Sgt. 1st class Black and Cadet Ortiz explore the mental and physical aspects that come along with being a part of the ROTC program. Ortiz opens with his day to day obstacles, the Ranger challenge team, and what hurdles he has to overcome as the head of his team. The pair discuss how Ortiz applies kinesiology courses and workouts to aid in his and his team’s success, in and out of the classroom.
Dr. Andy Wolfe and Colonel Lee Evans discuss the relationship between Tarleton Kinesiology and the Tarleton ROTC program. The two discuss their collaborations such as preparing the ROTC cadets for the ranger challenge. The benefits both cadets and the kinesiology trainers gain comes from closely working together with one another to prepare for their futures.
Ms. Stephanie Nelson and Ms. Melissa Evans discuss the benefits of Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Ms. Nelson talks about how to register for Catapult and earn Blue Points. Catapult is part of the Texas 2 Step and is available on March 17th and March 18th.
Ben Edlebeck is one of the two Graduate Assistants working in the Laboratory for Wellness and Motor Behavior. Ben talks about how his time being a Resident Leader helped him during his undergraduate years. Ben also talks about how the lab functions as well as the wide variety of clients that they work with on a daily basis.
Dr. Collin Pennington, the only full time professor at Tarleton Fort Worth, talks about his roles and responsibilities at the new campus. Dr. Pennington also discusses how Kinesiology is special and not just one concentration but a whole group that come together under the name Kinesiology.
Dr. Joe Priest, a professor in the School of Kinesiology, has been at Tarleton for 29 years and has made his mark on the University. Priest discusses the uniqueness of the Laboratory for Wellness and Motor Behavior and how there is no other facility like it in the country. He hopes that the younger generations will be able to witness the miracles happening at Tarleton and go recreate the work somewhere else.
Dr. Kayla Peak and Dr. Jarrod Schenewark discuss the benefits of traveling to France to study abroad with the Tarleton School of Kinesiology. Dr. Peak also talks about her time in previous study abroad trips and how they have changed her life.
Future double alumn, Brittany Woods, talks about her time before she got to Tarleton and her time as a Texan. Woods is currently a graduate assistant in the School of Kinesiology and in pursuit of a career in facility management.
Dr. Andrew Wolfe, a triple alumni of Tarleton’s School of Kinesiology, talks about his time as a Tarleton athlete and student. He also touches on the benefits of performing research in one’s college career. Dr. Wolfe touches on the Kinesiology Research Organization and the opportunities it provides to students.
Chuck Stein, an alumni of Tarleton's School of Kinesiology, talks about his journey to becoming a Division I referee. He also discusses his current job at Tarleton and what he does. Stein is joined by another Tarleton professor, Chet Martin, who also referees on the side. Martin and Stein have been calling games together for several years now.
Elianne Douglas-Miron, an alumnus from Tarleton’s School of Kinesiology, discusses the route she took to become the head tennis coach at Tarleton State. She also talks a little bit about her time spent working with the kinesiology staff and employees.
