Welcome to HearSay. HearSay is a podcast that will amuse and enlighten as you listen to incredible stories, hear about what is going on in the world, and join your host, Diane Neal, as we talk about the things going on in our lives minds, and souls. So, if you only have time for one podcast to listen to, HearSay is it. Full of laughs and information that will elevate your human game and get you more positively engaged in this crazy thing called life. You may know your Host, Diane Neal, from her years playing ADA Casey Novak on Law and Order: SVU, but she is so much more than just that. (See Bio below) So, why make a podcast, you ask? Well, in this incredibly crowded world, Diane and her producer Danny thought something was missing. A place that is decidedly positive while still being interesting, informative, and, most importantly, entertaining.About Diane:Diane was a science kid who went to college early, accidentally began modeling at 16 when her older sister secretly entered her into a contest she ended up winning. Soon after, Diane began living and working as a model all over the world, eventually landing full-time in NYC. While working as a model, Diane started testing the more interesting waters of stand-up comedy, improv and acting. Finally quitting modeling to act full-time, Diane attended Atlantic Theater Co Acting School and UCB while also intermittently studying archaeology, her primary passion, abroad. Both a hard-fought slog and dumb luck eventually landed Diane a great agent and manager, and she started booking leading roles. However, in the early 2000s, during TV Pilot season, comedies were cast AFTER dramas so, if you booked a drama…no comedy for you! That is how Diane ended up spending the next two decades playing very serious characters on the world's most popular shows- Law and Order: SVU, NCIS, NCIS: NOLA, The Following, White Collar, Suits, to name a few. When her filming schedule allowed, Diane would take any opportunity to jump back into stand-up comedy, performing in LA, NYC, and Vegas (as well as the oft-neglected Primm, Nevada). Always a political junkie, after being injured by an uninsured driver and becoming more cranky than funny, Diane moved to upstate NY full-time several years ago and decided to run for her Congressional seat, NY-19. During her run, she finished her first degree at Harvard, enrolled again, and campaigned diligently for her stunning loss. These days Diane is back at her first love, acting and comedy, and is, as usual, still in school. She lives in NYC with her dogs Winnie Rosenbaum, Charlie Chappy, and cat Velvis.
