In this episode of Grounding AI, Donna Peterson shares practical ways leaders can use artificial intelligence to help industry associations work smarter while building stronger member relationships. You will learn how AI can help organizations: • Review and repurpose existing content • Improve outdated webinars, presentations, and educational materials • Create stronger member surveys • Generate better event ideas based on member interests • Identify new audience segments for membership growth • Build stronger engagement through more personalized experiences The goal is not replacing human relationships. Most people jump into AI too quickly. They open ChatGPT, type a question, and expect a perfect answer immediately. But when the response feels too broad or generic, they assume AI simply does not work for them or their industry. In this episode of Grounding AI, Donna Peterson shares why better AI results actually begin before the prompt itself. After presenting and moderating AI roundtables at the Women in Finishing Forum, Donna noticed a common pattern. Whether people were brand new to AI or using it every day, many were still unsure if they were using it effectively. This episode walks through four important questions every leader and team member should ask before using AI tools: Why do I want to use AI? What do I want to use it for? What goals should this support? How will I use AI collaboratively instead of treating it like a search engine? Donna also explains: Why AI works best as a conversation How to get more personalized and industry-specific responses Why relationship-building should still stay at the center of communication How to guide AI without letting it take your work in the wrong direction A simple exercise that can dramatically improve your prompts immediately If AI responses have ever felt too generic, this episode will help you rethink how you approach prompting and collaboration. Action Step: Before your next prompt, write this sentence first: “I want to use AI to help me __ so I can __.” Then continue asking questions until the response truly aligns with your goals. !! How can you capture and nurture leads consistently if your team resists using a CRM? Many leaders invest heavily in systems like HubSpot or Salesforce expecting consistency, visibility, and growth. But the reality is, not every strong relationship builder on your team wants to use those systems. In this episode, Donna Peterson shares a practical, real-world workflow using ChatGPT to bridge that gap. This is not about replacing your CRM. It's about supporting your team in a way that feels natural to them, while still creating structure, consistency, and follow-through. If you've ever walked away from a great trade show conversation and lost momentum after one email, this episode gives you a clear, repeatable system to fix that. Key Takeaways: CRM resistance is not a discipline issue, it's often a workflow issue Relationship builders need tools that match how they naturally work Speed and personalization matter more than perfect data entry Follow-up consistency is what turns conversations into revenue AI works best when it supports human connection, not replaces it The 6-Step ChatGPT Lead Workflow: Capture the Lead: Take a photo of a business card, directory, or list and upload it into ChatGPT. Capture the Conversation: Use voice notes to record details immediately after the meeting. Include both business needs and personal details to humanize follow-up. Create a Personalized Follow-Up: Ask ChatGPT to draft a grounded, value-driven email focused on helping the recipient—not selling. Build a Follow-Up Plan: This is where most opportunities are lost. Use ChatGPT to map out next touchpoints so relationships don't fade. Keep It Searchable: Store everything in a structured ChatGPT project so you can instantly recall conversations and context. Sync Back to Your CRM: Export structured data (CSV format) and upload into your CRM when needed—without slowing down your workflow. Why This Matters for Leaders: You reduce friction for high-performing team members You improve follow-up speed and quality You maintain relationship ownership while still capturing data You create a system people will actually use This approach respects how people work while still driving accountability and growth. Action You Can Take Today: After your next meeting or event, record a 30-second voice note summarizing the conversation and ask ChatGPT to draft a follow-up email. That one step alone will improve your consistency immediately. *** Reach out to dpeterson@worldinnovators.comif you'd like help building a marketing strategy that builds relationships and/or AI training for individuals or full teams.*** Visit www.worldinnovators.comfor more resources on building stronger marketing and leadership strategies.*** Subscribe to the Grounding AI podcast for weekly insights into marketing, leadership, and the future of AI.

Leadership and Cultural Differences with Dawn Stallwood Dawn Stallwood is a Corporate Counsel, Chief Integrity Officer, and the author of Beautiful Leadership, known for her work at the intersection of governance, power, and people. With nearly three decades of experience, she has advised founders, boards, and senior executives across industries and international markets on complex deals, business growth, crisis management, and long-term legacy. Her expertise is particularly relevant in today's global environment, where leadership and cultural differences increasingly shape how organizations succeed or fail. Before founding her current platform, Dawn was a partner at a UK Top 100 law firm and became one of only 770 Notaries Public in the United Kingdom. This background gives her a rare combination of legal precision and strategic insight. Over the years, she has worked with leadership teams navigating not only high-stakes decisions but also the challenges that arise from leadership and cultural differences in multinational settings. Today, Dawn leads Floodlight Business, an integrity-driven platform designed to help leaders build resilient, human-centered organizations. Her work focuses on aligning commercial success with ethical leadership, a balance that is often overlooked in traditional corporate environments. In a world where businesses operate across borders, understanding leadership and cultural differences is no longer optional—it is essential for maintaining trust, cohesion, and performance. At the core of her work is the Beautiful Leadership framework, a proprietary approach that redefines what effective leadership looks like. Rather than focusing solely on results or authority, Dawn emphasizes intention, empathy, and service. This perspective is particularly relevant in organizations dealing with leadership and cultural differences, where misalignment can lead to conflict, inefficiency, and lost opportunities. Her framework equips leaders to navigate these complexities with clarity and integrity. Dawn's approach is also forward-looking. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries, she argues that character will become a defining factor in leadership effectiveness. Technical skills and competence remain important, but they are no longer sufficient on their own. Leaders must also demonstrate emotional intelligence and cultural awareness, especially when managing diverse teams. This is where leadership and cultural differences play a critical role, influencing communication, decision-making, and overall organizational culture. Through her advisory work, speaking engagements, and writing, Dawn challenges leaders to rethink their approach. She encourages them to move beyond transactional leadership models and adopt a more human-centered mindset. Her message is clear: organizations that take leadership and cultural differences seriously are better positioned to adapt, innovate, and sustain long-term success. In summary, Dawn Stallwood brings a distinctive voice to modern leadership. By combining deep legal expertise with a strong focus on integrity and human dynamics, she helps leaders navigate complexity in a globalized world. Her work is particularly valuable for organizations seeking to bridge leadership and cultural differences and build cultures that are both high-performing and ethically grounded. Her tip to become more culturally competent is: Make sure you have the right set of hearing aids and contact lenses; it's about tuning in to the other person. To see the things that were meant to be seen and to hear the things that were meant to be heard. Drawing on decades of experience, he outlines practical frameworks for aligning strategy with mindset, demonstrating why mastering investing and cultural differences is essential in a globalized financial landscape. His tips to become more culturally competent are: Listen to the other person (we're both Dutch and we're right), keep your mouth shut. Keep your own opinion to yourself. "If you ask me..." but nobody wants to hear this, and nobody is asking you. Look for a life partner outside your own country. It will give you a wealth of experience. She works with ambitious business owners — from family-run firms to $100M+ enterprises — to strengthen strategy, realign leadership, and build cultures that drive innovation and performance. Combining sharp strategy with a deep grasp of human behavior, she helps leaders simplify complexity and leverage cultural differences to unlock what's next. After 20 years in the corporate world, he now focuses on helping leaders and teams unlock their full potential. His approach highlights the critical link between leadership and culture, showing how trust, empathy, and consistency drive real performance. By breaking down barriers to teamwork and blending strong leadership and culture, Adam empowers organizations to thrive under pressure. For him, success means building a resilient workplace where leadership and culture inspire lasting change. Adam's tips to become more culturally aware are: Ask about processes, don't ask about people. "Can you explain to me how this fits in your work process?" Listen for what people are not saying. By Adam Turteltaub Ahmed Salim wants you to change how you approach change.  An active consultant to the compliance community and Healthcare Compliance & Regulations Adjunct Professor at DePaul University, he is passionate about following a disciplined approach to change management.  Not surprisingly then, he's the author of a new book from the SCCE & HCCA:  Mastering Compliance Through Change Management. In this podcast he explains that the concepts behind change management are simple.  It contains 8 critical steps: Vision and strategy Building leadership and sponsorship Communications and awareness Training and acceptability building Implementation and reinforcement. Continuous monitoring and improvement Sustaining the change Feedback and adaptation. So what are the keys to success along the way?  First, have a vision and strategy you want.  Second, get leadership and senior management buy in.  Third, effective communication because if people don't know about the change, what's the point.  Fourth, continuous monitoring to ensure that you are making the progress you want, and if you aren't why. To all that I would add two more keys:  listen in to learn more about how to make change management a part of your compliance program.  Then, get your copy of Mastering Compliance Through Change Management.
