Michael Lofton reviews Jasmyne Theodora’s reasons for becoming Eastern Orthodox and engages her criticisms of Catholicism.
Your beliefs about your body can determine whether you perceive yourself as deserving or undeserving of love and acceptance. Influences from movies, media, magazines, and our families have embedded messages that can foster an unhealthy narrative, suggesting that bodies not conforming to societal standards are inadequate and lack appeal. Consequently, individuals may develop eating disorders, consider cosmetic surgery, experience suicidal thoughts, or engage in unhealthy dieting. The mindset that there exists a single, universal body standard compels people to believe that their bodies are either lovable or unlovable. In this week's podcast, join me for a conversation with Jasmyne Reynolds, a former bodybuilder and the founder of Black Fitness Mommy. She will share her personal journey towards body confidence after having three children, discuss why women often feel the need to "perfect" their bodies, the unhealthy need to lose weight for their relationships and provide insights on how to cultivate a love for your body starting today. The Left Hand Path. What do you imagine when you hear those words? Many practitioners are either taught or assume that those who engage in the left hand path are “dark” or practice “black magic” - terms which are controversial all on their own. They may even automatically associate those who practice the left hand path with Satanism, malefic magic, demons, cults, and the shadiest parts of the occult imaginable. But, how much of our assumptions of the left hand path are true? In witchcraft and the occult, ignorance is not bliss but rather a poison that leads practitioners into judgment of each other's practices. Today's Season 3 premier welcomes left hand path practitioner and high priestess Jasmyne Ambrosia to help us demystify this path. Jasmyne resides in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, is the high priestess of the Solar Court Coven, and runs a metaphysical business by the name of 3rd Eye Fortunes both online and in her local area. Grab your ceremonial goblet, and get ready to drink from the well. Find Jasmyne on the internet! Kankakee native, Jasmyne Humble, has played an intricate part in local government for a handful of years now. Humble worked for former City of Kankakee Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator. When Mayor Wells-Armstrong did not win re-election in early 2021, Jasmyne was presented with the opportunity to apply for the Communications Director position for the Kankakee County Board. Humble landed the role and has been working hard since then on getting the word out about how the American Rescue Plan Funds are being distributed in Kankakee County. It also turns out that Jasmyne worked in television news before working for the City of Kankakee and the Kankakee County Board. I'm grateful that someone as positive and hard working as Jasmyne is diligently working behind the scenes to make Kankakee County a better place to live. Thank you for all you do, Jasmyne!
