the hateable special needs grappler, Heel Godfather from 2002, Ahmed Johnson joining the Nation before being booted out weeks later, Brother Bruti becoming The Butcher, "Nature Boy" AJ Styles, Michael Cole and so many more. A fun show as always, let us know what you think!

What a difference one week can make. Exactly one week prior to to this event , there were 3 major American wrestling companies, and now there's only one left, as WWE gears up for their 17th annual mega event. Oh, and it just so happens to be the greatest of all time, as WU covers Wrestlemania X7.When your top four stars are featured in the 2 feature matches, being The Undertaker vs. HHH 1 and Rock/Austin 2, plus huge matches like TLC2, and Angle vs. Benoit, it's no wonder this event is held in such high regard. However, the question remains... will Vince McMahon be left as the April Fool when he takes on Shane in a street fight? And of, course take time after the review for our cash and trash. What moment will be flying high after this event like WWF? And what moment will be stuck without a job like WCW?All of this and more as WU covers one of the greatest Pay Per Views of all time in Wrestlemania X7------------ Time Stamps ----------(7:30-2:03:25) Wrestlemania X-7 Review The Entire Card(2:03:25-2:10:30) Best & Worst Match(2:10:30-2:22:00) Cash & Trash(2:22:00-End) Final Rating for the Show

It's been an interesting two pay-per-views since WrestleMania X7, but things are picking up with King of the Ring 2001. The WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin now must fend off both Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho, while Shane McMahon, the owner of WCW, goes one on one with Kurt Angle who also happens to be trying to repeat as King of the Ring. The podcast returns to 2001 to look at the aftermath of WrestleMania X7 or sometimes a forgotten pay-per-view known as Backlash 2001. How has the Steve Austin heel turn done thus far? He who has the gold has it all in this main event as the WWF Champion Austin and IC Champ Triple H battle the WWF Tag Team Champions, Undertaker and Kane. McMahonamania continues for the second year in a row with Vince vs. Shane, and the Dudley's, Edge & Christian and the Hardy's raise the bar of SummerSlam 2000 with TLC 2 for the World Tag Team Titles.
