Consistency is the key to success in any sport and without a doubt Duke has been pretty darned consistent in hoops. The same hasn't been the case in football which has seemed like an after thought in years past. Times change and the need to be successful on the field as well as the court go hand in hand. Mike Elko helped move the program out of the 'it's just good enough' phase and now Manny Diaz is upping the game. Special guest, Conor O'Neill the publisher of Devils Illustrated joins ACC Nation to provide a preview of the upcoming season. O'Neill points out that Diaz is moving the offense from a limited delivery system into one that will keep defenses on their toes. Find out why Tulane QB transfer Darian Mensah along with select players from the portal will begin moving Duke into the upper tier of the conference. Duke Depth and experience are key factors on the defensive side of the ball as well. It takes time recruiting and dipping into the Transfer Portal to bring a solid product together. Last year's record of 9-4 may be more of a challenge to match as most of the ACC is also building programs of note but it will be clear to fans and definitely opponents that the Blue Devils have chosen not to snooze. Conor O Shea is a mobility coach. He is also the host of the Strong For Life podcast and with over 230k followers on Instagram, he helps people over 30 feel a decade younger whilst moving pain free. He spent most of his 20s struggling with chronic pain that affected him so badly at times I considered leaving the fitness industry because he was worried, I couldn't do his job anymore. He left Ireland in 2013 and sought out the best coaches in the world. He learned from the yogis in Mysore and the best callisthenics, mobility and flexibility coaches who were super fit in their 50s and 60s. He began to understand that his body was riddled with injuries and how to rebuild himself from the ground up. Here are some of the things we talked about in today's show: · Five essential movements include squats, ground sitting, and toe touching. · Chronic pain can be addressed through consistent mobility practices. · Ground sitting is a simple yet effective daily practice. · Environmental design can encourage more movement throughout the day. · Flexibility training should be strength-focused to avoid injuries. · Common complaints include low back, knee, and shoulder issues. · Strengthening the back and stretching the front can alleviate many problems. · Mobility practices should be integrated into daily routines. · Injury management requires working around pain to maintain strength. Whoo boy, another crazy busy day in our world... Somehow it's fitting that today marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day. And since I took the day off yesterday, there's so much to cover before Howie Klein joins in at the bottom of the hour, today joined by Conor O'Callaghan, who's running for Congress in AZ 01. An appeals court in GA put a hold on the Fani Willis case against Trump as he can't decide whether or not she should be removed from the case for having an affair with a prosecutor in her office, Senate Republicans tanked a bill codifying women's rights to birth control(!), the MAGAt House sent criminal referrals for Hunter Biden and James Biden, while Hunter Biden's trial on gun charges continues in Delaware. Two MAGAts were added to the House Intelligence Committee by the MAGAt speaker. And Boeing successfully launched a manned rocket headed for the International Space Station. At least none of the doors fell out. And, oh yeah, Steve Bannon is headed back to jail for four months after he was found guilty of ignoring a subpoena from the Jan. 6 Committee. report to jail on July 1st, just in time to miss the Republican National convention.
