With a tear...in our eyes...this is the greatest podcast of our lives! This was the first time the WWF Title was put on the line in the 30-man Royal Rumble match and it featured an all-star lineup of superstars! The favorites going in were Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and Sid Justice. That all came to a head at the end of the match as Ric Flair proved to be the iron man we always knew he was. Also on the card, we get a match that was about 4x too long with the Bushwhackers taking on the Beverly Brothers, the LOD put the Tag Titles on the line against the Natural Disasters as those big, meaty men slap meat, Roddy Piper goes for his first title ever in the WWF as the Mountie puts his newly won IC Title on the line, and more! In the news, we talk about Jim Herd being ousted from WCW, the steroid scandal effecting the WWF, the birth of ECW, the Nasty Boys getting stabbed in a road rage incident, and much more! In December of 1997, it wasn't Vader Time...but it was time. Time for what? Time for Sid vs. Bret Hart for the WWF Title! While this show wasn't a complete crapper with no redeeming qualities, it certainly won't go down as a great show, by any means. This is the final stop before Shawn Michaels wins the WWF Title back from Sid in his hometown, at the Alamodome, at Royal Rumble 1997. On top of that, Hunter Hearst Helmsley defends the Intercontinental Title against "Wildman" Marc Mero, the fake Razor Ramon and Diesel get a Tag-Team Title shot at Owen Hart and British Bulldog, The Undertaker and the Executioner have a weird take on a Texas Deathmatch, and more! In the news, we discuss what's going on in the Mexican wrestling scene, WCW racing to sign the best luchadores before WWF poaches them, the upcoming Shotgun Saturday Night WWF show, another wrestling organization goes under, and much more!ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET FUELED WITH SHOCKED ENERGY: https://shockedenergy.com/collections/all?sca_ref=1814354.mOXH7RrwKh&sca_source=MainEventMarks (promo code: MainEvent for 10% off)KEEP YOUR COFFEE GIMMICK FREE AND FRESH ROASTED TO ORDER WITH COFFEE BRAND COFFEE: https://coffeebrandcoffee.com/?ref=WC7vE0tK (promo code: MAINEVENT for 5% off)GET AWESOME SPORTS T-SHIRTS: intheclutch.com/MAINEVENT (use code "MAINEVENT" for 10% off)ORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS

2000 was a crazy time in the wrestling world. Mike Awesome defected to WCW, however he was still the ECW World Champion. Facing legal action from Paul Heyman, Mike Awesome had to appear at an ECW event and defend the ECW Championship against Tazz, who was working for WWF at the time! This was the one and only time a WWF Superstar wrestled a WCW wrestler at an ECW show. Tazz, now ECW Champion, showed up on SmackDown! and challenged the WWF Champion Triple H to a match! Speaking of Triple H, we are shortly removed from the night that Chris Jericho beat Triple H for the WWF Championship. Triple H bullied Earl Hebner to reverse the decision and Triple H regained his WWF Title. The Rock will challenge Triple H coming up at WWF Backlash and Linda McMahon appointed Stone Cold Steve Austin to be in The Rock's corner to help even the odds. The tournament would play host to one of the greatest nights in the career of Bret Hart as he faced Razor Ramon, Mr Perfect and Bam Bam Bigelow over the course of the night to take the crown and prove himself, by far and away, the best wrestler in the WWF. On the same evening, Hulk Hogan would make his last pay-per-view appearance for the company for 9 years, when he faced Yokozuna in a match for the WWF Title.  The Random Wrestling Review is this week brought to you by Old Man, Matt and Tinky.

Coming out of WrestleMania I, we had Saturday Night's Main Event debuting on NBC in May of 1985! These shows were always structured weird, and this one was the first one to do so. The "main event" was actually the second match on the show, with Hulk Hogan defending the WWF Title against "Cowboy" Bob "Ace" Orton. Wendi Richter also puts her WWF Ladies Wrestling Title on the line against the legendary Fabulous Moolah while Cyndi Lauper cheers her on. The show also takes place on Mother's Day, so we get a lot of special stuff going on to celebrate mothers (oddly enough, Mr. T doesn't talk about his mama). In the news, we also talk for almost an hour about the state of the territories in the United States as well as wrestling abroad in Japan and in Mexico.
