Most people talk about space power like it's a solved problem. Big arrays, rigid panels, high-efficiency silicon; the same architecture we've been flying for decades.  But the more you look at where national security and commercial space are headed, the clearer it becomes: our power systems weren't designed for the missions we're trying to execute today. Space is no longer a passive environment. It's dynamic, congested, competitive, and increasingly contested. If you're operating a satellite that needs to reposition, evade, maneuver, or maintain persistent awareness over the oceans, every kilogram of mass and every square inch of surface area starts to matter. Traditional solar arrays generate plenty of power, but they come with a hidden cost: fragility, deployment complexity, and a form factor that locks spacecraft into decisions they can't easily undo. Thin-film solar panels change that. When you can generate meaningful power without rigid wings. When your power source can be wrapped around a body, integrated into a surface, or rolled out without fear of shattering, Maneuverability becomes an asset instead of a liability.  High-radiation orbits are more viable, high-voltage architectures make sense, and persistent maritime sensing becomes more realistic. A recently published paper led by an Oregon State University researcher suggests that installing floating solar panels on top of existing reservoirs could have a variety of positive results. Those include cooling the solar panels, allowing for greater energy generation from those panels, and preventing the water in shallower reservoirs from warming to temperatures that are challenging for fish and other aquatic life. According to lead researcher Evan Bredeweg, there are relatively few of these kinds of installations in the U.S., but in countries that have embraced solar and non-fossil fuel energy, they are relatively common. Bredeweg joins us to tell us more about the study and the potential floating solar has for wide-scale adoption.

The second is a Real Estate Scam using Facebook and a wire transfer that defrauds a couple out of $98,000.00 , preventing them from ever retiring and most likely dying in poverty. The final scam is an impersonation scam where the scammer pretends to be the famous actor Bfad Pitt and amazingly able to defraud the victim out of $850,000.00 their entire life's savings and condemning the victim to die alone in poverty.

-When fully stretched out on a sunny day, Nissan's solar panel system can add about 1,864 miles of driving distance a year and power multiple accessories. The panel works whether you're driving or parked. -The Competition Appeal Tribunal ruled that the iPhone maker abused its dominant market position to inflate developer fees. The tribunal found that the company has "near absolute market power" for iOS app distribution and in-app payments. The decision declared that Apple has been "abusing its dominant position by charging excessive and unfair prices." -Strava's big attack on Garmin didn't last long.
