Celebrating Dietitians Week 2021 by Australian Diabetes Educators Association
Join our host Jan Alford as she is joined by Accredited Practising Dietitian and Certified EFT Practitioner Renee Hrudicka. They will be discussing EFT or tapping and how health professionals, in particular dietitians are using it in routine consults. Renee has been an Accredited Practising Dietitian for the past 10 years. She has worked in hospital, community health and private practice settings. She has provided nutrition support for wide scope of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and kidney disease. Sue Lynn Lau is an endocrinologist at Westmead Hospital and Blacktown-Mt Druitt Hospital in Sydney and a senor lecturer with Sydney University and Western Sydney University. Sue Lynn Lau will discuss SGLT-2 Inhibitors and recent literature. Learning outcomes: The learner will be able to describe how SGLT2 inhibitors work. The listener will be able to recognise potential side effects and potential benefits of SGLT2 inhibitors. The learner will be able to recognise the link between SGLT2 inhibitors and prevention of cardiovascular and renal outcomes in people with type 2 diabetes.
Will Bonney was diagnosed with Type 1 at age 14 and has been living with diabetes for 38 years. In that time, he has seen many improvements in the tools and approaches to managing diabetes and is always open to new developments and regime changes. Will is married with two teenage children, and has a career spanning corporate finance, medical research (including at JDRF) and now is a psychotherapist based in the Sydney CBD. In this podcast, Will describes some of his journey with diabetes and his experience with Ryzodeg. Kim has participated and volunteered at children’s diabetes camps, led peer support groups and been a Patient Teacher Associate at Monash and Deakin University. Kim has spent the last 14 years of her career working in consumer engagement at Diabetes Victoria. Kim currently works with Diabetes Victoria as the consumer advisor and families program co-ordinator.
