Hello, it's Adam here from the Tudor Chest. This weeks episode is going to be a bit different, as this week, prepare to get to know me a bit better as I discuss my life, my love of history and of course, some of my opinions......
High on a hillside above the River Esk in Cumbria stands one of the oldest occupied houses in England. Muncaster Castle has been home to the Pennington family for over 800 years. A king once sheltered here after losing his throne. A cruel jester named Tom Fool once stalked its grounds. A young carpenter was beheaded in its stables. A housemaid was murdered on the road outside its main gate. And in a quiet room at the end of a first floor corridor, where dark tapestries hang from the walls and iron fire dogs shaped like devils' heads guard the fireplace, an academic named James Cartland heard something in 1988 that he would never be able to explain. The sound of a child crying. The soft voice of a woman singing. And the slow realisation that the room he was sleeping in had once been a nursery, where a little girl had died over a century before.Become a Patreon or Apple + subscriber now for ealry and ad free access from as little as $1.69 a week. In this episode, Pastor Aaron Pennington teaches on the Holy Spirit and the importance of having a balanced, biblical understanding of His role in our lives. The Holy Spirit seals believers for salvation, convicts us of sin, guides us into truth, glorifies Jesus, and gives gifts to build up the church. Pastor Aaron also talks honestly about unhealthy extremes, spiritual manipulation, and how followers of Jesus can pursue the Spirit's presence with humility, wisdom, and biblical clarity.Scripture References: John 16:7-15, Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 8:9-11, 1 Corinthians 12-14, Acts 2, John 3, Exodus 12.This message is part of our series, “Tell Me More About…”Trace ChurchColorado Springs, CO
Most women founders never sell the business they built. Alisha Pennington wants to change that, and she says the block is not financial literacy. It is identity. In this episode, I sit down with Alisha Pennington, founder of Exette and a consultant who scaled and sold her own multi-seven-figure staffing agency. Only about 1% of female founders ever exit, and Alisha breaks down why: a lack of women we can point to who have done it, and the emotional attachment that keeps us holding on long after the business stops serving us.We get into the idea that your business is an asset, not your baby. We talk about building for optionality from day one, what "be ready so you don't have to get ready" actually looks like, and her vision for women buying and selling businesses to each other instead of letting them quietly disappear. If you are building toward a million and wondering what comes after, this one is worth your time.Chapters:

Comedian Matt Pennington returns to If This Doesn't Work… for a conversation that somehow moves from internet arguments and dispensary customers to childhood Adderall, getting arrested with mushrooms, cocaine heart-rate experiments, fear of looking cringey, and one of the best period-sex analogies ever told.Matt talks about working at a dispensary, why “sativa versus indica” does not tell the whole story, sitting in the front seat of a police car after being caught with mushrooms, growing up medicated for ADHD, and watching someone attempt an absolutely irresponsible amount of cocaine in a single sniff. We also get into sovereign citizens, internet rage bait, drug-fueled art, Bill Hicks, Bill Burr, Patrice O'Neal, local comedy, and why some comedians would rather post nothing than risk looking embarrassing for ten seconds.Follow Matt Pennington on social media and support live comedy in Baltimore.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mattpenning10/X: https://x.com/mattpenning10Threads: https://www.threads.com/@mattpenning10YouTube: @MattPenningtonTSRSubscribe to If This Doesn't Work… for full conversations, stand-up stories, bad decisions, and occasional evidence that the internet was a mistake.Follow the Podcast:
Have you ever felt spiritually disconnected from God? In this message from Tell Me More About…, Pastor Aaron Pennington teaches on the fear of the Lord and why it matters for every follower of Jesus. The fear of the Lord is not about being scared of God. It is about living with deep honor, reverence, awe, and love for Him, where we fear being far from Him more than anything else. Through Scripture, Pastor Aaron shows how a healthy fear of the Lord leads us toward wisdom, holiness, repentance, surrender, and a deeper awareness of God's presence.Scripture References:James 4:8James 4:5-8Psalm 139:17-18Proverbs 9:10Hebrews 1:1-3Romans 2:4Matthew 11:282 Corinthians 7:1Hebrews 12:28-29Psalm 25:11-14

In this UC Today interview, host Kristian McCann speaks with Callum Pennington, CEO & Co-Founder of HBHR, to unpack a growing issue facing modern organizations: employee wellbeing that's treated as a bolt-on rather than a business-critical priority. If you think wellbeing is about perks, think again. This discussion reveals why the fundamentals—like accurate pay, workload visibility, and unified data—are the real drivers of trust, engagement, and retention. Pennington joins UC Today to explain why organizations need to rethink how they approach wellbeing from the ground up.Key points:
Aliens, UFOs, UAPs, and the unseen realm. In this message from Tell Me More About…, Pastor Aaron Pennington helps us approach one of the most talked-about topics of our time through a Biblical lens. Instead of responding with fear, obsession, or dismissal, followers of Jesus are called to think spiritually and Biblically.Scripture teaches that we live in both a physical and spiritual world. Because of that, we need discernment, wisdom, and a deep grounding in God's Word so we aren't easily deceived. This message is a reminder that no matter what conversations are happening in culture, our hope stays fixed on Jesus.
Pastor Aaron Pennington kicks off our new series, Tell Me More About…, with a message on singleness, dating, marriage, and what it means to be complete in Christ. In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul refers to singleness as a gift. For many, that may not be the first word that comes to mind. But this message challenges us to rethink singleness, not as second place, but as a season where God can shape identity, security, purpose, and devotion.Whether you're single, dating, engaged, married, or walking with someone who is, this message offers biblical wisdom for relationships, boundaries, identity, and doing things God's way.Marriage is good, but it is not God. Only Christ can complete us. When we understand who we are and whose we are, every relationship in our life becomes healthier because of it.Scripture References:1 Corinthians 7Colossians 2:6–10John 15:13Trace Church | Colorado Springs, CO
Who is God? The nature and the character of God form the foundation of how we view Him, so it is integral that we, as Christians, understand what God says about Himself. Ava Pennington says that without understanding this, a Christian's foundation is shaky and runs the risk of moving in the wrong direction. Ava is a Bible teacher, author, and speaker who has spent tremendous time studying the many names and attributes of God. She emphasizes studying who God says He is, not what the world says He is or who we think He should be. In her devotional, Reflections on the Name of God, she asks three key questions: what does God say about Himself, how do God's attributes change our relationship with Him, and how does it change our relationships with other people? TAKEAWAYS We often approach God based on who we THINK He should be, not who He IS When we use Jesus's name in prayer, we should do so with the utmost reverence and respect Why not take God at His own Word? He's proven Himself faithful and true Understand the tactics of the enemy, but more importantly, understand God's perspective and His words
What kind of foundation are you building your life on?In this message, Pastor Aaron Pennington concludes our Sermon on the Mount series by teaching through Matthew 7:24–29. Jesus tells the story of two builders: one who built on rock and one who built on sand. Both heard the same words, but only one put them into practice. This sermon challenges us to move beyond spiritual complacency, good intentions, and consumer Christianity, and to become people who don't just hear the words of Jesus but live them out.Pastor Aaron also speaks to Trace Church about unity, ownership, generosity, and what it means to build a stronger foundation as a church for the future.Scripture References:Matthew 7:24–29Psalm 1John 17Trace Church | Colorado Springs, CONew episodes every week.
Pennington's book GUT PUNCH: A CAREGIVER'S LIFE AFTER NORMAL discusses his experiences diving into the world of cancer care for his wife Wendi's well being, and though her story continues with news of remission, Paul found himself unable to function as he once had. Pennington's book focuses on such an important topic that is rarely discussed.

In this message, Pastor Aaron Pennington teaches on the importance of encouraging the men in your life and calls men to become strong, godly, faithful leaders who follow Christ with courage and conviction. This sermon explores biblical masculinity, Christian manhood, encouragement, spiritual responsibility, marriage, father wounds, healing, and the role encouragement plays in helping men become who God has called them to be. Title: Blessed is he who is not offended in meSpeaker: Brian PenningtonDate: 8th April 2026Location: Adelaide, Australia This episode reflects on how Jesus spoke the truth plainly, even when it offended the religious leaders of His day. In Mark 7 and Matthew 15, the contrast is clear: the Pharisees were committed to outward tradition, while Jesus looked directly at the heart and exposed hypocrisy. The message then turns to the Syrophoenician woman, whose persistence and faith stood in sharp contrast to those who rejected the truth. Though tested, she kept pressing toward Jesus, trusting that He alone had the answer. The episode highlights the need to love the truth, stand on the Word of God, and refuse to be offended by the full gospel. 3 Key Points or Takeaways Jesus did not soften the truth to avoid offending those who were hardened in tradition. Real faith keeps pressing toward the Lord, even when tested. The gospel calls for obedience, submission to God’s Word, and a refusal to compromise. Moonlight Mile proudly and intentionally is a reality check for mainstream country and fedora-wearing folk country hipster posers alike. Moonlight Mile is a voice for those many impoverished and destitute in rural Appalachia, gripped by the sting of addiction, brow-beaten by fanatical religiosity, and oppressed by fascist regimes. An Americana bluegrass band from Sandy Hook, Kentucky, they're forging a sound that blends Appalachi-an roots with modern storytelling and heartfelt grit. Formed in 2021 and fronted by songwriter and vocalist Jonathan Pennington, the group draws on the deep musical heritage of Eastern Kentucky while embracing a wide range of influences—from traditional bluegrass harmonies to the alternative rock and psychedelic sounds that shaped Pennington's upbringing.Born of long summer evenings and back-road reflections, Moonlight Mile's music speaks to life in rural Appalachia: the beauty and struggle, the pride and pain. They write with an honest voice and a sense of purpose, tackling themes like community, hardship, and resilience with songs that feel both personal and universal. Their work has shared stages with artists across the Americana and country spectrum, including Wynonna Judd, Dwight Yoakam, The Infamous Stringdusters, and 49 Winchester—a testament to the band's wide appeal and deep musical roots. With releases that include the Kentucky Bourbon EP and tracks like “Honey,” Moonlight Mile showcases rich instrumentation—banjo, fiddle, and guitar weaving through stories caught between past and present. Their first full-length album captivates listeners with authentic narratives grounded in the landscapes and legacies of Appalachia.Whether on festival stages or intimate venues, Moonlight Mile brings a fresh voice to Kentucky's storied musical tradition—one that honors the past while charting a course into the future of Americana and blue-grass.

What happens when the thing you built for God… isn't actually centered on God? In this powerful episode of the Eyes on Jesus Podcast, Tim sits down with Pastor Dustin Pennington to unpack a raw and honest journey from ministry success to spiritual surrender. From the outside, everything looked right—growth, leadership, momentum—but internally, something was missing: the presence of Jesus. Dustin shares the breaking point that forced him to confront a hard truth many leaders avoid—what if we've built something impressive, but not something God is truly leading? This conversation goes beyond leadership and into the heart of revival: surrender, obedience, and intimacy with God over performance. Dustin shares the radical moment where he felt called to “kill” what he had built in order to rebuild from the presence of Jesus. If you've ever felt burnt out, stuck in striving, or questioning if there's more than just going through the motions, this episode will challenge and encourage you. What if the breakthrough you're looking for isn't doing more—but surrendering more? What's really happening inside your child's body when they eat ultra-processed food? In this episode, Dr. Vera Tarman sits down with Dr. Jacob May — mitochondrial researcher, registered dietitian, and Associate Professor at Pennington Biomedical Research Center — to explore the cellular and metabolic consequences of a diet dominated by ultra-processed foods, particularly in children. Dr. May leads the Mitochondrial Energetics and Nutrient Utilization Laboratory, where his team investigates how dietary patterns shape metabolism at the cellular level. He's a keynote speaker, precision nutrition researcher, and practicing clinician — and his insights here are both science-forward and refreshingly practical. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why mitochondria can't tell the difference between a McDonald's burger and organic beef — and why that still matters What phytonutrients and zoonutrients are, and why ultra-processing strips them out How ultra-processed foods drive insulin resistance through a damaging feedback loop Whether children are more resilient or more vulnerable to the effects of UPFs — and why the answer is complicated What the research actually says about saturated fat, ketogenic diets, and insulin sensitivity How the gut microbiome is affected by ultra-processed food intake Why breath biomarkers may be the future of non-invasive metabolic screening What GLP-1 medications mean for the future of nutrition science — and why dietitians aren't obsolete Practical, real-world advice for feeding children in an ultra-processed food environment About Dr. Jacob May: Dr. Jacob May is an Associate Professor at Pennington Biomedical Research Center and head of the Mitochondrial Energetics and Nutrient Utilization Laboratory. Why did Jesus tell us to love our enemies? In this message from the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Aaron explores one of the most challenging teachings of Jesus found in Matthew 5.Jesus calls His followers to live differently from the world. Instead of responding to conflict with anger, retaliation, or offense, we are called to respond with radical love. This kind of love reflects the heart of God and becomes a powerful witness to a broken world that is desperate for grace.Pastor Aaron reminds us that our mission as Christians is not to win arguments but to win people to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. When we choose forgiveness over offense and love over hatred, we reflect the gospel to the people around us.This message challenges us to reconsider how we respond to those who hurt us, oppose us, or misunderstand us. According to Jesus, the very people we may call enemies could actually be the mission field God is calling us to reach. If you are looking for a Bible teaching on loving your enemies, forgiveness, and living out the teachings of Jesus in a divided world, this sermon will encourage and challenge you.Key Scripture: Matthew 5:43–48Trace Church exists to help people encounter Jesus, experience transformation, and live out their faith beyond the walls of the church.Join us for worship at Trace Church in Colorado Springs.Sunday Service Times8:15a | 10:00a | 11:45a | 5:00pTrace Church4330 Mark Dabling BlvdColorado Springs, COEaster at Trace ChurchCelebrate the resurrection of Jesus with us.Easter ServicesFriday, April 36:30 PMSaturday, April 44:00 PM | 6:00 PMSunday, April 58:15 AM | 10:00 AM | 11:45 AMNo 5:00 PM service on Easter SundayASL and livestream available at 10:00 AM MSTWe would love to celebrate Easter with you and your family at Trace Church in Colorado Springs.

In this message from the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Aaron Pennington explores how Jesus calls His followers to live a different way in a world that constantly pushes us toward retaliation, reaction, and self-protection.Jesus was not adding more religious rules. Instead, He was pointing people to something deeper. A transformed heart. Through teachings like “let your yes be yes and your no be no” and “turn the other cheek,” Jesus challenges us to examine our motives, our integrity, and how we respond when we are insulted or wronged. This message unpacks the importance of being people of integrity, keeping our promises, and refusing to let the brokenness of the world shape what comes out of us. Pastor Aaron also addresses common misunderstandings around “turning the other cheek,” explaining how Jesus calls believers to respond with wisdom, strength, and character rather than retaliation.Ultimately, the path Jesus invites us into may feel countercultural, but it is the path that leads to real life. When we allow Him to write the story of our lives, we discover a better way to live. The enemy will always try to bait us toward anger, deception, and retaliation. But the invitation of Jesus is clear: do not let the evil outside of you produce evil inside of you.Hand the pen over to Jesus and let Him rewrite the script.

In this message from our Sermon on the Mount series, Pastor Aaron walks through Matthew 5:17–20 and answers a question that has caused confusion for generations:What does it mean that Jesus fulfilled the Law?Did Jesus abolish the Law of Moses? Are Christians still under the Old Covenant? What was the purpose of the Law in the first place?Pastor Aaron explains how the Law was never the finish line. It was the guardrail pointing to God's standard of holiness and our need for a Savior. Jesus did not erase the Law. He fulfilled it. He lived the perfect life we could not live and became the sacrifice we could not offer. You will also learn a simple evangelism tool called “The Gap and the Gospel” to help you clearly explain why we all need Jesus.
Sir Thomas Wyatt was more than a courtier with a gift for words. He was a man whose life unfolded against the turbulent backdrop of Henry VIII's reign — a world of shifting alliances, dangerous intrigue, and sudden reversals of fortune. Though best remembered today for introducing the sonnet into English literature, Wyatt was also a diplomat, a one time prisoner of the Tower of London, and a figure whose personal story has long been entangled with that of Anne Boleyn. Thomas's life shows us a vivid window into the volatile world of Tudor England, so lets explore his story!
