A new look K-State women's basketball gets set for some preseason basketball away from Manhattan, KS taking on Tarleton State on Monday night.

In this week's Akem's Analysis, I talk about some of the biggest games that happened in FCS football this weekend. To start, we look at the big-time win that Sacramento State had at home against the Northern Colorado Bears. Both teams were 3-3 going into the game, and the winner now has a chance to become a playoff team with the right luck. We also look at 2 games in the MVFC, UND vs SIU, and Illinois State vs YSU. Both games had big performances, but none bigger than Beau Brundgard, who is looking like a serious Walter Payton candidate. He absolutely put the team on his back. At the end, I get into some No Huddle Notes, and in that segment, I start by giving my thoughts on the comments of Sac State's president, Dr. Luke Wood. In this week's Akem's Analysis, I look into the Montana vs Sacred Heart game. The Pioneers are 5-2, but their schedule has been suspect, and the 30.5 point spread would also suggest that. Northern Colorado takes on Sacramento State in a big time matchup that could send shockwaves through the entire Big Sky Conference. I also preview some of the games in the Missouri Valley and one colossal game in the UAC. Tarleton State has not been tested in a major way yet this season, but they get their first big tests against West Georgia. The year is winding down but learning is still taking place! We celebrate our resident teachers who were recognized at Tarleton State and we discuss the heartbreaking end of the baseball season.

The Southeastern 16 crew discusses Tuesday's results and topics stemming from them, including: Georgia gets a 5-2 win over Georgia Tech at Truist Park to vault to the top spot in the RPI. Devin Obee and Kolby Branch homered for the Bulldogs. Does Tennessee have a bigger role in mind for Andrew Behnke, who started the Vols' 13-6 win over Bellarmine? The Vols also got home runs from Andrew Fischer, Dalton Bargo and Chris Newsroom. Texas got an 11-4 win over UTRGV thanks to five innings of one-run baseball from Kade Bing, and also three RBIs from catcher Rylan Galvan. Auburn beats Jacksonville State, 4-3, improving its RPI to 4 as Chrstian Chatterton retired the first 18 hitters he saw and struck out eight. Lucas Steele had a pinch-hit home run with two outs in the ninth to walk it off. Bobby Boser blasts three home runs for Florida, which improved its RPI to 25. Oklahoma wins 11-1 at Oklahoma State in eight innings as Jason Walk blasts the Sooners' first grand slam this season. Jaden Barfield, Reid Hensley, James Hitt and Dylan Crooks combined to allow just four hits. Vanderbilt freshman Austin Nye has become perhaps the league's best mid-week starter, lowering his ERA to 1.47 as the Commodores walked off cross-town rival Lipscomb, 5-4, with Colin Barczi's single. Ole Miss picks up a damaging, 7-3 loss to a 16-19 Little Rock squad that dropped its RPI several spots. Texas A&M beats Tarleton State, 11-3, with Jace LaViolette homering and Caden McCoy picking up a win with two scoreless innings. Arkansas knocks off UABP, 13-3, in eight innings, thanks to three doubles from reserve Reese Robinett. Arkansas got home runs from Wehiwa Aloy, Zane Becker, Kuhio Aloy and Cam Kozeal and is now second in the RPI. LSU defeats McNeese, 10-3, with Jared Jones smacking a home run among his three hits. Starter William Schmidt got the win, allowing two runs in 3 1/3 innings. Alabama beats UAB, 5-3, improving to 11-0 in mid-weeks, the Crimson Tide's best record there since 1998. Garrett Staton and Brennen Norton hit home runs while Carson Ozmer got his 12th save. Mississippi State blasts Southern, 16-2, in seven innings, getting its seventh run-rule victory this year, with Hunter Hines driving in four runs. The Bulldogs' RPI sits at 37 as State puts itself in position to make the NCAA tournament. Kentucky knocks off Miami (Ohio), 4-3, as Ethan Hindle's bunt leads to an error that scored Kyuss Gargett with the wining run. South Carolina shuts out The Citadel, 4-0, behind pitching from Jackson Soucie, Tyler PItzer, Ashton Crowther and Parker Marlatt, and a KJ Scobey home run. Missouri beats Missouri State, 10-9, improving the Tigers to 13-8 outside the league, but 0-15 inside it. Jackson Lovich had a grand slam for the Tigers.
